The negatives that I found are that the system is somewhat slow as it slows down the computer and the Internet, and this negative has become less after the last update, but it can be eliminated by developing the application in the future.

   I have checked the "Options" on the browser and went to the network settings. I am sure that I checked that Utopia is running and SOCKS v5 feature is enabled. I also made sure that SOCKS settings are configured correctly in Idyll Browser.

In order to work with socks, you have to press Tools>WebProxy and in the opened window you can open any site from anywhere in the world anonymously and safely. You just have to enter your query into the search bar.

It was very wise to let users readily back there seed phrase(s) and private key(s) .
I hope it gets implemented in the Desktop version.


Another further observation:

I think you implement within the Chat Lobbies, that whenever a post has been quoted already, a second user cannot quote that same message as well. Or maybe within a given timeframe.
I feel that this is an overkill for avoidance of spam, however it also makes it harder to comment on a post that has already been quoted.

                               Part 2 of my review

I finally was able to open the Utopia desktop app after multiple attempts, so I decided to quickly go on reviewing the whole application one after the other, starting from "File" section/menu. Clicking on File would open up a list of options such as: 1 My Profile, 2 Export Database, 3 Change Password, 4 Backup Private keys, 5 Wipe Encrypt Container, 6 uNA Database, 6 Lock Application, 7 Sign Out, and 8 Exit
Starting from "My Profile" option, when clicked it shows 3 different options I found quite interesting on the left side of the App, that's "Overview" , "Whois" and "Refer a friend". See image below:



* Clicking on Overview shows you your Avatar, uCode(which is more like QR-code equivalent for Utopia), Public keys, uNS and Nickname. The nNS is Utopia equivalent of DNS.
*Whois shows you almost similar information on Overview but arrange differently. I think the Whois for Utopia is an interesting and important feature.
* Finally Refer a Friend allows users to generate their own unique promo codes to share with those they wish to introduce to Utopia


Another interesting feature under File section is the option to Export Database which is the 2nd option after "My Profile". It allows users to export their data like Contacts, uMail, Files, Contact messages, Channel messages, and have the data encrypted and stored in a container called "Encrypted Container". This actually allows users to control their data which is really useful in a truely decentralized system but I was abit worried about what would happen to the data of those who fail to back them up. They will probably be lost forever just like you have on WhatsApp for failure to backup ones data. I wish the developers could make it possible for such user's data to be thoroughly encrypted and hosted by other users who are able to securely host all/most data on Utopia ecosystem... more like running full node. People who don't want their data to be hosted by others can opt out of this option.

Finally other list under the File option are  Private keys backup,  Wipe Encrypt Container, uNA Database, Lock Application, Sign Out, and Exit
 Those are self explanatory and pretty easy to understand, so I didn't bother trying them out. Though I wish I tried out "Lock Application" but noticed it was grayed out


Next I will hopefully be reviewing Edit and probably Search in the Part 3 of my review

Hello everyone, this is my review of the Utopia P2P ecosystem.
I installed this app on a Mac and it works well. The first piece of advice I would give is to pay attention to where you want your wallet to be installed so you won't lose it.

Design
I like the design of the app, it looks clean and it's easy to find stuff that you need.

Indicator of the popularity
I like an indicator of the popularity of channels, but I think an image of stars looks like an indicator of the rating of the group. So it's not really intuitive, but the idea is great.

Channels
There are a lot of channels on different languages and about different topics which are good, but I think you should group up some of these chats (for example by language) for people to navigate through them easily.
I see that you can use a filter to do it, but I think it would be better if there would be groups/tags on the left panel so people will see them right away.

UUSD
I like that you use UUSD as a stablecoin, but it would be great to see proof of reserves because I think most people won't use UUSD without it.

Merchants
Merchants have the same problem as chat groups, you should group them up. Right now it just looks like a random list of websites. It also would be great to maybe implement a rating of these merchants so people can share their experiences

Moderation
I think some sort of channel moderation should be implemented. There are a lot of empty chats that were created like 3 years ago with no people or messages in them. It looks like spam and is hard to navigate.

uMail
I recommend adding a user email on uMail tag, so the user can easily share his email with others. Right now it's not obvious what should you use as an Email address.

Login items
When I installed Utopia on a Mac, a new login item was added (so Utopia can be active in the background). I recommend you rename it because its name doesn't have any connection with Utopia so it might look alarming to some users.

Website
I also think that it would be great if you will update the design of your website. It has the vibe of an anonymous project, but it looks rough which might scare off some users. A new design will look more professional. You might want to add a light theme as well.

