Ryan Garcia has an issue regarding on his past depression so lets hope this will not came up to him and he don't take those lose as total big deal on his career since he can bounce back after that big lose of his career.
He just need to learn from what he experience to Tank Davis since it can help to his career if he strive more to became more better fighter and let that lost as big learning experience to him. Maybe for now Gervonta Davis is to much for him and he should do better more once their rematch will be set to happen again.
He did? I didn't know about that. He is still young and I don't know what people at this age are depressed about. I mean, it's the part where you just enjoy being young. But yes, perhaps this first important loss will have an effect on him. He looks good at the post-game interview and I do believe he can absorb all the bashing that will come to him. At these bad times, his family, cornermen, and gym friends will help a lot to boost him again and point him in the right direction which is getting over it and being better on his next fight. There's so much room for improvement in that young kid. If he can just strengthen his right then he will be unstoppable. Other boxers will have a hard time finding his weakness.

What's important is that he makes a lot of money in this fight. https://www.sportskeeda.com/pro-boxing/news-how-much-gervonta-davis-make-ryan-garcia-here-s-estimate-fight-purseHis opponent Garcia is set to earn a guaranteed purse of $2.5 million. However, his actual payout will be much higher since he is expected to have a 50 percent stake in the pay-per-view numbers. The former WBC interim lightweight champion might see a pay-day of nearly $5 million. His career is not yet over. There's still more to come for him, and he'll be able to recover from this big loss as long as he knows how to accept defeat. With that attitude, a big fight will surely come for him again. There are many great boxers who are not undefeated, and Garcia could be one of them.

^ Yup... The guy's young, he's practically still a kid as far as his fight age goes because from what I know, he didn't really have any tough matches against fighers that are in his level. I think he should toughen up and fight more of the top guys in his weight class. Anyway, I'm a bit disappointed. I really thought Garcia was gonna take the match to the late rounds. I expected him to be more durable than what he showed up there... :/ And because I had a small bet on Davis to win via decision. Lol.

Definitely, he will do that once he comes back from his vacation. If he considers his loss as inspiration, he will try to push his limits and become better. So, maybe the next time he fights Davis in the ring, he will be a better Ryan Garcia. Anyway, I'm a bit disappointed. I really thought Garcia was gonna take the match to the late rounds. I expected him to be more durable than what he showed up there... :/ And because I had a small bet on Davis to win via decision. Lol. I didn't expect the fight to go 12 rounds since both fighters are heavy punchers, and a KO was highly anticipated instead of a judges' decision.

It's not that Ryan will be affected or has been affected by this big lost, for sure he can make a comeback again as he have said in the post fight interview. And he has give us a hint that he might go up in weight class as obviously he looks drain at 136 lbs + rehydration clause of 10 pounds in fight night. Might take some time for him to recovery, but he promise that he will be back. Rematch with Tank is out of the picture as 135 lbs.
Is a rematch still possible? I thought there was a clause or something that stated that no rematch would happen if Davis wins. Yes, you're right. That specific rematch clause was just a one-sided clause because that can only be activated if Gervonta Davis gets defeated versus Ryan Garcia, which as we all know didn't happen, so that might not be possible as for now. But in the coming years, whether if it's at 135 or 140, I think it is possible if fate permits to have these two meet again in one same ring.

Garcia just needs to continue working with his skills, enhancing everything to be more ready when the time comes and opportunity is open to fight back with Davis. He's still young and he can use that as an advantage to keep doing what he thinks is best for his career, the lost to Davis can serve as learning process. He needs to analyze and practice whatever he thinks he is still missing. That way, he will be able to adjust and improve.

What happened should be a motivation for Ryan Garcia to improve more. He still has a lot to go through in case he would be facing huge boxers in the future. It will be nice to see them in the same ring again but it will be more exciting if Ryan would prepare well so he could manage to counter the strength of Tank Davis. I agree that Ryan is still young and still has a lot to develop in time. Davis is undeniably undefeated and he always prepares well to give his best shot in the ring. Ryan has a huge potential to beat huge boxers in the future if he will be eager to develop his stamina more.

