Manchester City vs Bayern Munich is a game I really look forward to. The champions league is one trophy that city sole desires, last two seasons they came close but were denied by Chelsea as the blues won the final. The citizens has won all domestics trophies in England but are yet to establish their footings in european football. A home win would give them much confidence into the return match at Alianz Arena. But the question is will city have an easy one against Bayern? This is Bayern and the champions league is one trophy they know how to win.

In the first 40 minutes it is a nice game, a lot of powerplay and the 1:0 was a beautiful goal. Bayern maybe win the championship in Germany, but they were knocked out of the German Cup. If they are knocked out in the Champions League, there year will not be a good one. I think today it could be a 2/3:0, City is close to scoring the 2th goal. It's fun to watch the game, Benfica vs Inter is not interesting for me.

Well, so far until the 40th minute Manchester City have good control and Manchester City managed to lead with a score of 1-0. So indeed, I think there is no doubt that Manchester City's quality is still better than Bayern Munich at this moment, so it's no wonder that Manchester City can score goals in the first half.

Yes, indeed, Manchester City also has the advantage of playing at home, but I don't think that is the main factor for Manchester City to play well in this match. In Estádio da Luzi Portugal it's still a goalless draw between Benfica and Inter. Inter will be pleased if the game ends this way. The home team just had one shot on target while Inter has none. The game is not as ambitious as the game between City and Bayern.

The second half will come with a lot of technical calculations and adjustments. Both coaches will have to evaluate the game and come up with new strategies. I think Bayern Munich might step up their attacks to at least get a goal in this game.

I doubt Manchester City in this match even though many people seem very optimistic about Manchester City's chances of winning. Of course, it is still very difficult to justify the results of the match because this match is expected to be fierce for both teams. The meeting record of the two teams seems to be the same, they have won and lost each other in 6 meetings. Pep might have won because Bayern Munich was a team he had worked with for several seasons, but now Bayern Munich is a very different team. The match will be in 20 minutes, but I'm just curious about Haaland today.

Analysing the starting lineup of Bayern Munich

The line up of Bayern Munich is impressive and can match that of Manchester City comfortably. But the notable things are;
1. Cancelo is on the reserve in his return to Etihad.
2. Mane and Muller are on the bench. I don't know.if Tuchel wants to be playing Sane over Mane and Gnabrry over Muller. That of Muller is understandable but I don't understand the reason behind that of Sadio Mane being played from the bench.

If we see that Tuchel will play Muller in the second half after seeing Man City's defense. Bayern will play with an attacking system in the second half. Bayern's attacks are less dangerous without Muller. In addition, the level of passing accuracy is also very low. But City will play by relying on counterattacks. Guardiola will make Erling Haaland the spearhead when counterattacking.

Yes it was a great first half and full of chances, the goal of Rodri was spectacular from a far hard shot which brought the advance for Manchester City and more domination and confidence for the rest of this first half, in the other hand Bayern Munich also had couple chances to draw the score but couldn’t make it and i see that their coach Thomas Tuchel is playing with counter attacks on every chance they bring back and also focusing on attacking as their defense weapon which tells us that the Bavarians came today to win the match.
As you said Bayern Munich already lost a lot this season and wouldn’t risk to lose early on Champions League as well, they will play their best on second half which is going to make it better than the first 45 minutes is we going to see a more open game on the side of Bayern and more chances for City to score the second goal to kill Bayern chances.

Statistically, so far there has been no shot on target launched by Bayern Munich.
Of course, we are expecting some fruit to occur in the second half so that the intensity of the game is more balanced because in the first half, Manchester City really enjoyed their game.

There seems to be no mistake about why Manchester City are favorites in this first leg, their form was good and it was very interesting. In the first half alone, Manchester City had a good chance to score 2-3 goals, but Yann Sommer was still able to save it. After that, I agree Rodri's goal was very good and probably one of the most beautiful goals in the quarter-finals this season.

I hope few more goals come during the second half from Manchester City, meaning they have to create a safe position so that the chances of qualifying for the semi-finals are really good. The second leg will definitely be more difficult at the Allianz Arena, but because Thomas Tuchel is the coach of Bayern Munich, I think Pep knows how to handle it.

Bayern is going a good job so far keeping Haaland down, but the problem with him is that often times he only needs that one moment and then he scores even though you don't see much of him during the game. He is never sleeping and permanently keeps the defense busy. When he doesn't do it due to chances, he does it because of being present. That's enough to raise the pressure.

It is a deserved result thus far for Manchester City. It is also a good game from two teams that are introduced very well by their coaches. Chances are coming in for Bayern.

Manchester City played more defensively than Bayern Munich, Pep Guardiola did not use a total attacking strategy and the goal was scored through a shot outside the penalty box by Rodri. Leon Goretzka hasn't shown his best quality in controlling the midfield and it's still quite difficult to keep up with the game, so the ball flows more from the left and right flanks when carrying out attacks.

Tuchel still has a few players on the bench and I think he should make the most of the midfield, so that Bayern Munich's attack is more concentrated and able to reach open spaces for the attackers. Let's see how Tuchel tries to make changes in midfield and attack.
