He gave us a fantastic last ride at 39….

His marveled at the kind of play he was made to experience in what has being an amazing career for him. I don’t think he has ever had to endure this kind of play but, he’s an amazing player still, just not tonight.

The one thing Messi have shown tonight during the final match and th losing of the world cup is that messi composure we extremely relaxing and balance even in the face of tactical threats he never react angrily like others, may be that is because the Spain players are mostly his Barcelona team mates who he is already used to, but sincerely Messi did well tonight just that the chances for him to make a difference wasn't available.

Spain isn’t a very aggressive team, unlike Argentina and normally what you find with the Argentina team is, any little push on Messi, the entire team would react on his behalf and he doesn’t need to do nothing. That’s Leo, there isn’t much in that.
However, Spain didn’t give them anything to react even, they played a peak football tonight and Argentina didn’t have a say in it.

A big congratulations to Spain, those guys really played a brilliant game and actually earned this year's FIFA World Cup title. Because from the statistics above, it clearly shows that Argentina didn't even play a single thing today, despite the fact that FIFA was trying to rig the game to their favour by cancelling the first 2 goals which Spain scored, but unfortunately, those guys never relent but kept pushing forward and finally won the game without going on a penalty kick. However, I'm happy we have got a new G.O.A.T in football which is Lamine Yamal, at least now Ronaldo and Messi fans will stop making noise online.

I wish we'd seen a better final match. Argentina played very timidly, they couldn't create anything on offense. Spain also squandered the chances they had. The shots on goal went straight at the goalkeeper. Martinez had a good game. But once you concede a goal, it's all over if you can't score.

Argentina held on until extra time but ran out of steam in the final 15 minutes. Playing with 10 men was hard enough as it was. Spain have won another title. This generation will win more titles in the future I believe. They have very talented players.

Match was really boring like we were expecting that both side will try a tussling a football like match would too competitive but unfortunately it was totally marked lien only one side was dominating the match. Argentina was really bad because I was monitoring their buildup and to be honest it didn't even make any sense like they were absolutely poor like they didn't made any single open attempt on goal. It's really embarrassing moment for them.....

Below you all can clearly see it that Argentina didn't even attempt any single shot on goal in regular 90 minutes. It's really bad. To be honest I never see such poor match of Argentina. Messi was bit sloppy because their teammate didn't provide him ball possion.

The Argentine team did not perform well, they were full of failures and there was no safety pass among the players that could go to the goal post. However, the goalkeeper of the Argentine team showed a very good performance, because of his good performance, the Argentine team was able to play until the end, otherwise the game would have ended in the main time.
The Spanish team was lucky and was able to dominate, the Spanish team was always on the attack throughout the match and put the Argentine team under great pressure. The Argentine team's failure was due to their own fault.

Today's match completely disappointed me after watching Argentina play. I could not even imagine Argentina would play like this. The way Spain played deserves all the praise. It can be said that Argentina hardly got the ball, even when they got it, they could not keep it with themselves compared to Spain and lost it within moments. Spain took so many shots and shots on target, but they could not be as successful as that because Argentina's goalkeeper tried his maximum.

I wouldn't call it a good match it wasn't worthy of a final. Both teams played cautiously, so it didn't make for an entertaining game.
I had hoped for more from a final match. I actually felt sleepy while watching and spent more time on my phone because there was nothing engaging happening on the match.
Spain simply had better control of the game, which is why they won in extra time.

I might be late but I didn’t missed the match  , I couldn’t concentrate that much though but from the little time  spent watching, all I can say is that Agentina messed up pretty bad in this game . They were booked several times  just because they were trying to defend their way all through to the Penalty Shootout .

Their keeper [_Martinez ] prevented them from being shamed entirely, he prevented atleast 5-0 as outcome for this match.

It’s over  now, we have a victor .. what next?

Let me join in celebrating Spain as the official winners of the 2026 World Cup competition,  it was a well deserving one, they had it tough but they were able  to pull through to win the prestigious title,  quite a number of persons did expected it was going  to be Argentina because they have got one star player the world has given some really good attention.

It was really interesting watching them have this and their performance that earned them this trophy.  CONGRATULATIONS  to SPAIN.

Your definitely right, Messi is just fine, even if he won the world cup it would just be an additional trophy, we all know that winning the World cup is a very difficult thing to do and Messi has managed to win one,
Lamin Yamal winning the world cup is still a good one and it is very well deserved, I also know that Messi will be proud of the young champion.

Well, Messi already has one World Cup, so I wonder why he was so emotional about losing the final. He should be proud of the kind of impact he made before getting to the final, he really did great and that is more than enough. Not everyone gets to lift that trophy and he already did it in 2022. This time, he carried Argentina on his back all tournament, scoring, assisting and leading by example. Losing hurts, but he left everything on the pitch. That is all you can ask from a legend.

Argentina lost this game because of the wrong decision of Argentina, because Argentina was desperate to score and after Fernandez got a red card, Argentina started defending. This was their biggest mistake because if they had been attacking, the game would have ended in a penalty, if the game had gone to a penalty, Argentina had a good chance of winning. But Fernandez ruined all their plans, if he hadn't gotten excited and made a foul, the game would have been a much tougher contest in the end.
But anyway, congratulations to the Spain team, they are a very hardworking team and all the players are young. In the end, they kept attacking and were able to win the World Cup.

Congratulations to Spain, they really deserved this victory. Messi really tried but I think it was God’s will for Spain to win. I really enjoyed the match. I was expecting a more serious game from both countries but I feel Argentina wasn’t prepared enough or they were looking down on Spain.