Conclusion
The idea is great, I see that the project is evolving. It has a lot of elements, but these elements have small mistakes. If those mistakes will be fixed, I think Utopia will be pretty popular among crypto enthusiasts.

First, I apologize for the delay in posting my review. Actually I have completed 40% of my draft last March but it was delayed to be completed due to some IRL matters. And here's my review:

1. Update the application.
After finding some flaws in the previous installed version (1.2.202 x64), I tried upgrading to the latest version hoping some of the features have been improved. It was a bit annoying at first because it had to go through several failed attempts (that's called netweok error).

I don't think I should re-download the raw(exe) file on the official site because there is no information about what I'm about to download is the latest version. If that info is also added it would be great.
Until finally I managed to get the latest version 1.2.334 and immediately explored inside.

2. Remember Me.

I don't know if it works to remember the login session or just remember the username. Because in previous versions, whenever I opened the app after it was closed and the PC was shut down for a few hours, it just remembered the username and required me to write my password to log in. Today after the latest version, I tried closing (killing the process) and re-opening iteratively with 5 - 10 minutes delay, it opens with login state. I still can't draw a conclusion about the time it remembers my login session. I'll update tomorrow once my PC shuts down, will it stay login as before.

3. Idyll Browser.

One of the features that attracted me. But unfortunately in the previous version I couldn't use it with the error in the picture beside, I even asked in the utopia lobby and no one gave me instructions. Luckily today, this post solved my problem.

Using WebProxy like the guide took me to Proxy.tt as the default page. I was thinking maybe it could be pinned on my taskbar so no need to open main app first. But it will only open a blank page (not proxy.tt anymore). Tried the first search with the keyword "u.is" and it doesn't seem too sensitive to find the web I mean, I have to write the complete address with the SSL certificate then I will be redirected to the right page.


My question is how do I make sure it is the correct url if it shows something like below? Also applies when I visit other sites. My concern is phishing sites.


4. uVoucher.

Some time ago I tried a uVoucher to share on utopia lobby chat, it seems someone has claimed it is very fast lol. The manufacturing process is also very easy with an easy-to-understand interface (I made it without looking at the instructions).

5. Poor Connection.
Like the reviews of other members before me, for some reason when using the Utopia application (both the previous and the latest versions) the internet connection becomes very slow even when using other browser applications. I conclude that this problem also affects the connection during the upgrade process (first point).

                     Part 4 of the review

So, I tested all the options in the "Edit" menu with texts from chats. And
after going through the menu which shows these 7 options when clicked: Undo, Redo, Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete, Select All..I'm satisfied as they all worked fine on the texts without any noticeable issue.

Then I moved straight to testing or reviewing the "Search" menu which contains Chat History, Chat Bookmarks, Channel History, Channel Bookmarks and Global Search.  To further simply things I subgrouped this list into History, Bookmark and Search in my mind.
I think I like how the developers group those History, Bookmarks and Search in one place. It will actually make it easier for members to quickly access the channels and chats they saved and are interested in.

Clicking on "Chat history" brings up the Utopia AI, and clicking on the AI brings up the Chats inside Utopia Channel, which is one of the few Channels I have gone through and probably done some chatting so far.  So, everything here looks OK



Then I clicked on "Chat bookmarks" but didn't have any chat bookmarked yet. I clicked back on Chat History to see if I could bookmark couple of chats I found there, didn't find any bookmark option after clicking my mouse. So I tried another section in the Utopia ecosystem called Channels and that is where I was able to use the bookmark feature to bookmark chat (including channel) which automatically appears in the Chat Bookmarks, under Search menu . So that also worked out fine for me



Then I tried "Channel History"... I guess the Channels I join or interact in will appear here.. But only the Utopia AI channel appears so far. I was expecting a channel I created the first time I joined Utopia January this year to appear also but it did not show, maybe it's not yet synced or registered on the Utopia Network.

I Clicked on the "Channel Bookmark" but didn't find the channel I bookmarked earlier after bookmarking a chat. Though it seems to appear in another section called "Channel Manager" under Tools. I definitely will keep trying to see if any bookmarked channel appears where I expected it to appear

Finally, one of the most interesting part of this review is the "Global Search". It allows users to perform search of any keyword inside the whole Utopia application. Very useful feature I must say assuming it's what I think it does. In my opinion, it's more like Google search for the Utopia Ecosystem. Just imagine if the developers of Utopia could make the Global search always available no matter where you visit on the Utopia application... And maybe even have an option to view search results that are ranked according to their quality.
I tested the global search by searching for the Word "AI", and interestingly it was able to bring up couple of sections that contain the Word & how many times the Word appears. The Chat section has the word appearing multiple times while it appears once in others.

