Haha, sorry about your pot B picks for MD5. I missed the first two match days for Pot B and got hit with -5% fine so I'm working my way to the top of the table.   

For MD5 round, I just went with 3 picks and max bet my points on them. I think it's much more rewarding to just go for 1-3 matches with mega odds and just max bet on them rather than spreading everything across the board and hoping for the best because there would always be upsets.

Imo, any odd less than 1.5 is just a waste like that Barcelona straight win option.

The 5% penalty doesn't seem like much now but it is compounding, so maybe I can afford 1 more before I have to be more careful.

If you get 100 points, 5% is 5 points tho, so I would say the risk is only happening if you have > 100 points.

So if you bet like you and me and we get a bad streak, we end up not with 0 points but -15 points.

Well, at least you get to keep your top spot for pot A. And yes, 5% fines will have more bigger impact if points is bigger. The goal not to end up with 0 points even of my baddest days — those few points will come in handy when it gets to the ending stages of the tournament.

Juventus is often playing so passively, but you may take a shot here. I think all the time that this series of negative events for Manchester City has come to an end, but then it gets worse and worse. It's impossible for a coach to make a statement as if he's given up on this competition, he motivates the players... even if it's downhill the coach will say higher than his expectations.

I'm the same way... this season looks like it belongs to Liverpool at the beginning of the journey but I won't ignore the fact that even if Real Madrid joins the play-off zone, it could be this team that wins sometimes their mentality is greater and they are able to bounce back.

To be honest my heart is not in Madrid's favor.

We are probably the most in form team in Europe at the moment but like you said, the season is long. A couple of injuries, a few star players being in bad form and it can change quickly.

I would love for Slot to win the CL this season but there are so many good teams. I think often you need a lot of luck to win the CL. I am hopeful but not expecting to win it. I try to just take it one step at a time. Let’s finish top 8 in the pool stage and get a favourable draw for the last 16.

LolI won't be surprised if they eventually improve in the knockout stage, which is why I don't want them to advance and allow another team win. They have a specific juju in this competition that works every time; they have never been the best team in the knockout stage, but they always find a way to survive. I've always new it's not ordinary, it's strong juju

I'm actually at my lowest frequency in maybe 6 or 7 seasons in terms of betting, just so hectic with my schedule, but man, to get zero freebets from all the pools must be some kind of record! Shared one last week, don't you worry I'll share my ka-chings here when they happen.

City have been the favourites for about 4 seasons... Real has been the outstanding value every single season. Yet I've never taken them haha. Actually only won the Liverpool outright once (the Spurs final) and it paid for all the other seasons Klopp didn't win. Shame I didn't see Slot coming like this. No more value in Liverpool outright.

I am hopeful but not expecting to win it. I try to just take it one step at a time. Let’s finish top 8 in the pool stage and get a favourable draw for the last 16.

My approach as well, brother. One game at a time. Same as in every competition. It's something Klopp instilled and I hope Slot reminds.

iirc Mbappe start around the same time on PSG with Neymar but France literally worshipped him like a King there hence he was the penalty taker. As for Messi, he was basically a new guy in PSG

Mbappe took a penalty against Liverpool and he couldnt slot it to the net, he was playing pretty bad on that game as well. There were also various report that some players were basically ignoring him outside of the game after that specific game with Liverpool so yeah everything just went down south from that. The fact that he was playing for full 90 minutes against Liverpool while having that poor performance was amazing.

He probably let go of that position to earn some respect from his fellow teammates. He is basically a new guy in Real Madrid, he cant be having all those extra special treatment just because he is the most 'expensive' player on that team

And he didn't really pay them back with respect, tbh, I followed them a bit mainly because of Neymar and Messi links to Barca, but yeah, Mbappe still won them everything basically on his own in many ways so well deserved.

Mbappe's two missed penalties are actually worse than it sounds. Both were weak shots, rather than missed. Which to me is worse because missed shots imply a misstep, miskick, too much power etc. Weak shots are a sign of low confidence and no determination.

Ancelotti has to take away his PK duties until he's back in confidence. They can't afford to lose another CL game

Afaik, ever since Benzema left they didn't have a clear penalty taker. That is, until Mbappe came. So maybe that's why Ancelloti is not so fast to give it someone else (Bellingham or Vinicius are obvious choices if he decides to change PK).


A crucial match for Dinamo next week, beating Celtic is a must if we want to reach the second round. However, that's much easier said than done. With several important players injured and our shitty form, I’m not too optimistic. Still, you never know with us this season.
