Hey Blasko,

I notice you're a speaker at the above event, can you tell us if you plan to discuss Unbreakable coin?

Hopefully this 4 months sell-off is done with so we can start our move back up.

Thanks!

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

as an outsider suddenly more interested in UNB.

1.  I like a coin community that is ULTRA conservative on code changes.  Release and never fork.
2.  This slow block release is still a big problem.
http://www.unbmining.com:8008/chain/Unbreakablecoin?limit=100&offset=45041
20 days to mine 100 blocks?

Suggestion, stick to your guns, UNB is likely to not gain major acceptance in the next 300 days.  The market might appreciate the 'never fork' later.  But UNB will suffer severe ridicule in that period.

That said, forking in a gravity well, it is no major sin.

Welcome to UNB's forum. I appreciate your input and overview, and I to believe in time UNB will grow in usage, acceptance, and in mining. I recognize with so many other coins to choose from it's takes longer to really stand out from the crowd, but UnbreakableCoin's awareness is growing.

Please be aware of people saying our block chain is frozen.

In 15 months since release, UNB has never frozen once.

So I say again, UNB has never frozen. We find blocks everyday. Even when UNB is slow, it has never frozen!
These questions about making UNB faster have always been answered with, just hash it and I can assure you, it does go faster. This is the correct answer.

Rest assured - There will be no changes to UNB.
UNB will always be Unbreakably Decentralized, and Unchanged!

Except of course for the days when none are found ...

Really, look at the facts:

UNB specification:
block time = 300 seconds
Difficulty re target - 2016 blocks (7 days at 300 second blocks)

Last difficulty adjustment : 1 March that is 136 days ago
Number of blocks found since 1 March: approx 731 (no working block explorer again, so just an estimate)
Actual block time: ~16,000 seconds or 50 times the target.

So no it isn't frozen but it is glacially slow ...

If that isn't "broken" I'd love to know what your definition of "broken" is?

In most cases miners jump onto the most profitable coin minable at the moment. Therefor, if big miners jump from UNB to other coin's pools, then confirmations will be slower for UNB,,,, regardless , UNB remains unbroken (and to this day since release, UNB is one of the few coins that can say this). The attempts to compare UNB's recent slower blocktimes as "broken" are well noted, however, are completely untrue.

To this day, UNB has still never stopped, malfunctioned, or broke. Even with hard to break blocks, UnbreakableCoin just keeps on going. At 17 months old UNB is steadily chugging away at blocks, and most importantly, it keeps on doing this without changes. If you want to say we're slow "aka UNB's slower than Bitcoin", that's fine for the present moment. I admit confirmations are indeed slower than we prefer, however making claims that UNB is broken is far from the truth. In fact UNB has never stopped once.

Still even after posting this, someone will still make a claim that UNB is broken. A word to UNB's competition, you make UNB better by talking about it everyday. Seriously, and , well thank you.

Still and for the moment I admitting recognize that UNB is currently slower than anyone of us would like, but like I've said over and over, simply mine UNB and it runs faster.  This is a pure fact cryptonians.

UNB follows the path of BTC and we're exceeding our plans and BTC's first 2 years at the moment.

As miners you are free to support any crypto coin you want to, (and trust me I watch UNB mining very closely) but making comments that UNB should be changed / altered to make it a faster payout for miners seems like pure crypto greed to me.  UNB is not designed to support this ideal and again, UNB will not change.

Over time, UNB will pan out to be exactly where it should be.  However in the meantime, if you want to get rich over night on a crypto , UNB is most likely not for you.  UNB was designed to give crypto users a truly trusted decentralized alternative. I never expected it would make millionaires overnight. This is part of the reason I have been preaching long term for altcoins since day one.

I have been mining Unb for a long time. I have seen Multi-Pool get on UNB and the blocks fly by. Right now it is slow but it has never broke for me, I will keep mining it. I like the fact Jim sticks to his word about not changing UNB. Jim works very hard on UNB I admire his dedication.  I also like the fact that Jim has spoken at several major Bitcoin conferences and has done some big interviews. UNB also has Michel Turpin one of Bitcoins top 30 most influential people on the team. Those two things alone mean a lot to me. That brings awareness to UNB from a lot of people in the right circles  and in time I am sure the price will reflect that.

At 1.4 months old UNB is steadily chugging away at blocks, and most importantly, it keeps on doing this without changes. If you want to say we're slow "aka UNB's slower than Bitcoin", that's fine for the present moment. I admit confirmations are indeed slower than we prefer, however making claims that UNB is broken is far from the truth. In fact UNB has never stopped once.

"1.4 months old" -- I presume you meant years.  The Genesis block was created Wednesday, March 19, 2014 07:00:15 GMT making it roughly 16 months old.  It's official description is as a 300 second coin.  It may have actually been similar to that prior to the early 2015 P&D, but it's been a far cry from that ever since.  UNB difficulty has been 24,965,256.2512 since before March 25, 2015.

You're apparently counting on the largesse of owners of modern ASIC mining gear to donate their resources for the welfare of UNB (my electricity costs 14.5 to 17cts/KWH so presumably you're finding a few who pay nothing or next to), but the crypto-fact is miners generally mine for the purpose of generating funds (covering the electric bill is usually the bare minimum).  UNB is a long, long way from accomplishing that.  The crypto-fact is there's no reason to expect a miner to mine UNB until the difficulty makes it at least affordable to do so.  Which means that there can be no expectation of UNB transaction time becoming reasonable for a long, long time.  And when that happens, don't expect it to last for longer than perhaps two to four weeks, we'll then be most likely right back to where we are now.

My last UNB coin transfer started 8PM Wednesday and the necessary sixth confirmation was aprox 10AM Friday.  Can you imagine how many retail businesses would be willing to accommodate a transaction delay of even a quarter of that?  How many times do you think the difficulty will have to halve before UNB transaction time becomes acceptable for real-world usage?

So this is supposed to be a fully functioning crypto that has no new blocks in 24 hours? This doesn't seem right to me.
