I understand cryptofrka regarding putting up some own money for the sake of making more reasonable, rational decisions. But I disagree a tiny bit here because that is why it's good how the pools are separate pools and the Superbru pool is still the one where it comes down to making decisions that are much closer to what can realistically be expected. The odds-based pool is definitely an experiment and I am trying my luck there as you guys can see and it did work for Hhampuz. It is a format in and of itself. What cryptofrka said could actually also become a format, but you'd probably not fully eliminate the issue that some people do care less about putting up their own stakes than others.

We still don't have the final results yet. Maybe someone with a solid 20+ average per round will be the winner eventually. And it also gives an extra thrill to the pool. It's kind of an element that you don't get anywhere else, putting all your stakes on rather exotic outcomes and being able to win big in exchange for a reasonable upfront paid fixed fee.

I don't mind this approach at all. It's actually more hectic which is also quite fun, because there's no way somebody would go all in on Shakhtar with real money.
I'm all for competitions in which you play for something until the end, and a pool like this always gives you an outside shot to climb 30 places in 1 week against all the odds.

I would like to see the other one as well though - it would be a better gauge of a bettor's form and knowledge, the results in this one will be a bit skewed - especially towards the end of the group stage when risk will be at max levels.

I'm a bit too lazy to redo the observations bit, but suffice to say, there was an increase in all-in vets on Pot B, and only a few of them hit -- as the group stages end, I expect more desperation and more such attempts. At your own risk, at your own rewards.

I would like to see the other one as well though - it would be a better gauge of a bettor's form and knowledge, the results in this one will be a bit skewed - especially towards the end of the group stage when risk will be at max levels.

I have a vision of weighted points for a BSFL style selections, but in fantasy mode, assigning points to scenarios.

More like a Betbuilder, but hiding the odds/weight multiplier (so people need to research to find out the likelier/unlikelier outcome).

So for example:
ML outcome: (odds based multiplier)
Choose Scorer: (position-based + price-based multiplier)
Choose player: (price/market value-based + match rating multiplier)

The lower the player value/price, the higher the multiplier.
The farther the position of the player from goal, the higher the multiplier.

OR, instead of multiplier, a cost-based points like fantasy transfer budget. Choose as many scorers or players to count goals and rating, but expensive players cost more points.

I feel that is an even better risk/reward proposition + requires knowledge of the game to know best value players, lineups, etc.

Problem? I ain't got time for that haha.

All you have to do is attach your betslip with the odds. You can play ML, players to score or betbuilders - whatever you want. But there's a finite personal stake to it - so you can't go YOLO every round to catch up if you've started badly.

I think we'd be able to find a sponsor for this quite easily - because betting there would be one of the requirements. We could actually ask for quite a prize pool - because if we get just 20 people to play and 15+ of them lose 20mBTC throughout the season, that's already 0.3 BTC in revenue for the sportsbook.

There could be some odds boosters/free hits/fun stuff applicable through the BSFL-type system as well, where you can win bonuses for the next betting week.

Organizing all of it would be quite a task though - but I do feel it'd be fun.

Haha complicated for the organiser but the player actually ends up submitting points over a form in 30 seconds (the additional research not required but clearly, rewarding). Multipliers are hidden for that spice. Once more, I think that's where the expertise/skill comes in.

Pure odds-based has that random degen element. Guy could still place 200 bets with 20mbtc and hopes he hits one 1000x. He'd be lucky and win it without much skill.

I like your idea too, something similar was done on forum before but without a bankroll, which should have attracted more participants but didn't (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5323922.0). I like to think 15 ppl committing 20 mbtc is easy on a forum supposedly with 100s of gamblers but the reality is people here are hard to figure out =D

Someone should really try this. Pitch it =)

Freebet received without issues and I also used it and tried my first withdrawal from Rollbit to see whether everything works fine. Did an ETH withdrawal with reasonable fees in no time, so just wanted to let you guys here know that it worked exactly like I was hoping for. Sometimes first withdrawal can be a bit complicated, but not in this case.

I'll put up MD5 forms next Tuesday. It's already possible now but maybe odds are a little closer to final numbers if I give books a little time to adjust -- have a feeling internationals (injuries really) will have some small impact.

I placed on Switzerland.

I think I got few that really spark my attention especially because I really need huge boost of the pool B points. Copenhagen could be surprising especially when Munich has already qualified and the odds are 12x  . Porto on the other hand could totally also make it against Barcelona considering that their last game against Barcelona was pretty close too. Guess I'll wait for few more days to decide huh

There are some many possible upsets to hunt for in this game round but for not having any point in the last round, there is no way I can get all aggressive with my approach.

I've actually got my stake on Man United again, I'd rather have a valid reason to hate them for the rest of the season, they let me down the last game week so, I'm having them on redemption trip now, it's either they do right by me or we'll be at loggerheads the reminder of the season.

I'm also thinking of the same strategy since I didn't secure a single point last time and relying on teams with odds close to even won't work for me anymore if I want to catch up with the rest.

I didn't notice the odds most probably because I didn't check Sport book for the odds, neither did pay attention the Young Boys vs Red Star match, but I'm sure I saw some 2+ Odds and 3+ Odds, I just don't remember which team had what, I sure buwaytress will look into it.

I don't think so, If you can get 20+ points every game week from now to the end of the competition, you most likely will end up in paid spot, but how feasible is that is the question ?!

There are still some tiny chance for Manchester United to get to the play off if they could win the last two games so yeah I think its about time they win in the UCL. Unless of course by some miracle, Copenhagen win against Bayern Munich then that would be another story

It's still not an easy choice to go with but If there were to be any sense of responsibility or urgency from Erik Ten Haag's side, it's gotta to be now, and the final game against Bayern Munich is not one they should be optimistic about for any reason whatsoever, If they fail to win this week they likely wouldn't even be heading to the Europa league, so they've got it all to play for now, or never.


The Porto vs Barcelona game is one of the highly probably upsets that one could expect, but the fact their you can't have Porto on win or draw is the major con here, but I'll sure not be having my stake or Barcelona to win either, because the "Juice isn't going to be worth the squeeze".

But what about all 10 stakes on Copenhagen against Bayern Munich ? That's over 10+ Odds right, hitting that would be game over, all that will be needed after that would be just to look for 1.2 - 1.3 Odds heavy favorites down the lane to keep the pace.

It is exactly in these match days that are played 16 games and then we will have less than 16 in a match day,so 16 games are 48 points at the table and it is exactly here that positions are changed between pool participants,for the good or for the bad whatever the case may be.

Sure if you are near a paying spot you still have chances when the games will halve in number in the other stages of the Champions League but chances the more forward we go the lower they become.
