England came into this game guns blazing in about the 10th minute in play. It was so intense that u almost felt a goal coming and that would have been disappointing. Its the finals and no early goal is supposed to be tailored to the game. I don't intend to see a goal in the first half and sure looks as though we wouldn't.

Southgate seems to have done a good job with having Shaw closely mark Yamal, the tactics have to some extent impeded the 17year old not to have those free chances and much run with the ball. The defence on both end has been tight and we seem to have a proper finals in these two.

It is very difficult to predict what will happen in football. Spain is a quality team, but so are England. There are no major differences between the two teams on paper. However, the first half was very boring, Spain in possession of the ball constantly trying to get through the English bus, but they do not succeed. Towards the end of the half Spain started to play through marquees, which I think is always a last resort. Let's see what will happen in the second half, I really hope that the English will start to play more bravely, not like cowards who are huddled in their penalty box.

It's halftime, both team have had half decent chances but nothing significant yet, this game will indeed likely come down to the tiniest of margins, I don't know what to expect in the second half, because so far it's still anyone's game. Introduction of Luke Shaw into the starting lineup have been of positive impact to England defense, he's done a really impressive job on Yamine Lamal so far.

Spain is practically having the upper hand in this game at the first half, distorting the England defense from both wings. Thanks to Look Shaw and Walker for they doing a nice job defending their positions. Spain need to add more pressure with their possession of the game. Maybe change the crossing pattern and start striking outside the box. Perhaps the second half may take a different face when England make some substitution bringing in Cole Palmer, Eze and Watkins.

It has been a very good first half and as expected,  Spain played better than England with 66% balll possession against England who have 34% ball possession. Unfortunately,  Spain have been unable to convert any of their chances to goal. The match have been mostly played within the territory of England who are doing more of defending than attacking. However, England have also made some attempts on goals and Harry Kane had a powerful strike that was blocked by the Spanish defenders. We are looking forward to a fantastic second half to know who will left the trophy.

Spain has the possession but can hardly properly penetrate the English box 18. They need to be more creative to overcome the English defense. Walker is doing a very good job stopping Williams from unleashing mayhem on the defense. Williams changed wing and he still changed with him to continue his checkmating his excesses. Nice display from the gallant defender.

Saka is invisible in this match. I think Southgate is lacking the good choice of players to put in this match. He really needs to introduce Palmer to have a proper impact on the Spanish defense and create something good that can really convert. I'll propose he removes Saka and put Palmer for greater effectives of the forward.

The England team are more for defense and less of attack while the Spanish side are doing both but more of the attack. As it is, Spain are the better side to win the game but then you never can tell;  this is football and anything can happen.
 It was an interesting first half no doubt but a game where there was only one shot on target means either of them needs to double the pressure in the second half and England needs to score more than Spain because it's obvious they are not really good at penalties in finals, judging by what happened to them in 2020.

I think now It was time for Southgate to bring down their ace (Palmer) in the second half to make the difference to disrupt the Spanish defense later.
