So far, the playoff games are going in the boring manner that I expected. There are very few even games, and tomorrow we are also unlikely to see them.

Yeah, so far there was no chance to see any upset. Underdogs wins is fun thing, but on the other hand now we will have TOP games in 1/4 finals like Argentina - Netherlands or France - England. Tomorrow I don't expect to see drama in South Korea - Brazil game, but Japan - Croatia should be interesting.

Unfortunately, you were right and at the moment the score is 1-1 and the game is mutually dangerous. In the pool, I predicted an easy Croatian 2-0 win, but realizing that there is a risk in making a cash bet, I opted for Croatia to qualify. By the way, the coefficient was not so low - 1.51, I hope Croatia will do it.

I was in this category and if I am not mistaken this is first time I received 3 points LOL, it does not change anything though. The pool is dead for me. In the extra time I think it will finish with goalless and in the penalty Japan might get advanced. If they do then the job for Brazil will be easier.

Edit: Croatia withdraw Modric means they are not going to try to score in the extra time. They are saving his energy for penalty shoots.

Breathe easy, Cro2. Took a scare and penalty disappointments from Japan to get you through but you live another day. Was very hopeful my 2:1 would get ticked but by the time the game entered late, seems like both teams were happy to go to penalties. Quite a few 1:1 picks in the pool, well done there. I am looking forward to Netherlands vs Argentina. If Argentina wins which they should then there is a high chance to see a Brazil vs Argentina. But before that I have my popcorn ready and going to watch Brazil to win by at least 2 goals difference in the next 150 minutes. If I was to gamble then I would go for 3 - 0 for Brazil to win to get a good odd.

If by an accident Korea win then Semi is guaranteed for Cro2 and gang again but this is unlikely. Brazil is not going to give Korea any chance.

just realized that I haven't put Croatia and Japan 1:1 in the pool, which would almost certainly do, if I had any chance to get into paying spots
since I am pretty much down after second round, I just filled all favorites to win, and that is it

Watching this Brazil vs South Korea game & it’s not looking good for the other teams in the tournament. Brazil just seem to have the perfect blend of attacking flair, solidity & creativity. They just look so ruthless, even if they do concede the odd chance, Alisson looks near unbeatable.

I can’t see anybody beating them, they’re looking better & better as the tournament progresses.

England is a very tough opponent and will be able to keep up with Brazil (I'm not sure it's France). England is an unbeaten team since this world cup tournament started.
In the 2020 Euro Cup, France was not a tough team, only England made it to the final but this time they will face England! I'm not sure whether France will be able to withstand England's power.

Brazil team is such good and equal that they can rotate players even 1/8 final game without lose of quality and even let 3rd goalkeeper to play. They answered all questions against South Korea just in 30 minutes. And with all my respect to Croatia, they doesn't looks like force who can stop them in 1/4 final.
I regret that I didn't predicted draw in Croatia - Japan game, but I just hat to go with draws, especially in knockout stages. Before game I don't saw that any of these teams have advantage, but still decided to select Croatia win. In penalty shootout Livakovic was hero who let Japan to score jsut one goal.

I know everyone is expecting to see Portugal and Spain going in next stage, but I have my doubts in both of them winning their matches.

not sure that Morocco could upset Spain, but they did not lost match so far, and played Belgium and Croatia, so would not count them out easily

Spain is expected to progress, but after rapsody against Costarica, which defense is obviously non-existing, they did not show much against Germany and Japan

Portugal has slightly better chances than Swiss, I would not call Swiss underdogs here

I changed that 1-1 to 1-2 in the last minute because I never thought Croatia to have problems beating Japan but Japan I think has been a nice surprise in this World Cup and I think that is as much as they can go,to go in the quarter finals instead of Croatia would have been something I would not want to see.

There is no underdog favorite in the Spain game as I believe you are referring to that,the only game where a small surprise can happen is in the Portugal game yet I think we will not see a surprise even there,in the Nations League Portugal won against Switzerland in summer.

This is a misleading impression, as often bright teams lose to closed disciplined ones. For example, if Brazil played with Germany, then I would consider that the chances of the teams are equal (even though the German national team has obviously degraded in recent years), but unfortunately Germany has already been eliminated from the tournament. I think that Brazil will easily beat Croatia, but then the most interesting thing awaits us.

We already have couple perfect QFs. England vs France and Netherlands vs Argentina.
Both England and France have total football mindset. For me it will be hard to pick one to win. In the other match, Argentine attack vs Netherlands defense. May be it's Virgil and his deface line against Messi and his forward line. I will give advantage to Messi and his forward line.

Brazil vs Croatia will be another Brazil vs South Korea to be honest.

If it doesn't pay off then people will certainly criticise him for it but hopefully this sends a message to Ronaldo that's he not bigger than the team. I had a Portugal win but I might have to rethink my score. I think it could be close either way.

Ronaldo is very close to fucking up his golden boy status this season and I'd like nothing more. Fantastic footballer but other than that a really annoying crybaby. Always has been, though.

Cancelo not starting as well - he wasn't playing bad so that one is probably due to an injury.
