Well this loss of Germany against Japan was definitely a big surprise but by far not as big as the loss of Argentina against Saudi Arabia. Today Germany also was the dominating team for at least 65 minutes or so and they had a ball possession of 78% in the first half if i remember correctly but that alone does not really mean anything of course. They also had a lot of chances to make it to 2-0 but Germany was just not efficient enough today in the offense. Gnabry, Musiala and Gündgan all had good chances to score the second goal. After the 60th minutes Germany became more and more shaky and therefore the 2 goals of Japan were the logical consequence.

Although I'm very disappointed with the German team's performance at this year's World Cup, I think that Japan played well and deserved to win. Japanese team played a very disciplined game, with excellent teamwork and solid defense. Germany dominated possession, especially in the first half, and had more shots on target, but Japan showed greater creativity and flair in the second half, which ultimately led to their win. I don't think it was a case of the Germans being flat or not playing to their potential. They just weren't as good as they could have been. It was a case of the Germans being outplayed by an opponent that knew what they were doing and played to their strengths. Japan's defense was also very good, and their goalkeeper made some excellent saves to keep Germany off the scoresheet.

Germany deserved to win compared to Japan, but I think Germany squandered too many chances and underestimated Japan a bit. I agree Germany created a lot of chances but their finishing was unlucky regardless of the reasons. Almost the same as Argentina, but Germany looks worse in my opinion.

But don't worry, Argentina and Germany both have a chance to win their next two matches in the group stage. The problem is they have to win it, they have to avoid defeats and draws in the next 2 matches to ensure they qualify for the round of 16. It will really be hard to imagine how these two big teams will fight in the next 2 matches, but really their every match will be a final from now on.

I don't understand why a player of the class of Alphonso Davies could fail to convert the penalty opportunity given by the referee into a goal for Canada, maybe his mentality as a Canadian player is very different from when he played for Bayern Munich. In this second half maybe we won't see any additional goals or at least there will be 1 additional goal from Belgium, there will be no more chance for Canada to rise. What do you think?

Even the greatest footballers of all time like Messi, Ronaldo, Zidane, etc all missed penalties, no player is sure of converting a penalty everytime, some score more times than they miss, but there must come a time that they won't score, and it is normal. Davies didn't score because the goalkeeper guessed the right way and made the save, it has nothing to do with his mentality, he isn't a penalty specialist, i don't even think he has taken so many in his career, he does not take penalties for Bayern Munich too. There were no additional goals in the match by the way, Batshuayi's 44th minute strike was what separated the teams when the referee blew his final whistle.

Alphonso Davies is an experienced forward who should have helped changed the status of Canada who have not scored a single goal in the world cup history. If He was able to score Canada would have gotten their first ever point in the world cup and would have been something to celebrate. He is a game maker in Bayern i was expecting the Davies of Bayern to make things happen in Canada. He should be able to strengthen and motivate the team

Canada actually played very well in their opening match against Belgium today; they wore more shorts than Belgium and attacked Belgium well as a result of their sincere desire to earn at least a point in the game. Meanwhile, they were defeated by a breathtaking goal from Batshuayi after giving up a penalty in the game. On the other hand, Croatia and Morocco played well, and the game ended in a scoreless draw, demonstrating how crucial it is for both teams to earn points. However, Belgium has shown us that they have a lot of skilled players, and they now hold the lead.

It clearly wasn't that boring for me. The Canadians posed an interesting challenge and in many ways, performed more than the Belgium team but, express have got its part in a game and I think that's what helped Belgium sail through the Canadians today.

The outcome is perhaps what everybody expected, but this result doesn't tell half of the story. In fact, it's a very exciting game, full of suspense and suspenseful moments. The two teams are equal in terms of quality and they both try to score, but they can't find a way through. This makes the game very tense and exciting, a game that's worth watching, even if you're not a big fan of either team.

