Hey guys. First time playing in this tournament. How do I play?  I'm aware I missed yesterday games and will need to make up for it somehow. I'm still going through OP to absorb as much details as I can but in the meantime, I will appreciate all beginner tips plus Quick question for @buwaytress

What are pots? And both pots have everything equalized? Say like UCL pots so if I end up in a pots without players like @Trofo, I can win more?

@buwaytress Don't know how page is setup or what can be shown on the leader board but I would very much like to see some stats about how many units someone still has in play on first glance. For instance I am first and would like to see who can surpass me in this round. No point checking people who already have all bets settled. Some kind of stats like

Nice idea, I like it. You know you'll just lose in the end, though, right?

In theory, everything can be done, but in practice, I think the current straightforward layout will suffer from more complicated data display (we're even not sure yet how 16 MDs will start to look like as they stack up).

I was even thinking of an easy way to compare (like selecting users to compare vs you). I know joker_josue is working on some things already, we'll see if this can be done. Might need to collect all the desired stats requirements and build them at once, so we don't keep tinkering. What do you think josue? Obviously, at the moment, this is quite literally a personal passion project we're both committing own resources to.

1. User season-long statistics:
- Accuracy % (# of correct picks / Total picks made)
- Average odds of picks
- Average winning points (# of points in correct picks / # of points already used)

2. User active matchday statistics:
- Points still in play (not settled out of 10)
- Max possible score (Points in play*odds)

3. Comparison feature H2H
- user can select another user (maybe up to 3 users) to compare side-by-side.

These are all just nice things to have though, and will cost us to develop, so we'll probably add it to end of season for non beta v1 (provided this one is a success!).  Something that is always an issue is how late UCL starts -- both players and sponsors get what I might call fatigue. Many players responded saying they had too many pools already. Sponsor, as well, already spent their budget on pools and various comps. Can't really fix that but if we could present a tested product that we can "sell" to sponsors, to help them get more value out of the comp, maybe we get more successful with sponsorships too.

Something other items very non critical but I wanted to pursue was some kind of H2H component, some kind of cooperative component, and some kind of (even more) weighted risk component. But without a fixed # of users, and of course more work required from josue, very hard to implement on our own haha. In due time for sure!

We can say that theoretically everything is possible, then it will depend on the complexity required in this implementation, which may make it not very viable in the short term. Logically, with more support (if you know what I mean  ), it will be more motivating to dedicate more time to the project.

I would say that this season will serve as a gateway to attract more sponsorship and this will make everything more interesting for everyone. Perhaps at the beginning of the year, start presenting the idea to potential sponsors and in turn allow them to immediately want to support the event.

I would like to keep developing the idea and make things bigger and more interesting. Your feedback will help along the way. 

In relation to this idea of ​​statistics and analysis, I have to think better about how I can implement things. The ideas are good and I liked it, I promise I will analyze it and try it in a few weeks, I may have news.

Furthermore, I still want to understand if the things we have already done are working correctly, before implementing new things. So let's wait and see how another round or two goes.

I didn't know I am second in Pot B as I just checked the leaderboard there and it looks good, I know most probably most people have played other games and maybe will go much further but I am happy so far with an over 15 points this week as I found every game correctly yesterday but the problem was that the odds were low, I was just testing the system and next match day I will make sure to play everything on over goals, should be netting huge profit if caught successful picks, much different than money line and I don't expect huge surprise in money lines like an over 12 to win any game this season although any thing can happen.

In Pot A is early to judge but I know from last season that consistency is key in such pools, when you are not consistent you will not make it to the prize spots, as simple as that.

Hey, yes! I tried PM'ing you twice to make sure you entered picks but don't worry, many, many more rounds to do so. Many will end the round with 0 points I'm sure too, so you aren't exactly without hope =)

For UCL, we decided to have 2 different competitions, and divided the cash prizes into 2 pots. Pot A is the typical Superbru Outcome based picks (predict the final score). I see you in the pool, but did you put in your picks? It's not too late for tomorrow's matches.

And Pot B is our own format. It is odds-based, where you pick outcomes using points, winning the corresponding point * odds. Just think of it like you're given a bankroll of 10 points every match day and using them to bet on games. The higher the odds, the more you win.

Just follow the instructions I sent you, if you need more help or guidance, let me know we can sort you out before Match Day 2.

We have first goaless draw of season between Bolognia and Shakhtar and 3 0:0 games with 15 minutes remaining. C'mon, City, PSG, Girona, Dortmund and etc, what's wrong with you? And offcourse it happens when I went with plenty of over 2.5 goals, both in pool and betting. It won't help to get good result for me...
EDIT, Dortmund just scored their 1st goal.

