I agree that the one to be blamed is the main coach (Southgate) IMO, because basically England is a team with so many talented young players but he failed to manage the team well.
He is relying too much on Kane/Bellingham/Saka/Foden for the front side, he did not brave enough to gamble with his squad, I mean to make a big change on the lineups.

I don't agree with you on blaming Gareth Southgate, his tactics where logically and the team defended quite well, Harry Kane lost out at some point in the game, but that was as a result of the way the Spanish defence keep him amd jude Bellingham. Kane is a player that stands as a threat on that Spanish defence wether you agree or not, because if the opportunity presence's itself, trust me he will score perfectly. In my opinion, the games of both teams in the first half were boring, you could see how they were very careful because they didn't want to make mistakes that could have fatal consequences for them. Spain dominated the game in the first half, but England defended well enough for them to play safe and end the first half without a goal.

Harry Kean wasn't performing frankly speaking yet Southgate couldn't get the courage to keep him on the bench and utilize Watkins who was still doing better in the competition. I personally don't think England played more relaxed after managing to equalize the score at 1-1 because in my opinion, England still played well but unfortunately Spain had a good moment to score a goal. When you look at the statistics, you'll know that Gareth Southgate have been England's most successful manager in over 20 years now and that's why I don't expect him to be sacked anytime soon. I saw like 38-28% (rest for ET) chance for both teams and I think that's quite likely result, I would say that 40% or so for Spain to win and 30% or so for England to win is still possible. That gives England a chance to win too, nobody says they have no chance, they have a good chance, just that Spain has a higher chance if you ask us and I think that's a reasonable thing to assume.