...And with that win, I shoot up Tank to be my #1 p4p list, followed by Naoya Inoue.
How about everyone? What do you think of Tank's performance here, are you with me ranking him the top p4p boxer right now?
Jeez, mate! You need to relax and take a breath. You just got carried away by the popularity of Tank and Garcia. Tank just beat another undefeated prospect. Only that it is more popular than his previous cherry-picked opponents. Garcia is not a world champion. Tommy Fury beating popular Jake Paul doesn't mean he is on the same level as champions Opetaia, Okolie, etc. Tank's never been in The Ring's and Transnational Boxing Rankings Board's top 10 pound-for-pound. And his win against another undefeated yet unproven and non-champion Ryan Garcia won't merit an entrance to the top 10 let alone at rank 1. No, I'm not, that's how I see it though, but at least let Tank be in the top 10 now. I just check Ring's list of p4p and I saw Juan Francisco Estrada at number 10. Nevertheless, might be the start for Tank to really up his opposition, maybe he should really fight the winner of Loma vs Haney. Barring boxing politics and network affiliation, this could easily be made. Although Tank was asked this question if I'm not mistaken, but he didn't answer it directly. While Haney said he is willing to fight Tank next. Let's see how it goes, as I have said, this performance will at least break him in the top 10, IMHO. Josh Taylor is number 9 when he has a very close fight with Jack Catterall and almost lost that fight. I cannot really imagine how Tank can enter the top 10. His resume is just too weak that he is not even worth mentioning in the top 15. Tank is only a 1 division champion, that's it. And he was not the lineal champ when he became a champ at 130. He's never been in a unification fight. His best win was over former champ Jose Pedraza where Tank took the IBF belt. The best name in his resume was Yuriorkis Gamboa but that was not the quality version of Gamboa. Or maybe Leo Santa Cruz, a 4 division champion. LSC though despite being a 4 division champion will never be mentioned among the greats since he was a product of politics and corruption. Probably the only fighter that was given the privilege to fight for the vacant belt in 4 divisions. Without politics and network affiliations, Tank still can't enter the top 15 or maybe the top 20 as well since those Japanese multi-division and unified champs in lower divisions have more achievements and there's also Shakur and Haney. El Gallo has had a lot of big wins over the years to his credit and his defeats were close, against the very best, and were avenged. He is even rated #6 by TBRB. Josh Taylor had an off night against Catterall but that doesn't change the fact that he became undisputed. And Taylor did not take all the belts in only 1 or 2 fights just like Haney who was only elevated as the WBC champion and only unified it once to Kambosos. So Tank really needs to mix it up with the top dogs in the division instead of picking the top most talkative ones. He's campaigning at 135 for years now yet he never even tried to fight for the belt. It would've been easier to arrange a title fight before when they were not fully unified. Now, all the belts are in Haney's hands. I am not sure if The Ring really worked independently nowadays but it is supposed to be independent, free from conflict of interest and bias. There are doubts after Golden Boy Promotions purchased it, even if there was a promise that it will operate just as in the old days. The acquisition though led to the creation of the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board. And I also consider TBRB as the most reliable, although they only recognize lineal champs in divisions and do not award belts like The Ring.

I think Ryan has overcome his mental issues already, since that one went into public, he has made a comeback already and now it's just the best boxer won in this fight.
I hope Ryan Garcia can bounce back from his loss to Tank Davis. It was a huge loss for him as he thought he was the better fighter and could knock out Tank Davis, but the opposite happened. It's crucial for Garcia to win his next fight because a boxer who was previously undefeated and suffers their first defeat may not have the same level of confidence they had before. It would all depend on how good his next opponent would be and how prepared mentally and physically he would be at that time. Although Ryan is probably successful in his mental struggles as he has already managed to come back, train hard and focused on the gym, it is possible that this first loss could trigger a little depression. But it's always great that his family is always around him and is very supportive. He needs to take a good deal of recovery time, builds himself stronger especially mentally, before getting his next fight at 140. That's it. He needs to ensure that he is ready when he comes back so that he can start winning again. As of now, the debate is over. Tank Davis has proven to be the better fighter, and Ryan Garcia cannot trash talk him anymore, as we have already seen how strong Tank Davis is. Garcia is definitely not on Tank's level yet. Yes, Tank is better than Garcia. This should not only silence Garcia in trash-talking against Tank, he should also be silenced in some of his arrogant trash-talks about him being the king, having been defeated by no other boxer, etc. He is defeated. He is even knocked out. And the knock out was humiliating in a sense because he was the one who refused to stand up, even if it was impossible to stand up. That is already something to some fans and opponents. Although we can say now that Garcia is not on Tank's level, I really wonder where Garcia now if he hadn't faced all those challenges in his life which distracted his focus on boxing and affected his entire career.

Nah, he'll be alright. He didn't look disappointed after the fight, and he knew inside that Tank is really a tough fighter and that he could lose. We hate him because of his trash-talking ability, but in reality, that's what you call effective marketing on his side. So let's just hope for the best for Garcia, who suffered his first defeat. I'm confident that he'll come back strong soon!

It's still a win-win situation on his part because at the end of the day, he will have a guaranteed millions of dollars as that fight was dubbed as the mega-fight of the year and don't forget, that same fight made a history to be the first event in T-Mobile Arena that generated almost $23 Million just in ticket sales alone. Besides, Ryan Garcia also he knew that he will not be fighting again at 135 in the future and will pursue his career in the next weight class that is currently dominated by the former undisputed champion, Josh Taylor.

