Op, I don't know where you're from, and if Bitcoin is indeed illegal in your country with a strong punishment from breaking the law (and it being enforced), it makes sense you stayed away. If by illegality you mean what you referred to later (that criminals use Bitcoin), then it's not a good reason to stay away because money can be used for different purposes, and it's unfair to consider it a deal-breaker for Bitcoin but not for any fiat currency. In terms of overall risks, I'd say Forex trading is less safe than just buying and hodling Bitcoin. Still, you shouldn't focus on the past and regret your previous choices: you should just learn lessons from it. I'm happy to hear you're such an active Bitcoin user.

I think bitcoin isn't illegal in the country where OP is living. In my understanding, OP is not very supportive on uncertain things such as bitcoin at that time 2012 because it do aid illegal things like money laundering and trafficking. Any currency can be tainted if a criminal put their malice into it, Criminals are just taking advantage of currency such as bitcoin to use into illegal activities. OP choose to be a bitcoin/cryptocurrency user like us despite the missed opportunity back then, This proves that it's never too late to take the path we are all going to.

Most people always say bitcoin is used for illegal activities as you just mentioned above, but I can tell you fiat currency is also used for all those illegal activities, before bitcon was created all those illegal activities which you mentioned where done and fiat currency was used then, so I can say fiat currency and bitcoin is been used for illegal activities and not only bitcoin is used for that, we don't have to paint bitcoin red.
Also I think is not to late to invest in bitcoin, the price is down now and I believe it's a nice idea to invest now, you shouldn't miss the next bull run.

There will OF COURSE be people who do not like bitcoin, but that is not a problem because in the end we do not care. First of all, there is NO topic in anywhere at bitcointalk that could convince me to stop from buying more bitcoin, why? Because I would never make my investments based on bitcointalk topics at all.

I didn't buy it at first because of here, and I won't sell it because of someone here. What I do is, I check my investments carefully and I decide if they are worth it or not myself. If I see that then I will continue to do it, and if I don't then I will sell it but sure as hell that it won't be because of some topic created by some random person on a forum.

You can't say, people won't buy illegal goods with fiat.  Most of the drug addicts, I believe, use the government local currency to buy it. Many people dislike cryptocurrency  from the onset, because they never knew that cryptocurrency it yield positive in the world, i believe that cryptocurrency during the time bitcoin came out of the world or been newly introduce many countries and people make an emphasis about cryptocurrency. Bitcoin, as any other form of money, can be used in legal activities as well as in illegal activities. It's up to you how to use it.
You new about bitcoin when its price was less than ten bucks! It's true that you did miss a lot of opportunities and you could've made a fortune if you've invested a small amount of money in it. But you should not feel bad. Bitcoin is still in its early phases and it's not too late to invest in it and make some nice profit.

I've known Bitcoin since 2012 but started using it in 2019, though it was still for payments (funding and withdrawal) of online Forex trading, nothing more because I was careful to deal with something that might aid illegality. I later discovered that I was naive at that time, the latest development/revolution in Bitcoin made me ever feel bad and I had lost a lot of opportunities in the past to this.

It isn't only you but for sure, there are many people worldwide who knew Bitcoin right from the day it was created back in 2008 but they didn't tried to touch it at that time. They felt that it was a nonsense creation, that it will not succeed. They let the negativity feed their minds and now, most of them are feeling regret and disappointment because they didn't try to invest and support Bitcoin.

The lesson learned was that it is better to move closer to what is new to us than to be condemning it from afar. Can you imagine that despite having enough money to invest in the cryptocurrency between 2019 -2021, I was adamant that I wouldn't because I believed Bitcoin aids legalities like trafficking, money laundering, terrorism, activities of drug barons, and many more. I forgot to think that as it has its advantages, it also has its disadvantages, no system works perfectly.

You thought about all of that but you forgot that even fiat currency has been used in all of that crimes for a very long time already? You really are naive like you said .

You had a misconception about Bitcoin which has been cleared now. It was an error of perception and you aren't the only one who had it (there are countless numbers who still have it till date). Another thing you should know is that there's nothing which has been created or made for positive use that doesn't have a wrong use of it. Evil is upon the face of the earth. There are people who just roam this earth looking for what to pervert. Come to think of it, aren't there negative uses of fiat? I'm sure even during the stone age era there were also perverted use of monetary instruments. It must've been the same for cowries too. In my own personal experience I already introduce bitcoin to my friends and family but still it is hard for them to realize that what they are already knew is not true and they are only a victim of hyip programs. You can still buy a thing using bitcoin by converting it to stable coin or fiat.

Still find not only with personal but also many communities still hate with bitcoin, some of them have reason loss much money after investing with bitcoin and bought still on all time high price. Some of them hate bitcoin because worry and afraid with bitcoin make them loss popularity and make their currency as fiat left by many people. Yea, that behavior is more common than most might think, because I have several relatives and friends that still believe that Crypto currencies main purpose is..... criminal activities. We have so much competition out there that are spreading FUD like this, that it is becoming more common for people to think that Crypto are synonymous with crime. 

The counter to reverse these learned thought patterns are proper education and information sharing from reputable people in the Crypto community. Just look what happens when someone like Elon Musk tweet something positive about Crypto currencies.

I was very late to the bitcoin World. Though it is better than never. I was late  ot because I wasn't interested in bitcoin,  not because I haven't heard of bitcoin. It was just because of the part of the world I come from. During the time of bitcoin was the height of ponzi scheme. And many people including myself had already been mesmerised by ponzi scheme.
Battling depression and taking risk is something that would not happen simultaneously.
The little Google search I made didn't land me to this forum, rather it took me to hungry scam project developers who used bitcoin as a bait and optimized their ads.

I don't regret actually, I am finally here. Even if I don't get super rich with bitcoin, I know I would be comfortable

From the beginning of cryptocurrency many countries dislike the values of bitcoin and especially government personals and politicians. Yes most people disliked bitcoin because of the experienced their have faced in life. Probably their been scammed by internet fraudsters by ponzi schemes or others. One thing I came to understand that you cannot like something or somebody when you are far from the thing or the person. when you come closer to the thing or person then you can judge it very well. Before whining yourself into the public and telling off bad things against on something which is mainly supported by the community then you should make some research first and try to look back on whats the real

thing or deal because not all the times that every information you do see around specially on this online world would be real thats why you should make research before you do act.

If you dont like Bitcoin then just simply avoid it but much sure you would really be going back specially on the time you had realized that you are believing the opposite.

Great, it's still not that late. I've seen stories that they've said they knew bitcoin too early but forgotten it because of what they've felt and thought but without doing any further research. They also have the same regret of not taking the early time and its advantage to buying as many as they can.
But still, they've ended up buying it during these last good runs of bitcoin but still, it's not that late at all. Many also thought of the same thing as you thought and that has stopped them from buying bitcoin.
