It's a mixed report though, others say that he is going to be back in the ring and try again, but obviously, he is just playing it 'safe' in this exhibition matches. And I think majority here will agree that it's better for Manny to retire in the professional level, he has nothing to proved anymore. Let the younger generation took over the 147 lbs division, we have Spence and Crawford and others already.

So we will see him in the ring again, but it's just a exhibition match and me being a fan, I'm cool with that.

And maybe there will be more exhibitions for him in the future.
But there are no valid reports of Manny returning for pro fighting, but I hope Manny has his last professional fight before retirement, maybe he can fight boxers not much different for his age. Exhibition fights will increase his skills before he plans a big fight for the championship fight. I'm sure he will end his boxer career for the biggest fight.

I don't know what's valid to you, but there were indeed several rumors and articles about Manny's possibility in returning to professional boxing, and this rumors came directly from Manny's camp. I cant say, it make sense if they use this exhibition match to assess Manny's boxing skills at this age. So, most probably Manny will take this fight seriously like he's fighting a professional match, so the team could fully assess on whether or not Manny continue his professional boxing career.

Here we go again. Is this the itch of a fighter? Or is this something that the people around Manny Pacquiao are cooking so that they will make money? Or is this Manny Pacquiao wanting to to come back because he badly needs money? Whatever the real reason is, we will see how he will perform against DK Yoo. This is a very easy opponent for him if he is really training hard for his ultimate come back.

To be fair, 43 is not that old. But he will have to be very picky of his opponents. And he will probably just become a stepping stone for younger boxers. That would somehow destroy his legend.

He can comeback if he still thinks that he can compete, Manny retired because of a bad loss but he always has an excuse, so maybe he wants to be convinced that he cannot win anymore before he will finally retire. Money is always the main reason, whether they'll admit it or not, but as a fan, we should be welcome with this kind of decision as we all know that Manny is an entertaining fighter.

manny is already a politician and he agreed to this fight because of his concern for Ukraine, so winning or losing is not important to him because this is not a fight for a belt but a fight to raise money for a social cause.  this fight will be run as entertainment only, we will definitely see manny looking serious but he won't take this fight too seriously (i'm sure you get what i mean)

Money is the big influence, if the offer was too good to expect that he might return inside the ring. Though by his age we might no longer see the same speed that he got, that loss from Ugas was already the indication that he is no longer in his prime, those excuse are valid since his body on his age now is simply reflecting, he can't avoid those cramps and the slowness of his flexes.

We might see some combos, but for sure he will avoid throwing solid punches, as he is fighting against a non-pro fighter.

Money still has a lot of money he is still listed as the richest man in his country he still has a lot of properties, he may have spent a lot of money in the last election but he is still a big celebrity here he can do an endorsement and make millions, his coming back in the ring is for the love of the sport, boxers when they retire never leave the sport, they stay as a trainer, manager, coach, announcer or matchmaker for money since he still has it he chooses to do exhibition because he can is capable, his fans will surely love the exhibition match.

he is not the richest man in the Philippines, maybe the richest celebrity but not the richest man.

Manny is rich because he gained a lot of money being a champion, however, he doesn't have big businesses that will produce big money for him to sustain his luxurious living, so hopefully he will be able to manage his finances well so he will not struggle in the long run.

This fight is for a good cause, and at the same time adds money for him.

In the latest survey, Manny Pacquiao is indeed the richest celebrity and the richest athlete in the Philippines. Not the richest man because his latest net worth revealed that he's only worth $220 Million, the richest was valued at least $12 Billion. Many believed that he is at least belonged to the top 10 but when I looked him up, his net worth won't make it if he's not yet valued at least $1B.

Anyway, yes, that's more than enough to sustain the grandkids of his kids. And as long as they have business that will help maintain their status, the whole Pacquiao family will continue to have a lavish lifestyle for decades.

If Pacquaio is losing against a big name boxer like Mayweather, he wouldn't mind about it. But DK Yoo is really unknown since he's from MMA and he haven't coached a good MMA fighter that can qualify for UFC fight, so he's literally just a local MMA coach. I think the script is make Pacquiao will win this fight since he said he will back in professional career after he won this exhibition fight. Also there's no bookies added this fight which mean there's no hype.
Is Pacquiao really thinking about making a comeback to professional boxing? Because as incredible as he was as a boxer I think his best days are behind him and maybe it is a better idea for him to embrace his retirement, after all an exhibition fight does not have anywhere near the same intensity as a professional fight, and even if I still think he can beat the majority of the boxers in his division out there, it would be difficult for him to beat a champion.

I hope that is the case because just as you said I do not think he has anything to prove, the guy is a legend not only in his country but all over the world, and so far he seems to have escaped most if not all the side effects associated with boxing, so he should be glad that not only he got all of those accomplishments but that he still got his health to enjoy the rest of his life with his family, unlike what happened with Ali.

There are people who cant really just forget on what are the things that made them great or known which this do shows that even Pacquiao is retired, he do still try to engage himself in correlation with the sports

which is boxing which i dont see anything wrong. Its true that on other peoples words that he should have quit up and never tend to go back up again on the boxing ring as he's already that aging or old

which its true that health is really something that should really be need up to protect and not something you should abuse up but since this is an exhibition fight then it
wont really be that serious and we know that opponent isnt something a boxer itself so no worries.

