This year Champions League has been really good as we finally have an Italian team finalist despite me thinking whichever of them,Inter or Milan stand no chance to win against Real or Manchester City and as such I exclude them from the possibility of winning the Champions.

It would have been a grand old tale if Liverpool met Milan in the final but while many including myself thought we had a fighting chance, no one saw Milan coming. Still, I'm hoping it's Real who progresses rather than City. Can't say I've got a true favourite among the Italians, still a bit upset that we won't see Napoli's fantastic team take the stage at Ataturk.

I can't stand Real adding to their tally... but I prefer that to happen than City getting their first =p

Inter/Milan somehow claiming it would be pretty damned amazing though. Worth some money on that final.

there is no 3rd place match in CL, so five matches to go, 15 points at maximum, realistically, no one can expect more than 10

nevertheless, all matches in SF can go every way, expect City playing home against Real, presume that all participants will go on City to win in that match, all other will probably have odds above 2 on all outcomes
Inter vs Milan is practically two matches, where there is no home advantage, so everything could be expected (IMO, Milan will see Istanbul, and they have no good memories on that city, looking back at Liverpool match)

After Real Madrid's game yesterday, I'm afraid that one semi-final may turn out to be completely one-sided. As for the Milan-Inter pair, on the one hand it is completely random, but on the other hand, Inter must lose at least one game - they have 13 losses in the season, why not get another one. Milan have not much fewer defeats (I think 11) but they look more stable than Inter.

The Champions League pool has been going on in the most terrible way for me.    I even missed many picks recently but even if I made them it doesn't look like anything would have still changed. But it has still been a fun pool and it has been nice for me to spend some good time here. I will try not to miss the remaining picks for the rounds left hopefully. It is better to follow the matches when you make a score prediction about them or make some other bets on them.

Don't worry about it, of course, I will still ensure it is paid out. I might be forced to pay slightly lower fees to not hurt Betnomi/myself too much, but this might cause a delay. Everything will be clearer after the final on 10th June when points are finalised. Hopefully by then, things get better, though it's really hard to predict. When NFT fever first happened on Ethereum, congestion took months to clear.

I hope everyone can understand it's a situation that's suddenly appeared -- feel free to PM for clarification. In hindsight, I probably should have consolidated all our payments, but who knew Ordinals and BRC-20 would suddenly become hot in May?

Oh and @Distraction, don't be too discouraged. I was bottom in EPL for the longest time (still close to bottom actually) and that's supposed to be the league I'm most familiar with. Luck? Haha

Goodness me, that's unbelievable amount of fees to pay. We still have time for the season to end which means you don't need to worry about the fees right now. Before the time, i hope the congestion will become normal as 1 or 2 per vbyte will be enough to get the next block.

We all understand the situation, we are all bitcoiners, and it is affecting us in some way, I paid a $9.98 fee for a $30 btc I dented out to a colleague a few days ago, there are situations that are completely beyond our control, and network congestion is one of them, paying $650 for tnx fees is insane, and it would undoubtedly affect you or the prize pool in some way. There is no shame in paying in USDT and paying a fee of $1. I'd gladly accept payment in USDT to reduce this ridiculous fee if I made it to the prize position, and I hope others understand.

My position in the pool will be clearer after the first leg of the semi final game (reason I'm yet to submit my wallet address)

I didn't even knew that there is a spreadsheet . Added my Bitcoin address there, but it's not visible, probably only you can see it. Yeah, current situation with Bitcoin network sucks. Last week I made transaction with quite low fee and it got confirmed only after few days. Let's hope that things will be back to normal in month.
Back to pool, I still have some chances to go up a bit. In best case scenario to 6th place. But I still can get out of Top 10. Still haven't decided what to do with Real - City game and I haven't made bets on it so far. It would be interesting to hear some inputs. Really want City win, but CL is Real playground.

Thank you OP for the message and of course we totally understand the situation. Personally I think 1 mbtc fee is a lot so for sure $600 fee is way too much, I would suggest we wait, but I can understand if people want their prizes immediately.

Next time you know to consolidate early, but nobody could tell this was going to happen...

I put in a old address starting with 1 but this is because it's an exchange address, I hope that's ok. That was I can sell my btc immediately without worry of fees.

Thanks for the reminder - from time to time I've checked the spreadsheet and thought "Did I do something wrong, because I can't see anything other than my comment". But it turns out that I was just the most active.

As I understand it, the soaring cost of transactions is due to the fact that shitty NFTs are now made in the bitcoin network also. I hope this trend dies ASAP - I pay for VPN with bitcoin and my last transaction (dated May 3rd is still on the way). And in general, I do not want to pay a commission that exceeds the VPN fee itself.

The bitcoin network is charged per byte. Taking into account the fact that there will be many input addresses and 10 output addresses (probably 11, since the remainder will go to some address), the transaction will weigh a lot, which is why it is so expensive at current prices.

I am also ranked at the bottom of the group, so I will be out of the winners' platform. However, the issue of the current increase in fees will cause some trouble for the organizers, so it would be good to wait for some time until life returns to its natural course.

I'm also not in any prize positioned place either, and I don't think the network congestion would last for very long, there is quite a huge time frame for things to get back to very close to normal by the time we approach the champions league final and the final prize places have been determined, so it's still all good imo.

That said, we've got a great fixture to look forward too today, between Man City and Real Madrid, City have been terrific recently, but we all also are aware of the type of stunt Real Madrid are capable of pulling, even when they're not playing well enough, they still get some positive result out of nowhere.

I have put 1-1 on the prediction pool as I have got nothing to lose while my real bet is for Real Madrid to win this game and I don't understand the bookies why such an high odd for Real at home,they have given 3.15 while for me the maximum I would give to Real tonight is 2.50 and that just because I know that City is somewhat better but the fact remains that City is still an English team which concede a lot of goals and thus most likely Real will win tonight and decide everything in the return leg most probably where I must admit City remains the favorite to qualify further from this encounter.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm in touch with Betnomi to see what can be arranged. It's unlikely we consider any other replacement payment -- I hold all the BTC, paying you guys with another source of funds puts them at risk.

I hope all this worry proves to be temporary but I'd rather go through the discussion now so no one is surprised after 10th June!

That site has been outdated for years haha. There are much better estimates out there but I usually just undercut the estimate from Electrum's own. Blockchair.com is also the easiest to look at (for an estimate).

Believe me, $6 is not going to get you anywhere. 275k txs waiting as of now, but at least the estimate is 300 sat/byte right now. Cro2 made an almost 190/sat byte payment on Sunday ($25) and it just confirmed 40 blocks ago =)

Man if we made a paralelism with boxing we can say something, Real Madrid hands/punchs was much solid than the City, when Real Madrid makes the goal City crumbed.

Also Real Madrid ended the game in a way better condition than Manchester city, i dont know why Guardiola doesnt make any changes, why not to put Julian Alvarez for example.

Well that is a congestion then but I hope it starts ending and I just checked at Electrum now,it is 100 satoshi/byte for 25 blocks confirmation,I don't know what the time for that but it should be faster than 48 hours and I think it is about 5-6 hours max and I hope the network keeps speeding up as we go.

On a side note I just put 1-1 for fun as a result for the game of tonight in the pool and it got and brought me an exact score,exact scores help but I don't think it will help me much as only 4 games remain now,12 points at play and most likely winners are already predicted.