That could be a good fight for him, as he'll surely be more comfortable in that weight class. Choosing an opponent between Tank and Josh Taylor, I think he'll have a better chance against Josh Taylor. However, it will not be that easy, as he is coming from a loss, and he will be starting in a new division, so he needs to improve his ranking first before he can have another championship fight. At least he can learn from his experience on his first defeat. It's not easy, but it gives him a reality check that too much trash-talking will not help him improve as a boxer. As of now, let's just wait for updates on Ryan Garcia. This man deserves a little rest after that big fight, though.

We will see in his next fight. We can only hope that he will be all right and he will quickly recover and do beautiful boxing once again. He still got a lot of fans and he can still offer a lot in terms of boxing entertainment. But I don't agree that he didn't look disappointed after the fight. He actually looked down and weak in the interviews right after the fight. And that's normal. He was showing disappointment. The first words that he uttered in the interviews right after the fight was, "it's disappointing."

I think Ryan should change his trainer he put up a very bad game plan, Roy Jones summarizes it by questioning who told Ryan to stalk a puncher like Davis, is it Goosen his trainer or he just acted on his own, Ryan has to change the way he boxes the head is always stationary he has a big left hook fighter who lacks ring generalship. I believe Ryan still has a future in boxing but it is hard for him to be as great as his idol Manny Pacquiao, he will meet another highly technical boxer with a good ring generalship and power punch in the future and he should prepare for it, now he knows what's like to fight in a big fight like this, he is 0 title against a guy who is 12 - 0 in a title fight, so the result is pretty obvious.

That's what I have thought as well, maybe Goosen did a poor job on training or at least putting up a strategy on this fight against Davis. Although in the pre fight conference, he said that they have plan A and plan B. However, we don't know if Ryan bypass it and just went with his own strategy which is to stalk a puncher like Tank and that his is downfall. His family is pretty close to Goosen though, then know each other so not sure if the Garcia's will look for another trainer or not. Remember that he was under the wing of Reynoso before he shift to Goosen in his last 3 fights.

^^ I don't know if that is a good idea for Ryan to choose another trainer/coach. Just look at Anthony Joshua, when he suffered his first lost and then change trainers or it went downfall for him. Back to back losses to Usyk and now if he wants to comeback, he will have a new trainer in his corner. So doesn't make sense as it is the fighter who will be on the ring and it's just the trainer who tries to bring out the best of the boxers. So for me, stick with Goosen, it's just Tank is the better fighter that's it. No amount of strategy can prepare Ryan for that fight and overcome and pull an upset.

...And with that win, I shoot up Tank to be my #1 p4p list, followed by Naoya Inoue.
{..snip..} Although recently, Tank is not listed by Ring as number 10 now. Maybe they just updated it to include Tank and removed Juan Francisco Estrada, and this is the first time that Tank is making it on the top 10. Maybe he will start to climb in the ranks now, depending on who he is going to face next. I know that p4p list is very dubious and it's very different across, SI lists include David Benavidez, Shakur Stevenson and Devin Haney. So we can argue that those should not be in the list as well, specially David Benavidez. So I guess the organization that released their list could have some reasoning behind them.

The first words that he uttered in the interviews right after the fight was, "it's disappointing." Certainly because he was really expecting to defeat Tank Davis and could use his advantage over the regular champion, I know he prepared for the fight which explains his confidence in their face-offs. But Tank again proved why he holds the belt and not him, for Tank, Ryan Garcia is just a mere challenger who happens to have a good knockout chance but his record is not really appealing because the guys he defeated is much weaker compared to Tank's record. Still, there is an enough time for Ryan Garcia to bounce back from this defeat. He is still way too young and what happened to him doesn't actually mean that his career is over. He already got the right advantage to anyone he will be facing, he just have to equip it properly so that he can pave a way to land that deadly hook.

Taking this loss as a good learning path to his career, so instead of changing trainer better to try finding what's lacking him and adjust to be more prepared in case he will face another fighter with the same level as Tank or possible if a rematch may take place. If Garcia's family has that close relationship with Goosen, it might be possible that he will going to stay and he will try improving his skills and add more to then again impress his fans. Improving needs time and it will be a good timing for him and Goosen to work it out and try to focus and stay with what's the fight plan if in case he tries using his own strategy.

Yes indeed no need to change his trainer since he will adjust on new learnings again so better improve things that needed to work on. Its just one lost and he can still work more with that to learn a lot of things om what he experience from davis, he need to grow up since that fight reminds him that there are more better fighter than him. Improvement really takes time but Garcia is talented fighter so for sure he can adjust and became more wiser after his unfortunate match.
