It's good to see Pacquiao back in the ring even though it's a promotion fight. It's obvious who will win in this match. I've seen a few videos of DK Yoo on youtube and had no idea he is a martial artist. As long as the fight's proceeds go somewhere else and it will benefit those who are in need it will be worth promoting. I am really not a fan of exhibition match since most boxer who does this do it for the money, take Mayweather and Logan Paul for instance. If you retire from boxing keep it as it is, stop for good and stop going back just to make some money. Not to mention most of it are scripted.
There could be hard fans like you who doesn't want exhibition matches, but what can you do? this boxers will need to earn money again, and in this case, easy money as this is the only way they know how to make ends meet. So Mayweather and Paul Brothers started this whole even, but as you know, Floyd is very smart, taking fight after fight and in just matter of minutes earning millions without having to sweat it out, like Jake Paul recently against Anderson Silva. I don't really see any reason why the fans would be against such fights. It's not a continuation of a career, it's just another activity. With their fame, they could go on a cooking show and make a lot of money too, but the best ex-pros can do is in the ring, so it's not surprising that they end up there again. It is necessary to separate a professional career and everything else. Boxers, even if they ended their career at the age of 40, cannot go to a monastery for the sake of remembering themselves as just a pro and not doing anything else.

I think some of the proceedings of the fight will go to charity, I think that means pot money - charity before distributing the agreed ratio of the reward money of the fight. Manny still needs money, reason why he is still active in boxing, if he does not need the money then he shouldn't be pursuing exhibition fights. I don't think it is because of the fans, the reason why retired boxers such as Manny and Mayweather are doing an exhibition fights.

Despite of those opinions I see where you are pointing your statement and it can't be denied that those fighters who are making their presence inside the ring again also aiming for money, maybe they've got some other reason but more on the money side that they can make more and they will be able to support their financial needs. Charity is a big part of Manny's pursuing his presence. As we know, after his political career, he continues to provide from those charities that he established and continues to support.

I'm under the impression that the money earn by the Korean will go to his pockets and not to charity as compare to Pacquiao. But it's not going to be 100% for the charity I reckon, Manny need to pay some people as well in this fight. But regardless, it was really good to see Manny and DK being chosen as his first exhibition opponent. So that's already a big money coming for him and maybe DK will still continue to fight in exhibition matches in the future, at least to earn some good money for him.

This will make him popular because he is fighting the only 8th time division world champion. Winning the fight is not necessary, but at least he just have to give his best to make it an entertaining one, it's just an exhibition game but it needs to be a clean fight where we will see a clear winner.

So Mayweather and Paul Brothers started this whole even, but as you know, Floyd is very smart, taking fight after fight and in just matter of minutes earning millions without having to sweat it out, like Jake Paul recently against Anderson Silva.
It was Logan Paul and KSI that started all that exhibition fight or boxing with celebrity thing. The main popularity of exhibition fights or "unusual boxing match" kind of thing started from Floyd Mayweather vs Conan McGregor fight. They have created all that hype around boxer vs "other non boxer" fights. But, if their fight was more or less competitive, then other fights are only to get money. Exhibition matches were already present in the early 2000's but it's so rare that people already forgot about it. Floyd Mayweather started it again 15 years after with Connor McGregor and then these Paul Brothers suddenly surfaced and followed by creating their exhibition fights as well. Until it became hyped that almost all retired or near retirement phase fighters started calling each other to make an exhibition fight, and that's when things got ugly because the true essence of boxing has been forgotten as fighters and promoters are already chasing money.

I remember on Russian television there was a show where celebrities were having boxing fights. Similar to an exhibition fights between pro boxer again <other guy>. The outcome of that show was predictable - the guy who has trained boxing in childhood (but at 40+ or 45+ y.o. during filming) won against younger guys. I completely believe in case, that Mayweather and McGregor were those who pushed exhibition or unusual boxing fights on such a hype level. Not Paul brothers, not Muhammad Ali and. Antonio Inoki, not any other guy.

But as far as boxing is concern, we already know who will going to win, and from this start we will expect more from Pacquiao, The venue for this new money making business will be wide as we know that there are fighters who will love to share a same ring with Pacquiao.

There's no doubt about it. Pacquiao will not gonna agree on this deal if there will be script that he needs to lose the match due to his status. I wonder if Pacquiao will gonna show an extreme fight on this match because we all know him that always showing mercy if he knew that his opponent is already not capable to give him a fair fight. He is not like Mayweather and other pro boxer that has no mercy inside the ring. Just a little bit off-topic here. What the Pacman Mayweather match will finally come through on this kind of exhibition matches but instead of boxing they will fight on UFC octagon for a change.

