Manchester City vs Bayern Munich is a game I really look forward to. The champions league is one trophy that city sole desires, last two seasons they came close but were denied by Chelsea as the blues won the final. The citizens has won all domestics trophies in England but are yet to establish their footings in european football. A home win would give them much confidence into the return match at Alianz Arena. But the question is will city have an easy one against Bayern? This is Bayern and the champions league is one trophy they know how to win.

I doubt Manchester City in this match even though many people seem very optimistic about Manchester City's chances of winning. Of course, it is still very difficult to justify the results of the match because this match is expected to be fierce for both teams. Bayern Munich are team unbeaten in the Champions League since the group stage, their defense is very strong and that has to be the basis of why I doubt Manchester City's home match.

The meeting record of the two teams seems to be the same, they have won and lost each other in 6 meetings. Pep might have won because Bayern Munich was a team he had worked with for several seasons, but now Bayern Munich is a very different team. The match will be in 20 minutes, but I'm just curious about Haaland today.

Analysing the starting lineup of Bayern Munich

The line up of Bayern Munich is impressive and can match that of Manchester City comfortably. But the notable things are;
1. Cancelo is on the reserve in his return to Etihad.
2. Mane and Muller are on the bench. I don't know.if Tuchel wants to be playing Sane over Mane and Gnabrry over Muller. That of Muller is understandable but I don't understand the reason behind that of Sadio Mane being played from the bench.

If we see that Tuchel will play Muller in the second half after seeing Man City's defense. Bayern will play with an attacking system in the second half. Bayern's attacks are less dangerous without Muller. In addition, the level of passing accuracy is also very low. But City will play by relying on counterattacks. Guardiola will make Erling Haaland the spearhead when counterattacking.

Yes it was a great first half and full of chances, the goal of Rodri was spectacular from a far hard shot which brought the advance for Manchester City and more domination and confidence for the rest of this first half, in the other hand Bayern Munich also had couple chances to draw the score but couldn’t make it and i see that their coach Thomas Tuchel is playing with counter attacks on every chance they bring back and also focusing on attacking as their defense weapon which tells us that the Bavarians came today to win the match.
As you said Bayern Munich already lost a lot this season and wouldn’t risk to lose early on Champions League as well, they will play their best on second half which is going to make it better than the first 45 minutes is we going to see a more open game on the side of Bayern and more chances for City to score the second goal to kill Bayern chances.

There seems to be no mistake about why Manchester City are favorites in this first leg, their form was good and it was very interesting. Leon Goretzka hasn't shown his best quality in controlling the midfield and it's still quite difficult to keep up with the game, so the ball flows more from the left and right flanks when carrying out attacks.

If you are that optimistic about Bayern Munich, then I should be that much about Manchester City.
Indeed the match and the winner will be decided in 90 minutes, but I no longer believe in Bayern Munich only after they sacked Julian Nagelsmann. Tuchel has never been the same as Nagelsmann who so far this season has been able to maintain a winning record in the Champions League, and for me Tuchel is a setback for Bayern Munich.

At the moment there is still at least 20 minutes left for the game, it looks like Pep is really careful in this game. KDB had a bit of a problem and he was immediately rested so that his condition would not get worse because indeed if he is injured then it is difficult for Pep to try in the Champions League and EPL of course because both are still quite important for them.

I am not opportuned to watch this match because I am on a long distance transit but the result I saw as City is leading by 2 goals is what I expected and nothing less.
I wonder why Mane was played from bench and he is now introduced and I know he cannot change the game by now. Manchester City is not a team you make a come back at easily.
It is better you score them first, but when City scores first. It is a big problem for anyone to come back.
I expect there to be both teams to score before the match ends.

I had always believed that Manchester city had a better chance qualifying than Bayern Munich, although I agree it would be a tough match.

It did not go as I thought it would and Manchester city are practically walking all over Bayern Munich, this is becoming a very simple game as the are up now by three goals to no goal from Bayern Munich.