Yes, I agree Spain deserved to win. Argentina is not underestimating Spain, it is more about strategy, usually we see Argentina can control the match but this time Spain is a different opponent they can control all the pressure and take over. On the other hand, Messi also failed to win the golden boot even though he was ready for all conditions, maybe this is his last chance with Argentina but yeah he has given his best it's just that luck wasn't on his side. I was busy bashing France for having a poor performance against Spain in the Semi finals not knowing that a terrible game is on the way coming for the team that was going to meet them in the finals. How on earth did Argentina, a defending champion before during the game had such a terrible game. Spain was playing like the international team that they are and Argentina was playing like my village team that hasn't played before on a standard pitch. The whole of Argentina team apart from Martinez played rubbish for an entire 120 minutes, what a shame.

We now know why France played so badly in the Semi-finals, it's not that they didn't try but they struggled against Spain's scheme which was very good during the game and indeed short passes and possession are always natural counters for a team with a scheme that relies on speed. France and Argentina fell victim to the scheme Sapnyol and shout out to Luis de la Fuente who was behind the scenes.

Spain deserve the title if you look at their performance in the last 2 matches because with what they showed it should be enough to silence people who don't like their squad too much. It was a long wait for Spain and they finally won the title again after their golden era a decade ago.

Im no expert but Spain were in control during that game creating chances, it was only a matter of time before they took over the match and won.  I'm not surprised by the result, they deserved the win they got.   Sorry Messi didnt get his win but he was there at the final at such a grand age that's massive and the best team has to win or the game would not be what it is.

For the whole full-time Messi couldn't get a shot and he was too quiet that people began to see him as someone who should leave the game for more energetic player, the only time Messi was reacting to Spain was on the extra time second half after full-time and all Argentina squad was in labour to Spain because they gave them half field from beginning to 90 minutes. Actually Argentina shouldn't have played Enzo Fernandez because he was a weakness on this game for Argentina, he was on yellow card and still he was using his kneels for more trouble, Spain was the master of the game but the defending part, Argentina was trying but when it become a red card for them it gave Spain more edge on them.

Argentina came quite close to avoiding this disappointment but, their hopes of defending the title was just so persistent, they hanged on up to the finals and even the extra time. Now, looking at this statistics, you’ll have to agree with me that they shouldn’t have being in this finals. Cape Verde and even France faired better against this team if young stars in Spain. The game was way too one sided for a finals but, the tension was there though. One would think that in split second Argentina could take the game but Spain wasn’t about that.

Lamine Yamal has now joined the squad of World Cup winners. What a great early achievement for the young lad. I guess Mbappe had his time, now it is his time to shine on the global stage. Although he really did not show up as expected, he did his bit and that was good enough. Winning a World Cup at such a young age is something most players can only dream of. This experience will do wonders for his confidence and growth. The future looks bright for him, and if he keeps developing, we might be talking about him as the next big thing in world football for years to come.

Congratulations Spain, they absolutely deserved this victory. Spain is far superior to every other team and they proved it by winning the World Cup. Argentina's statistics were incredibly poor; they were completely inactive in the match. The Spanish players covered every area. It was clear from the start that the result would be against Spain. Argentina only resisted to avoid conceding a goal, and they could only do that for so long.

Regular time was really boring though compared to the 2022 World Cup final. Tension was really high from time to time. Spain answered Argentina well about that. The red card was also clearly correct.

I think everyone didn’t expect Spain to be the Champion of the World, people fail to understand that they are Champions of Europe, and they were large underestimated, nobody was expecting Spain to win the World Cup, almost everyone thought France or Argentina was the favorite, people wasn’t mentioning Spain, they weren’t in the Conversation.

Now they will have to defend their Title on home soil when the World Cup would be cohosted by Morocco and Portugal.

You don't need to be surprised that Argentina didn't perform well against Spain, what were you expecting Argentina to do when they lost the control of midfield? Spain took over everywhere they made it very difficult for Messi to do his magic and they made Argentina to defend all through the game because they were the underdog. A better finals was the game between France and England in the third place tonight Argentina just wasted the time of Spain by keeping them late before giving them their well deserved trophy. Congratulations to Spain.

Even terrible Portugal performed better against Spain than what I witnessed in this final, this gat to be the worst final I have ever watched in my history of watching finals. 90 minutes played and a footballing nation like Argentina couldn't register a single shot in 90 minutes, no single touch of the ball I'm Spain's box in an entire 90 minutes. There's a difference between shot on target and shot off target, Argentina in an entire duration of normal time couldn't register even an off target or blocked shot. That's terrible for a team. Spain was just everywhere. But I'm as much as that, small teams, no matter how it is, the would at least register an on target shot. Throughout this world cup, all the teams that played against Spain made attempts prior to this finals.

The same way Argentina defeated England in the semi-finals, Spain defeated Argentina. Argentina's goalkeeper saved several goals brilliantly. Argentina played well in almost every match of the entire World Cup but lost only to Spain's tactics in the final. I was pretty sure that Argentina would win the trophy because every player in the team was performing great, especially Messi who scored 8 goals and if he could have scored more goals today, he would have been the top scorer.

Many people might not have expected Argentina to perform so badly. No team could score in the regular time. The only valuable goal in the added minutes after extra time was scored by Ferran Torres. Congratulations to Spain because they won the World Cup trophy after a long 15 years.
