I couldn't find a perfect few upsets to put a few stake points across, so I opted for an all in on Arsenal against Sevilla, I would say at some point I was starting to regret my choice, but I knew Sevilla were really bad recently and their only decent performance being against Real Madrid during the weekend.

Even though it was quite tough to watch Arsenal after Sevilla had pulled a goal back, and Gabriel Jesus being forced to be substituted for Eddie Nketiah, and Sevilla were overwhelming the Arsenal's defense and I thought we might just have another game like the one against Lens. I'm glad to have earned 18.5 points with my chips for this week

If slaman29 were to play risky in the superbru pool, he will lose in the end. But if he does it in the odds-based pool, two lucky hits could be enough to win the entire group stage.

It seems he is still using the same strat on the odds based pool. 7 points stake on Copenhagen to win by Slaman, thats over 55 nasty points if Copenhagen actually ended up winning

From what I read Copenhagen had more shots on goal than United in first half, too bad for me.

Turkish teams can get unexpected results with the support of their fans when they play home. Galatasaray had an impressive win against Real Madrid in the past years. When we look at the statistics this evening as well I think that Galatasaray were the side that deserved the win. As I said earlier as well they were quite problematic in terms of finishing.

Yes it was away where they never beat any team in England and yet they did now and lost at home. So far no upsets at all in Champions League this half way of Round 3, which is bad for guys like me

I hit again at the Pot B and staked everything on Real Madrid which won but not as easy as I thought it would have been for them during yesterday game.

Same for me, I also gave it a shot and actually I don't regret it because this odds-based pool really is the competition that gives some room for really taking a shot at something. There is no point in the other pools to bet against Manchester City because it simply doesn't pay off. But so far I bet against Manchester City with RB Leipzig, which went wrong but it's fine and I still enjoyed watching the game a lot.

This time I also went with Galatasaray and I watched the entire game. In the first 70 minutes Galatasaray should have won the game. They had huge chances several times and wasted them all, and this is what made the difference between this game and Manchester United - Galatasaray as on that day they scored their 3 goals. But I am still ok and I picked Bayern Munich for the Superbru pool. Taking risk is fun I gotta say! I like the format!

Congratulations to you as well, once buwaytress posted the Odds, I had just about 3 to 4 possibility in my mind, that being Napoli, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Arsenal, I couldn't settle for Napoli or Bayern Munich because I felt their respective opponents too are tough ones and Galatasaray particularly have some really experience players, while Napoli I think there is still trouble in paradise concerning their in-house and and inter-players relationships, leaving me with either Real Madrid or Arsenal, Arsenal became the best choices in terms of risk-rewards ratio, so, I was very fine with put all my chips in, glad that it paid off, and I don't have to keep looking over my shoulder for today's matches. I'll just use the period to navigate the reverse fixtures which will be the games fixtures for the game week 4, and see if they're big teams playing away from home then that could probably have their odds increased or potential upset worth tailing, Group B and Group F are my most likely targets for now.

Yeah too bad indeed, they could have also scored the penalty but somehow Onana step himself up as a goalkeeper for the first time of his career in United  

Just wondering this but are you going to stick with this strat though? I mean with your current point, if you play it safe until the end then you could easily keep the top 3 spot on the odd based pool for sure. This type of strats is pretty good actually to get high number of points for the week especially if you are not even in top 10 yet but in your case, you still hold that top spot though

It wasnt actually that close though, Real madrid was much better than Braga so it was actually expected. Napoli was actually pretty close yesterday with only 1 shot on target that converted into a goal despite being a slight favourites there

@swogerino @rohang @Igebotz Yeah I personally can't really tell right now what strategy works but I believe consistency is key. I mentioned maybe 18 point average (for 180 total points sounds decent Top 10 but too early to tell). Worth mentioning plenty of 10-point stakes on decent favourites suggest many agree here.

Being consistent is good, but it definitely won't lead to the top - since the number of participants is large, someone will be lucky enough to guess several unlikely results with big odds. Personally, I'll only bet on unlikely outcomes from now on - I forgot to use my 10 points last round and now feel like I'm way behind, so I need to bet heavily.

I'm surprised myself that the King of backing the underdogs is advicing us against it now. buwaytress when did you start believing in consistency?