Dortmund saved the day I think together with Celtic as they found the net several times while a lot of both teams to score no where yesterday almost all games were both teams to score yes and also many over 3.5 goals yesterday while tonight goals were missing. I never expected such a disastrous play from Salzburg, if I remember correctly they have made some upsets against a very strong Benfica last season or the season before and tonight they were crushed by Sparta Prague without a response and they don't even try to. It is just the beginning in the pool so let's wait and see yet draws in here have rewarded the top guy in the Pot B as they have big odds, of course they are rare to get so for me this is just a coincidence and over the long run won't work at all.

Haaland is only on fire in fantasy while in UCL it does not work at all, last season also did not set a good record for Haaland.
I wonder how PSG's lucky goal at the end went? Girona goalkeeper blunder again?

I am sure had some insider criminal information for that match Bayern Munich vs Dinamo Zagreb with Over 6.5 goals.  
There is no other reasonable explanations for his actions, but Strongkored is ahead of him now in leaderboard.
I didnt expect Bologna vs Shakhtar to end without goals, but is was a strange day in Champions League.

In the Bologna - Shakhtar game I played under 3,5 goals, which is marked as incorrect and no points have been awarded because the correct answer shows as 'no goals'.
In such cases where you have 2 correct options covered by the same result there's either a mistake in the formulas or this one has been rated incorrectly manually - I'd bet on the first one.

I know everybody's afraid of me due to last season's heroics, but it's a bad idea to steal from Mafia.

While I can categorically say I’m beginning to trust Barcelona again with Flick, I don’t think I would have backed Barcelona just yet against Monaco.

Barcelona sure have started the season in a great fashion, way much better thatln what we’ve seen in the last several seasons, but so has Monaco, they’re unbeaten in the French ligue 1 after 4 games too, and they defeated Barcelona during a preseason match.

I have to eat my feelings about Flick, I really loved Xavi, I think he was our soul and our spirit but credit to this German guy, he chose to sit back and not boss around too much, and most importantly, he refuses to be sucked into the media drama. Xavi didn't know how to do that.

Monaco have a crazy offence btw and now they got rid of Mbappe +++ it is a proper team. Both teams have highest xG in UCL IIRC, can't wait for this match. I just really really wish the timings are not so weird, every year for UCL I have to sacrifice sleep for this lol

To be honest, I forgot to risk the points in this match, and being able to get enough points in this match is quite surprising.
The remaining one match was chosen to be able to add point but not quite sure Arsenal vs Atalanta will also end without a goal.

You're right, it's something to do with having two correct outcomes in one question. Josue's getting on this, but I'll make sure we manually mark and settle all points in 0-0 draws (where Under and No goals are possible outcomes). As a coincidence, we were already looking at questions with more than 1 possible outcome -- it will come in handy with the latter rounds where there are fewer games. The final comes to mind.

We would never think to cross Cro2 Nostra... would we?

I don't want to get hyped too much early, but things that we see in the beginning of season looks very positively. Can't wait to see tonight's game with Monaco, probably it will be our most serious test this  season so far. What is a bit concerning is loss of Olmo for month because of injury, he is one of key players in Flick's schemes.

The other part of my brain said, shouting "you need some big odds also to win or make a gap in this Pot" and that is true, but i cant still find one.

I have gone for relatively safe options, I think you can get a prize position going for the supposedly safer options and regularly hitting them but the big money in this pools is usually won when people go heavy on a long shot a couple of times and get lucky.

You can try for the latter but you’re most likely to lose that way. I prefer to go for the safer options but you’re more likely to get a prize spot that way although probably not 1st, 2nd or 3rd.

I think if you are consistent enough you can hit the 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize with the safer options, I mean last year 2-3 games ended in a really super surprise results and the people hitting those were near the top of the prize spots and even won first prize if I remember correctly yet I don't think this season we are going to see the same as I doubt we are going to see huge surprises in this format especially when you don't know who will you play next as you always play other teams here so yes going for the safer options or going 5 stakes each 2 points for over goals can net you good results over the long run here, so far no one talking about Pot A, I know it is early but that pot is important too.

Probably because its still the 1st round after all. Once everyone is ahead of you, your brain might start racking the highest odds you can find on the site. Anyway turning 10 points into total of 16 points is pretty decent after all when most will probably get below 10 points

Im currently sitting on 0 point myself. I need Leipzig to win for 19+ potential points that I will get and Arsenal as well but that will only get me around 7+ points so the main highlights would be to hope for Leipzig in my case

Well, I said that's a bit early to get hyped too much about Barca. Starting Champions league with a loss, maybe not the end of world, but now there is less room for mistakes remaining.
That red card is fault of both Ter Stegen and Garcia. It was very cheap mistake which can't be made on such level.
Didn't expected that Atalanta - Arsenal will end without goals. And Brest - Sturm Graz doesn't sound like Champions league at all. Maybe not even Europa league, maybe just Conference league . But not saying that they don't deserved to play there.