I think after DK Yoo he also set another exhibition match against one of his sparring partners.  This might be one of the rumors about Manny Pacquiao returning to ring in 2023 and yet it is still an exhibition fight against  Jaber Zayani his sparring partner when he fought Keith Thurman. The event will take place in Saudi Arabia in February 2023.[1]

Yes, he has a schedule already for next year and it will be in the Middle East. And it seems that Middle East or Saudi has been the place of this exhibitions like Floyd and then pro fights. They are trying to make Saudi a boxing hub in that part of the world and so I'm not surprised that even the legendary Manny Pacquiao is willing to travel there.

So this is not a pro fight for Manny, and I doubt that he will make a comeback very soon. For sure, he made a promise to his family that he won't go back to the ring again because it is a brutal sports.

Yeah I think we won't be seeing any pro-fight for Manny Pacquiao soon, these two fights, just like the earlier reply stated, is just a testing waters of Manny Pacquiao if he still has that stings before doing any pro fights again.  If he does we might see a tune-up match first (another test if Manny is still capable to fight for the world title), because jumping to the title fight ASAP might be disastrous for Manny (without knowing his present condition against a pro boxer), because his opponent will be the best in that weight division.

If his fight performance (Manny) isn't satisfying, he might be stuck in exhibition fights.

He cant never have those pro fight considered that he had already retired.
Manny Pacquiao Retires, Saying ‘My Time as a Boxer Is Over’

Just like those retired boxers or legends then they are really just making themselves get involved with exhibition fights which is similar to this.
Fight counts arent official or cant be counted which is a usual thing.

That statement and decision from Manny Pacquiao are way back in September 2021 when around that time, he is currently aggressively active in his Presidential campaign for the 2022 Presidential Election in the Philippines and almost all his time was dedicated to it. Not enough focus on boxing led to one of the reasons why he got defeated by Yordenis Ugas in the same year.

After losing the election, Pacquiao shows interest in boxing exhibition matches starting this year. There is a series of interviews where Manny still shows interest to return to the ring and come out from retirement now that he is now more free time and is away from busy politics.

Just a few months or weeks ago if I'm not mistaken, Pacquiao said in an interview that he is interested in facing the winner of the supposed fight between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence which we all know didn't materialize. Not saying Pacquiao will come out of retirement but I'm sure he's not really decided to retire at 100% at this point.

This is just my opinion, but I think he might be just testing himself in this exhibition matches if he still has what it takes to go up in the professional boxing again. Maybe the fire is still there for him, however, his body might be telling otherwise, so he needs to test it in his first 2 exhibition match.

If he feels good, then I have no doubts that he will come back again as a professional and fight bigger names in the 147 lbs.

So let's wait and see, if he still the same Manny or he is old enough not to go and fight against the top champion of super welterweight, Crawford or Spence.

We don't know if he will come back for real or he is just using it or those who are behind him to promote his upcoming exhibition fight.

Whatever the decision fans are everywhere, Pacquiao will always have a special part inside his fans heart.

The desire will always be there for a special fighter like Manny, during his prime he was a force and we are all amaze by this boxer and for sure majority of us starting to follow boxing because of the great Manny Pacquiao. But sooner or later, every great fighters has to return at least though when he retired he was healthy with no damage to him.

But we can't really tell at this point that he will comeback to fight again inside the pro ranks.

He will have to consider many factors that only he can answer.

The desire inside him in fighting with the real fighters are still intact, though as for now he consider taking his own journey with exhibition match, maybe he's checking if fans still have that interest for him, but now that he's starting to do his routine drills and he maybe feels that he can still fight and maybe he can still upset pro fighters.

In my opinion, he better enjoy his retirement and leave pro boxing for good.
It is fine doing some exhibition matches from time to time in order to support his causes.
At least with exhibition fights, the rules are different and his health won't suffer much.
Maybe the interest of fighting these new younger champions is still there, but he should consider the capability of his body at this age.
Or maybe he is testing his power with this exhibition fight and decide what's in it for him afterwards.

Not really, so we believe that Pacman will just be okay with losing? Which is more important, Pacman's legacy or DK Yoo's business? I guess both have important name to protect, so they will try to win to stay popular, so I'm hoping there's no script to follow.  Smiley

He will be slaughtered there. He is not quick anymore; he is already too old for Professional boxing. He should just stick to exhibition games where his health is utmost importance. If Manny wants to die in the ring, he should go back to professional boxing, otherwise, stick to exhibition matches. He can still earn money, be in the ring without the risk of getting countered heavy and ending up in the canvass knocked out for a few seconds. He is a legend but even legends have limits specially if you are already too old for the sports. It is not like chess that even if you are senior citizen, you can still play it. For professional boxing, 38 is too old and Manny is already 43.

If he insists to play pro, I think he is being duped by others around him who just want money from him without thinking the risk Manny will be facing in the pro ring.

That is bad assessment since he is not fighting a real boxer in the exhibition. Even if he takes it seriously, the competition is a joke. It is better to assess him against sparring partners that are also professional boxers even when they are in lower tier against him. In esports, it is like assessing a player against an AI and not on ranked games.

This is a better assessment but I wish it was not an exhibition fight. Just duke it out in the ring without camera and see whether if he is still fit to fight pro or not. But most probably, with Manny's age, he is not fit to fight anymore.