18.5 points is massive my Idolo  I went all out on Atletico to give me 20max for the week against weak Celtic defense. I don't want to spread my wings anymore, I'm just throwing all at the wall and hope it sticks.

It is amazing to see how things can quickly change in this Champions League pool!
Yesterday I was collecting dust in bottom because of my last round terrible result, and today I jumped to 11th place with four exact scores predicted, only 5 points less than current leader.
I was having second thoughts about Bayern match so I changed it in last moments from 1:2 to 2:2, and I wanted to put 0:1 for Napoli but went with 1:2 instead.
So stupid for Copenhagen and Larsson to miss a penalty against Man United  in stoppage time

whenever I find some possible surprise, it doesn't happen, and all realistic results does not give me any exact score

When it comes to gambling, I never include United because these guys are to inconsistent week in week out!! And today was going to be another record breaking for them, but Onana showed his worth today... lucky break..

No one should be afraid of anyone, but this was a statistically equal game (which should not be the case in the United-Copenhagen pair), it may well be that the pendulum of luck in the return game will swing towards Copenhagen.

Yes, I was surprised too! In addition, theoretically, the bookmaker’s margin is greater at low odds, so those who bet on high odds should, on average, lose less than those who bet on low (reliable) odds.

If you check recent results, you could see the option coming through often which is goals. I have stopped looking for team that will win because any team that becomes obvious to win will have very small odds and that is discouraging. So, I consider goals a lone. So far, UCL this season have seen more goals per match than several seasons before.

Take Newcastle against Dortmund for instance, even though Newcastle seems to be the favourite side base on recent form, it will be safer to play the option of goals as the match might produce up to four goals. Not being certain but this is my expectations.

Barca have game with Shakhtar, but I will skip this game in betting because I can't find valuable bets. Going with over 2.5 goals gives too low odds and it's still risky considering how much Barca struggling to score and thatthey may rest some players before El Clasico. And Shakhtar changed their manager just before this game, not sure how big factor it will be.
Tonight going with Feyenoord, Atletico, PSG, Porto and Newcastle wins. Yeah, I know, it's boring going with all favorites. Also, going to try with BTTS or over 2.5 goals in some of these games.

Feyenoord already finished their job, probably easiest pick tonight, with above average odds (how come I didn't pick them at least for a pool, not sure)
not sure for Porto, although Antwerp is far from best form and consistency, Atletico should have it in Scotland, despite being already goal down, Celtic is not CL team

will be interesting in Paris, Milan has two goalless matches behind, this one should be less defending

I have all of my points on Atletico Madrid, and they aren't looking good right now against a weak Celtic team; they have come back from a losing position twice already, and there is still more than 30 minutes to play. At this point, I'm simply hoping for a miracle because it would be a tragedy if I ended up with nothing in this round.

Another surprising clash is Newcastle United vs. Dortmund. After their amazing performance against PSG, you'd think Dortmund would be easier for them.

If there is something I hate about champions League football is that if you want goals, goals won't come and this implies to the Newcastle vs Dortmund, maybe the weather conditions put them at a disadvantage but this is their home turf and can't pull this excuse...

For those of us out on the hunt for the big odds unfortunately this Matchday didn't have big upsets and maybe will have to wait till next month for another go

My disappointment in Newcastle is immeasurable. How they can go from looking like one of the strongest offensive teams in Europe to just become flat on the back of one injury on Isak is beyond me. Good on Dortmund though, they aren't as bad as many painted them out to be and they probably should be in the running for making it through.

Not really sure why oddsfor Porto was quite high, but it was easy. Antwerp is just worst team in group. Barca won against Shakhtar, but they let way too much for Shakhtar in 2nd half. Yeah, Barcelona squad was far from optimal, but in upcoming El Clasico situation won't be much different.
Looks that I got up by 9 places in Superbru. Not bad, but I'm still just 25th and far from leaders.

Newcastle continues to perform unexpectedly, not loosing games that they are expected to loose and then not winning games that they are expected to win. Against Dortmund we expected Newcastle to be able to win since Dortmund are not having the best season and Newcastle have been able to survive two very difficult games with opponents as tougher than Dortmund. Newcastle were not lucky today.

Watched PSG - Milan on second screen and it looked quite easy for PSG.

This will be the poorest start that Milan has had to their champion league campaign in years. They are really a struggling team and do not look like they will make it out of the group.