Hello, a little late to the party but here's my Utopia Review.

I primarily used the pc version of the application, but have also used the android version although sporadically.

Design:
Unfortunately, this is not Utopia's best suit. The main interface gives off 2000 AOL chat room vibes which aren't necessarily the most appealing, especially in the day and age of streamlined and minimalistic UI design approach. I think it will do Utopia a great service to conduct an overhaul of their design, something that looks sleek, streamlined, less noisy and more beginner-friendly. No amount of tutorials will go across a user who is not eager to learn it, so to take every perspective into account, Utopia has to do something about their design.

Accessibility:
Although the tools you need are already at the tip of your fingers, and you're given ample tutorials to know the ropes within Utopia's main application, it still needs to be said that streamlining the design and the layout will help not only the users to easily find what they need without rummaging within the whole application. 

The Remember Me feature that you tick on/off upon signing in to easily access your account next time is a little clunky too, I find myself retyping my whole credentials over and over again despite knowing and remembering fully well that I had toggled the feature on. A minor problem, which I know the Utopia team will be able to find a workaround in.

The application is pretty much like a swiss knife of some sort, seeing as it has a variety of tools at its disposal, down to even giving users the liberty to change their messages, reach people from across the world, look up anything they saw in the past thanks to Global Search, and more. This for me is a good thing that I hope Utopia keeps and improves upon.

Communication:
One of the best things that the Utopia team implemented. Trading and swapping cryptocurrencies shouldn't be tedious in my opinion, and although I couldn't say for certain if whether the attempt made by Utopia is a success seeing as it is still in its infancy and there aren't that many channels in the network to play around with, it still warrants some sort of recognition for trying to chip the tree and do something innovative and usable.

I suggest that as Utopia sees growth in its userbase, particularly in the number of chatters in the network, they need to hire some moderators or train an AI program to scour for chats and monitor it, that way we can keep Utopia a safe space free from scammers, predators, and all sorts of bad actors that may relish in the relative obscurity and anonymity that this network provides.

Speed:
I find my PC slowing down sometimes when I log in and do whatever with the Utopia application running in the background. This is not a good sign as this will keep users with PCs and devices that aren't that powerful out of the application. Every app developer must have the empathy to include everyone into consideration. Utopia's application shouldn't be exempt from this.

It must be said however, that Utopia has some of the fastest processing of transactions that I ever encountered, so props to them for that.


All in all, the program is trying to do something, it just lacks the coherence and a visually-appealing design. Granted that these two issues are looked and fixed, Utopia will have a fighting edge over current P2P ecosystems in the market. With that being said I give Utopia a 2.0/5 score, they still have a couple of years to improve and expand their reach and I will watch Utopia's journey with great interest.

4. CRP also has a crypto card, so my only question is what steps will users take to have it?

Correct me if Im wrong but I think crypto cards are just virtual cards that users can use without exposing their public keys.

Installation is smooth and with no complications, it really implies anonymous communication as you only have to input your name and password. I exited the app multiple times and it automatically logged me in. I just hope that maybe you can add security questions just in case a user forgets their account?

It’s great that have the option to show the welcome screen on the start of my computer. I don’t if it was just me but once I accidentally closed that app, I can’t open it again. I have to restart my PC.

Utopia offers a personalized experience to users like the theme selection, avatar, and crypto cards. I find it necessary to have fee so we can help with the growth of utopia ecosystem and prevent network flooding so can we add more color options. Just kidding.

In order to for me to have an access to the Utopia wallet, I need to go to their website 1st. This is my impression when to the UTOPIA website: The UTOPIA website layout is simple but very effective. I like the edited video in their homepage, you will get curious and you want to finish it from the start to end. I really like to compliment it because that kind of video is very hard to make and it really requires a very good creative skill to execute it. Even though there are a lot of graphics, it is fast loading and it is very easy to navigate the site because of the sidebar. The design of the Utopia Website is very professional and well done. I really love the Statue of liberty that is going up and down in the right side.

As for the UTOPIA PLATFORMS:
You can download it through Windows, MacOS, Linux and Android. I downloaded it in my windows and android.

Before you can create an account, you need to first READ, AGREE AND ACCEPT THE TERMS OF USE. If you click the terms, you will be directly going in to their website. Next step is creating your utopia Account. It is consisting of nickname password and confirm password. The first name and last name is optional and it is what I like from it.

