But officially FIFA has recorded Olise in first place with 7 assists and Pele in second place with 6 assists. Regardless of whether some say it's Olise record or Pele record, I think it depends on the individual's point of view, but statistically, Pele record was officially broken at the 2026 World Cup with a score of 7 to 6. Because this is third place, and up until this moment teams played carefully and when they are ahead, they defended heavily (like how England tried and failed against Argentina) and that meant that the teams were too careful at times.

I personally support this your views completely because I was also more concerned about Mbappe's goals tally, I was actually wanted it to be more than the result he has before. In yesterday's match against England, I was wondering how would the Mbappe add more goals counts, most exoecially when the England dominated the match at the early stage of the keep off throughout the first half.  Honestly I was impressed as he stepped up to scored 2 goals added to the previous ones. Now goals were counted to 10 goals total now. And it was actually a true reliefs for us that wants him or hopping for him to finish this season FIFA world cup tournament with a golden boot, at least thier efforts should be recognized also. If Messi do score Hartrick in today's final which will be difficult for him, so I am confident on Mbappe to achieve it  and ending the tournament with as top goalscorer.
