IFAB approves the decision to strengthen VAR. VAR will have power to check the second yellow card and corner kick. These rules will be implemented in the WC 2026.

IMO, i like these rules update. I've seen enough so many wrong given yellow card, and VAR will make it become reversible. Beside that using VAR to check the corner kick is also good considering so many clubs in football are abusing it for the time wasting purpose.

So these VAR update will give more clarity when there was wrong yellow card given by the referee. It's also limiting the team to disturbing the goalie like what we see in so many games.

Are you pros or cons with these new rules?

Time wasting is not going to change due to those changes. First of all it is good to have a double check on corner kicks because it's a big disadvantage when the referee makes a wrong decision in extra time for example. Those corner kicks can change the game for better or worse and they should be correctly given if a team is entitled to it.

What I would have liked is this insane time wasting done by the leading team with throw ins and free kicks. It is sometimes so bad that you can't watch the game anymore. They should instead stop the time in the last ten minutes and add extra time for what was wasted before. Everyone knows the trick that one team leads and they get a throw in and then all players move away from the throw in spot and the referee can't punish anyone.

Now there will be claims that the referee adds those seconds or minutes, but if you know a team well that plays with these tricks, it is a fact that they still win time and I like that much more in other sports like basketball or ice hockey.

The added changes are good and important for the WC, but it is not like they improve anything about time wasting.

It seems logical to me to check such important points as yellow cards and corners, but I don’t understand at all what this has to do with the fight against time wasting (as written in the picture)?

Once the ball goes out for a corner, the game is stopped. However, we have seen it so many times players are confusing themselves when choosing who is gonna kick the corner kick. So it sometimes consumes more time like a minute or even more just to do the corner kick.

I know it seems a very short of time, but it can still disrupt the rhythm of the game. So i guess that's may be the reason why the new rules is also to fixing the time wasting that often happened during the corner kick.

However, it's also often happening during the throw in when players are taking so long just to take and throw the ball. This is why i think there are still many gray areas in the dead ball, which sometimes being explored for time wasting purpose.

Iran has pulled out of the world cup. Probably one of the teams that lost out during the AFC qualifiers would be replacing them. I am not sure whether the selection will be based on FIFA ranking, or based on the position in the Qualifier tournament. Iraq won the AFC 5th round qualifiers, and they are supposed to enter the Inter-confederation play-offs. In case FIFA wants to replace Iran with Iraq, then it will be the United Arab Emirates who qualify for the play-offs (with Iraq getting direct entry).

It's not a given that they have withdrawn from the World Cup yet, i certainly don't think it's the best thing they could do, they should use all this as a manifesto to amplify the work of liberation of their land instead by doing so they oppress the queen, but perhaps it's what they want first.

Iran's matches are scheduled to take place in the United States. At the moment there is virtually zero chance that they will be able to travel to that country, due to the ongoing war. Most probably, they will be replaced by Iraq. And as I mentioned, United Arab Emirates is likely to play the Inter-confederation play-offs. This is a golden chance for the UAE as well. But they need to defeat winners from the Bolivia vs Suriname match, in order to secure their ticket to the US. And Bolivia, being a CONMEBOL team is having a higher FIFA ranking when compared to the UAE.

There is a serious risk that Mexico will not be able to co - host the tournament due to the wave of violence in recent weeks and days. It seems FIFA has already embarrassed itself by expressing the position that "the US and Israel will not be excluded from the competition because sport must remain a beacon of hope" - what kind of nonsense is this, hahaha? Obvious double standards, vileness, and a cover-up of crimes. For context: I'm from russia, and I'm in favor of all three criminal countries being excluded from the competition.
By the way, there are other options—for example, the US is currently pressuring Spain and the situation is escalating. What if Spain decides to boycott the tournament? In my opinion, that would be a strong move.

Russia was banned after they invaded Ukraine. Similarly, Israel and USA should also be banned for invading third world countries around the world. But we all know that is not going to happen, because FIFA is being run by a bunch of jokers who don't have any balls. Either ban all of them, or allow everyone to participate. I am for a strict separation between sports and politics, and would go for the latter option. I believe that allowing countries such as Russia and Belarus to participate in multinational sporting events can promote peace and resolve ongoing conflicts.

The United States isn't creating more enemies than friends. If Iran had atomic bombs, they wouldn't hesitate to destroy other countries. They are an extremely dangerous country. I'm not saying the US and Israel are angels, but between the US and Israel versus Iran, I definitely choose the US. That's why FIFA won't sanction the US because, deep down, they know who's right in this story.

And the US isn't trying to occupy Iran, they aren't kidnapping children, they aren't bombing civilian homes; they have military and political targets. Of course, mistakes happen and civilian lives are being lost, something very sad and even condemnable.

As for Russia, it's unacceptable. Russia invaded Ukraine without justifiable reason. They want to expand because Putin isn't mentally well; he wants to have a large country like it was 70 years ago. Something that, in this day and age, is impossible. Russia could have gone down the path of peace, could have been in the World Cup perhaps, but with Putin that's impossible.

With what is happening right now between Iran and the United States i’m very sure that people will not be comfortable going to the World Cup again because people will be scared for their life. We know how all these things usually are and these leaders really don’t care about the life of the citizen and anything can happen for me going to the World Cup is risky and even if I have the money for the tickets because of this thing that is happening, I will not go, let’s see if everything will be resolved before the World Cup will start, I believe if it is not resolved a lot of people who had interest to go to the World Cup will not go anymore because they will be scared of their life. Hypocrisy at its best with things like these FIFA, which is one of the most corrupt sports organizations, giving statements like this creates a more chaotic situation in sports with things that are going to have drastic changes. USA and Israel are doing completely terrorist things, but too many are behind them because they are feeling killing innocent schoolgirls is right. Even right now it's all still going to go ahead as planned because in case of any big-level problem, things are going to be worse for FIFA, but after this event they need to bring in some solid and strict policy without being biased.

You're absolutely right, these types of events shouldn't include sport, which is independent and should be apolitical, but this has no bearing on the Americans who always do what they want and even in international competitions, nobody lifts a finger because they are arrogant and presumptuous and overbearing.

There are different rules for different people. If Russia was banned from FIFA for invading Ukraine, then the same should be the case with Israel (for invading Gaza/Lebanon) and the United States (Iran/Venezuela). Ideally I would like a solid separation between sports and politics and would like to see everyone participating in the World Cup. But if that is not possible, then apply the same yardstick for everyone. Now talking about Gianni Infantino, he happens to be yet another incompetent person at the top of FIFA. Well, you should know that USA has a lot of influence with FIFA than Russia. I mean for sometime now we have been seeing Infatino at the White House, especially during meetings. I saw him in board of peace. Even Israel that has been committing lots of genocide are still playing football. True that USA has made lots of enemies, even the CO host countries aren't safe, like Mexico where there's lots of violence there. I don't know how they are going to work their security during the world cup. But It also looks like Iran won't be participating in this world cup anymore because the game will be played in American soil to security concerns won't allow Iran fans to entertain thee country. Since this world cup was said to be hosted by USA and Co, I knew there will be lots of problems and it's just 100days away.
