The remaining one match was chosen to be able to add point but not quite sure Arsenal vs Atalanta will also end without a goal.

Well, I said that's a bit early to get hyped too much about Barca. Starting Champions league with a loss, maybe not the end of world, but now there is less room for mistakes remaining.
That red card is fault of both Ter Stegen and Garcia. It was very cheap mistake which can't be made on such level.
Didn't expected that Atalanta - Arsenal will end without goals. And Brest - Sturm Graz doesn't sound like Champions league at all. Maybe not even Europa league, maybe just Conference league . But not saying that they don't deserved to play there.

Ter Stegen was a part time disaster today, he was really nervous and looked extremely unsettled, he was ditching out wrongs passes, coming off his line a bit unnecessarily or awkwardly punching set pieces into a far more dangerous area, at some he just kept repeating the 3 mistakes simultaneously, I guess the early red card took away the chances Barcelona could have had to dominate the match tempo.

But man your no goals picks were crazy, took some risk and well played obviously and they paid off big time. I didn't actually check for those extra bets for those games. I saw the one on Bayern Munich - Dinamo Zagreb and I thought it could be possible that more than 6.5 goals are scored, but then was not brave enough to take the risk. But no goals in those games you went for is pretty impressive. No goals in the Atalanta - Arsenal game would have never come to my mind ever.

Showed up late MD1. Managed to grab 8 points. It's not the best but I'm beginning to understand how to play a bit more and will have full predictions done for next couple of games. Only Tuesday games were the easiest to predict — I didn't expect:

— City to draw at home.
— Arsenal to play goalless vs Atalanta
— Barcelona to lose, really?

Hopefully it's upONLY from here for me.

In the Bologna - Shakhtar game I played under 3,5 goals, which is marked as incorrect and no points have been awarded because the correct answer shows as 'no goals'.
In such cases where you have 2 correct options covered by the same result there's either a mistake in the formulas or this one has been rated incorrectly manually - I'd bet on the first one.

You're right, it's something to do with having two correct outcomes in one question. Josue's getting on this, but I'll make sure we manually mark and settle all points in 0-0 draws (where Under and No goals are possible outcomes). As a coincidence, we were already looking at questions with more than 1 possible outcome -- it will come in handy with the latter rounds where there are fewer games. The final comes to mind.

If everything goes well, by the end of today, I should have this situation resolved.
I just ask for some more patience.

Awful game from Ter Stegen and I don't remember last time I saw this being so poorly in UCL games and I think it's fair to say he had a big contribution for this defeat but also the entire team of Barca was lacking the passion of playing football and actually win. I also think that even without that red card , Barca wouldn't have been able to win against Monaco and a draw could have been the final result.

Can't wait to see tonight's game with Monaco, probably it will be our most serious test this  season so far. What is a bit concerning is loss of Olmo for month because of injury, he is one of key players in Flick's schemes.

You were right. But if I want to defend my team. It is the fault of our glovesman, if you play with 10 men for 80 minutes, against an offensive team, you are guaranteed 2 things. Sacrifice attack, and giving more chances. This exactly happened, we couldn't attack as much and had to defend so much more.

2-1 was not a bad result away to Monaco, it could have been worse. But man, I lost all my points here. Thanks god the system didn't allow me to put everything on Barca lol.

Good question but I think the rules already say, it is a 5% penalty on your total points (that's your leaderboard Total), not round/Matchday score. So if your Total is 0, you get no points deduction. A user with 0, can feel free to YOLO all the way and get 0 points again. If you collect a total 100 points after 5 rounds and get 0 on Round 6, you get -5 point deduction (5% of 100). If you get 0 again on Round 7, you get a -4.75 deduction (5% of 95). This is how the formula's set.

This penalty is actually already a deterrent to YOLO players -- based on the feedback of many who don't like what they did. If you think it pays to YOLO in the first few rounds, then you should go for it

But personally for me, without any additional deterrants, the odds-based system is already on a balanced scale. All things equal, odds reflect a balance of risk-reward. So I personally wouldn't have introduced the penalty.