That's why they are fanatics, because that how they wanted their famous boxers to be, retired for good. But times has change, although there are exhibition fights before, it was not that prominent as today, it was Floyd who really started this trend. And I agree that even if this is scripted, but as we can see, fans are willing to pay huge amount just to see their favorite boxers in the ring. I'm not sure though you comparison about the monastery, . They are still human and need to do and still make some money for their family. Comparison with a monastery means "to get away from the outside world and not to remind oneself." This is the dream of fanatics in relation to their idols, since in this case only a professional career remains, and the person himself, as it were, disappears. But it is clear that sports stars are not interested in this, since in modern conditions they can earn as much in one exhibition fight as athletes earned in their entire careers 20-30 years ago. And this is not due to inflation, but due to the fact that the media market is growing at a rapid pace and the earnings of all its participants, too.

Well, yes, they cannot deny that fact. Their main agenda is money and that is always the driving factor why they are still seeking some fights even if they are already retired, they are just taking advantage of their status. Even Manny Pacquiao have his own agenda why he suddenly announced that he will be returning again, he said that he will be giving it to the charity and that is true, but I seriously wouldn't believe that he won't take a fraction for himself.

Yep! even though Manny is not in politics or has a position in politics giving something to charity is always his thing every time he will win the game or even he is being defeated in the game. But even though he is allocated his earnings to charity , I wish he retire from boxing I am just worried to his health he can still help other people , I know that boxing is his passion but he should consider his well being.

Best explanation so far for those people who are against exhibition fights that the legendaries themselves are making. We cannot really stop them if they wanted to make that happen because they loved the sport and that's what they've been doing since their teenage years, also, they can still make millions from it. So, let's say that you're one of those legendaries, wouldn't you make the same decision too? I bet you'll say yes.

Some do say that they arent needing money specially for Pacquiao and we are seeing that all of the winnings would be given on a charity which is commendable but i dont know on DK yoo but most probably he would really be pursing it out but of course its just part of the business which is to make money for living. For those who dont need then it would be mainly applied on charitable works but for those who are earning for living then pretty sure they would really be doing all sorts of things just for them to earn, even on making yourself do fight a boxing legend. Same with you, part yes but he will still get the big one for his own needs. if there are still people who wants to see them fighting then the exhibitions will ontinue to happen, promoters needs to create hypes to bring the possibilities into the fans eyes, using social medias is the great channel to start the smoke, and with how successful those who offered exhibtion fight, following the footnotes will bring them more success deals. Yep! even though Manny is not in politics or has a position in politics giving something to charity is always his thing every time he will win the game or even he is being defeated in the game. Yeah and that's maybe why we see an unknown name for his exhibition fight, sorry for my word but maybe S. Korean fans knew Yoo but his name is not that familiar to many, Pacquiao's camps also considering his health and they make this deal for entertainment and not to do a tough fight in an exhibition match.

He's already retired and same with others legend boxers we do know but still they are really that accepting or setting up these kind of exhibition matches which we know that it would really be entirely different if you do compare out on a real official match when we do talk about health risks. So its not really that something to make yourself worried. They do know on how to avoid fatal hits which could really possibly make them suffer some problems.Just like you said about MP to have these charitable works or actions then he had been doing this on his career which is something commendable and not every boxer could do such thing.

Aside from money, it is definitely a joy for Manny to step on the ring again and entertain his fans. A person that experienced the limelight will always want to be in it. That is why even a boxer is retired, his wants and interest to be in the ring never fade. Charity is a big part of Manny's pursuing his presence. Yeah, Manny is one of the few that I really admire when it comes to generosity. He is always open to help people in need. It is proven during the pandemic when donated Php 2B (estimated around $34.5M @exchange rate of $1=Php58) of his personal wealth to the government's effort to contain the pandemic.[1]

DK Yoo has a bold prediction ahead of his exhibition fight with Manny Pacquiao in December. The Korean believes that he will ‘win with the jab’ against the experienced Filipino southpaw. SourceThis had me laughing! I know that DK Yoo and Manny Pacquiao will do their respective jobs in marketing their future exhibition fight but this self-proclaimed Korean master of almost all martial arts should also know his boundaries and choose the right words because he surely doesn't want to be misinterpreted by Manny Pacquiao himself as that will bring embarrassment to him soon. I mean, seriously? Win with the jab? hehe. Let’s see if he can really do fast jabs to Pacquiao’s face, or it might be the other way around. Although I must say that the name DK Yoo is not really familiar to me, but I guess his premonition towards his opponent is something that I think a lot will disagree. This “Pambansang Kamao” from the Philippines will surely not allow for that to happen, so DK Yoo should also know his boundaries.

This “Pambansang Kamao” from the Philippines will surely not allow for that to happen, so DK Yoo should also know his boundaries. It looks like DK Yoo is so fond of his found new jab skill. This time it looks like his jab throws are pretty decent unlike in his previous exhibition fight. Well, I can say he gotten better on throwing punches but I do not think that is enough to KO Manny Pacquiao. Though it is really clear that the height advantage of DK Yoo is worth noticing. Their photo during their face-off last Oct. 11, in Seol, clearly shows the huge height advantage of DK Yoo. This would be a huge advantage if DK Yoo is a veteran Boxer and do just like what Ugas did to Manny Pacquiao in their fight where Ugas took advantage of his height and reach advantage. But of course, it is quite impossible for a beginner to do the same thing as the veteran boxers do.