After you created an account, it will generate a new private key then the push notification will pop up if you created on android, but if it is in windows there will be no push notifications. After that you will choose private key or seed phrase. I think it is better to choose seed phrase than private key and write it in a clean piece of paper. If you login, there will be a popup sound and you will be in their dashboard welcoming you. If you don’t want the welcome start on the screen, you can turn it off by clicking at the green button. As well as the automatically start on OS start, you can turn it off by clicking the green button.

There is also a Selection of UI theme:

I do not like the white and classic light because it is like an old school program, great to have a Dark and classic Dark UI theme. It makes the platform clean and very professional. As for the Key features, Utopia ecosystem are offering their customers with 6 features and these are Umessenger, Umail, Uchannels, U wallet, Mining and Idyll Browser. Note that, as for my knowledge, this is my 1st time to see a crypto wallet with this kind of feature so the Utopia ecosystem is very unique because of their 6 key features.

Reviewing the Dashboard:
By the time you are in dashboard, at first look it is very confusing. But once you take a very careful look you will see the detailed information regarding the Utopia. Actually, it takes me some time just to understand the whole platform. At the dashboard you will see the message from the Utopia team discussing who they are and what they do. You will also see the announcements of the Utopia regarding the new updates.

Reviewing the Channels
If you access the channels, you will see the Utopia chat lobby. This is where you can find the community using the utopia and this is where you can also contact the customer support if you see any bug or if you want to ask some questions. There is no problem when it comes to chatting, and you can easily tag someone by just clicking to their name or profile picture. The only problem that I see is that, it is not active because there is a huge gap in terms of hours of replying of the members there.

Reviewing the wallet
It is simple and it is easy to navigate and understand because of the sidebars

Reviewing the channel Manager
The all channels are good, you can either create or join channels. The pros of joining the channel is you can get knowledge and information regarding the crypto trading, programming, signals, games, news and even information about Utopia. Your friends can also create a private channel where you can communicate privately and securely

My conclusions: The app is good when you finally understand it because you will get confused when you see it at the first time. The UI is a classic website design the I really like that the Dark theme because it makes the website very lively. As for my suggestion, the main Utopia lobby is like a dead lobby because the time gap between the chat of members have high gap. As for the mobile app, they do not have wallet yet so installing it is a bit waste of time because you can only access the channel. I hope that Utopia team will update the mobile version and they will put the wallet on it. Over all the Utopia is very good, user friendly app and I hope that they will consider my recommendations.

This is my review about Utopia android app.


1) Sign up/import account operations are smooth, minimal details are required for registration which is appreciated.

2) Moment I open Utopia app, I'm greeted from android os with message, "Utopia pasted from clipboard", I see this triggers on it's own without user actively using 'copy-paste' functionality. Why is this automatically triggered? (https://talkimg.com/images/2023/05/14/blobc2ebc8a976d9ccb0.png)

2) App doesn't remember scroll position. To reproduce, scroll to the top of any user/channel's chat, close chat and open chat again.

6) App is huge data hogger, I have it installed for couple days without significant use yet it has consumed 1.43 gb of Internet data. 7) 'channel list updating' thing upon first install. To me, it appears waste of data and of user's time. At the moment, channel list is about 5k, what about time when utopia gets bigger? This needs to be addressed sooner especially if utopia plans to stay for long time.

8 ) Used Utopia's recent chatgpt addition, after sending a message there is brief pause which after answer is displayed, it would be helpful for a user if he is shown loading bar or something which tells him that answer is being typed and will be displayed soon. I understand this is not biggie.

9) You can't '@' to users, can't delete your own messages.

10) When clicking a quoted content in message, app should bring user to that particular quoted message upon click. Handy features that are already in other popular messaging apps, utopia should automatically adopt them without second thoughts as long as they don't breach utopia's core value which appears to be privacy.

11) Google play reviews are misleading, Parading about features that don't exist in Utopia mobile such as file transfer, browsing, voice chat, video call.


Utopia android appears to be bare-bone app. Insteading of having and maintaining apps for several platforms, it might as well be a better idea to just have fully functioning single web app.

Moreover, the original chat GPT generates the response and you see progress, in the Utopia due to the nature of the technology, you have to wait until ChatGTP fully generates the response.

I am not sure how technically feasible this is, but I have seen similar possibilities, a kind of group purchase of this service. Very useful for those who only need occasional use and do not need a monthly plan.