But many people wanted to deter YOLO players, so because we try to be democratic (haha), we reflected it in 2 ways:

- a penalty if you score 0 points per round
- a max stake per pick

The YOLO'ers risk a lot, in return for a lot --  safe players risk less, in return for less. That is... fair! If I were one, I'd be complaining and asking also for deterrents for "safe pickers". Now, we are penalising these guys who now must take the risk reflected in the odds plus the penalty risk. Let's not further nerf what should be a perfectly acceptable strategy.

On the other hand, we'll definitely ask for more feedback end of season -- and really appreciate it as it comes. If a majority still want further deterrants, we'll likely listen.

Also, apologies for the bugs. You know how it goes, you test it and then everything you didn't think about arrives on MD1 =) don't worry, we'll make you whole (you and others who got affected).

Well It might pay off on the start when you are still 0 points by racking decent amount of points but considering that there will be only 4 points max on each bet, anyone that win points with the YOLO methode wont be really ahead by much unlike the previous season. Someone could have gotten over 100 points by now if they bet all 10 points on no goals if it wasnt limited to 4 points max though

Is the leader board up to date? I think I have seen seen strongkored on 40 points when I checked yesterday from work and now I see him in second place with 20. I think those 40 was correct without doing much research.

I was fiddling with the platform, to contemplate when the goals question has two correct options. At the moment, this adjustment has already been made.
@buwaytress just needs to check that I did everything right. He is now using his super analytical eye to check everything. 

If you find any errors, please let me know.

It's difficult to take 5% points from someone who has zero points. 

To help you understand how the 5% penalty works, I will explain the logic applied.

MD1 - 100points
MD2 - 0p (100p-5% = 95p)
MD3 - 0p (95p-5% = 90.25p)
MD4 - 50p (90.25p+50p = 140.25p)
MD5 - 0p (140.25p-5% = 133.24p)
MD6 - 0p (133.24p-5% = 126.58p)
MD7 - 10p (126.58p+10p = 136.58p)
etc.

My question now is, last year's winner had 180 points. Do you really think that someone who only answers one round and who is lucky enough to get the maximum score in all their choices, will earn more than 100 points? I have several doubts. Only if you make two bets on 4 points, in a multiple of 20 or 30. What is the probability that these multiples will occur during the competition? I doubt.

I believe the leaderboard is now correct, and the points now show correctly for games with multiple correct outcomes. Appreciate the fix on a Sunday. Now let's see if MD2 can proceed smoothly

There will be more options for the latter stages (more markets), so don't worry

The penalty stacks. So you of course get more points gone if you have multiple penalties (while having positive Total). As josue demonstrates, you will lose more points getting more than 1 penalty. So it's really not the same risk

I'll demonstrate another comparison of a "safe player" vs a "yolo player" who use different tactics to win points. And how the penalty will punish the YOLO guy more.

Player A, wins 100 points, say for 5 rounds consistently gains 20 points, and in round 6 gets 0, he only suffers 1 penalty.
R1: 20 (20)
R2: 20 (40)
R3: 20 (60)
R4: 20 (80)
R5: 20 (100)
R6: 0 (100-5=95)

Player B, also wins 100 points but by YOLO-ing, hitting 50 points in 2 rounds, getting a penalty 4 times (3 times after having a positive total).
R1: 0
R2: 50 (50)
R3: 0 (50-5%=47.5)
R4: 50 (97.5)
R5: 0 (97.5-5% = 92.625)
R6: 0 (92.625-5%= 87.99)

It is just the nature of PotB, it rewards YOLO strategy. You are never gonna win PotB by playing safely, no matter the penalties. On the other hand you are never gonna win PotA by picking upsets. They just require totally opposite strategies.

What you called YOLO here, I call value. Point is to find that pick that just looks priced wrong to you.