If I'm going to talk about the 2nd half, maybe I'm being a bit assertive, but it is easily among the 20 games with the highest viewing pleasure in the history of the world (including league matches). Brazil have an amazing attacking line and I don't expect them to give too many chances to their opponent. Maybe there are some weaknesses in their defense but I think their offense will be dominant in this game. It should be helpful for a comfortable win.

That's why it's a surprise, the least expected right. Am sure you didn't expect Argentina to lose to Saudi Arabia, neither did you see Geemany loosing to Japan although that was game we hoped to be difficult and it was except, it came with another surprise of Japan actually win the match.

It won't be so surprising to see Brazil lose to Serbia tomorrow. Its gradually becoming a normal scenario on this seasons world cup and some are already calling it, the world cup of the under dogs. We've seen most of them either draw or win and very few lose so far.

It would be disappointing to not see one of the big teams lose or draw tomorrow, lol.

I was having a good night watching the game not until Chelsea former player Batshuayi decided to spoil my fun for the night.
The penalty was missed by bayern munich player but still that did not get to his brain as they did the best they could but still no draw or win. Man City player De Brunne was having a good night some good runs but he had himself to be blamed with some bad decisions
I love Canada for the impressive show's I was more than impress.

this was a crushing result, spain showed that it is a strong team that wants to fight to win the world cup, so far spain and france are the only teams that have impressed me, i don't know what brazil's posture will be when they play, but for now I consider spain and frank as the best teams and with the best chances of reaching the world cup final, especially spain that has an excellent attack

Belgium didnt deserve this win at all. They were so bad that it was criminal,Canada had so many missed chances plus that penalty and you just cannot miss so many good chances and expect to win at the biggest tournament in the World. Belgium needs younger players if they want something to do in the upcoming years.

The match between spain and costa rica was so crazy. Spain has managed to do a very good accuracy by comparing how many shots and goals that already made. My prediction was come true if spain would be winning easily against costarica.  The match that makes me feel surprised was german against japan. Japan was using counter attack that was very effective to prevent the big team like german do dominating the match, japan was playing so efficiently on that match. that's why it can give the same result as saudi arabia against argentina even when argentina makes the goal first.
Canada seems equal with belgium but belgium has managed to make a goal that makes its team qualified to get the full points which is good.

Spain had led from the start, they really dominated the game. Thus, Costa Rica experienced difficulties on all fronts. What's more, Costa Rica doesn't have a strong defense, their midfielder is also not good, and their front line is also helpless when they meet midfielders and defenders from Spain. They are really on a different level from Spain.

This may differ from what happened to Germany vs Japan and Belgium vs Canada. Both should play their best in order to win the match. They were all difficulties facing each other. Japan in this case really gives us a big surprise although not as big as what happened to Argentina and Saudi Arabia. They could manage their team much better and then take down Germany with 1 - 2. Japan was pleased with this result.

I thought they weren't anymore in the first place.. There is a ranking system that put them first. I would say the first to leave in the next stage once they pass the group stage.
BTW Germany did a great job losing vs Japan. Such defeat made this version of World Cup very weird, even Japanese didn't believe they won it.

Spain vs Costa Rica.  Watched a fantastic game in this match. Spain scored 7 goals in this match. Costa Rica did not score any goals in this match but their players played such a bad game beyond words. In this match Spain performed well from start to finish. Spain had the ball throughout the game.  In this match, Spain scored 1 goal in the first 11 minutes and scored a total of 7 goals.

Spain played a great game. Spain beat Costa Rica 7-0 with Costa Rica yesterday.We might have thought that the match between England and Iran would be the highest scoring match but yesterday Spain broke the record with seven goals. Maybe in terms of the highest goals in this World Cup, Spain became the best may have. As far as the game went yesterday we always had the ball with Spain, they didn't give Costa Rica 30% of the ball. Some of the countries in the World Cup played really amazing games this time. Another big shock in the world cup after Argentina it is now Germany. Germany are four times world cup winner and getting defeated in their first match in this world cup would hamper their confidence. They were doing good in the first half but in the second half Japan was a different team all together. I think the Germans underestimated the japanese and which resulted in two late goals.
