It's incredible what Messi has already achieved in this World Cup, tying with Klose as the all-time top scorer. If everything goes as expected, he will easily surpass that mark by a lot. Just add another 2 or 3 goals in this tournament, and he will set a record that’s practically unreachable for today's players... Now all that’s missing is his 1,000th goal to truly become the greatest football player of all time.

Messi is an incredible player and as many of his teammates would say these numbers or record don’t bother him at all and he just loves playing, Messi would probably surpass that record in this World Cup which would probably be his last one.

But as for someone breaking this record, it’s practically reachable and Mbappe is that guy that would probably do it. Mbappe is just a great player for the World Cup and its history, he already has 14 goals in the World Cup just two behind the record right now and he’s still young. He would probably score more goals in this tournament and I’m sure he would one day be the World Cup top scorer with atleast one or two more tournament for him to play in.

The match up between Czech and South Africa was the most predictable draw I've seen this World Cup and I don't even think that Mexico South Korea match will end in a draw as Mexico is very tenacious they will in all likelihood get the win.

But facts, looking at the the Group A table, I always felt like the most likely teams to progress would be Mexico and South Korea and it seems like its going to go down that way

Senegal have a good team a tight-knit side that's tough to play against. France saw that clearly throughout the match, but the French are much stronger and have proved it; I reckon they'll reach the final in this World Cup.
As for Senegal, they have a good chance of getting through the group stage.

Thinking about chances, it's very unlikely that Brazil repeats the same weak performance two games in a row. It's much more likely, indeed, that Brazil wins the next match against Haiti, even though I'm sure Haiti will do its best to not allow that to happen. They played with a lot of effort against Scotland, but still lost, and now, we have to consider they will be playing against an even stronger team (at least in individual level), which is Brazil.

I'm quite sure Brazil won't win this worldcup, but I'm also quite sure they will pass to the next stage of the competition.

After the first match of the World Cup, now it's clear Ronaldo's presence is going to be not positive for Portugal. They needed to have done better strategy with bringing him on the pitch in the second half; it could be better because this will allow their team to give better performance without his influence; otherwise, they can suffer badly.

Playing against a team like Congo and having no goals is surely a big setback. This is going to have an impact on their morale as well. Ronaldo is now having no guts as he did in the past, so he also needs to understand that in the interest of his country, a change in strategy will give better results to Portugal. Now they have two challenging games, and they need to win them as well.

It's unfair to blame CR7 for Portugal failure to secure all three points against Congo. In my opinion, the real blame falls on coach Martinez who led to Portugal dismal performance in this match. He boasts a formidable squad yet he chose to play with a cautious approach wasting his own potential. This was evident when he made substitutions even though the team was already at a stalemate due to CR7 tight marking. He should have brought on Felix to bolster the attack.

In conclusion Martinez strategy in this match was very poor with a slow tempo, predictable build up play and excessive ball circulation without posing any significant threat to the opposition. Martinez made Portugal look like a team afraid to take risks despite their overwhelming dominance. This result is very disappointing and very worrying if Portugal style of play isn't immediately addressed. With such a strong squad they should have delivered a convincing performance especially in their first match. So it is very unfair that Portugal failure was solely due to CR7, even though the one who had the decision to determine the direction of the game was the coach.

I agree that the most favorable outcome for Mexico and South Korea in their head-to-head match is a draw. it's possible the teams will even try to save their energy in this match. thus, they will earn four points each while South Africa and Czech Republic each will have only one. as for the match between South Africa and Czech Republic itself, both teams looked weak. moreover, Czech Republic was very bad physically towards the end of the match and only poor execution prevented South Africa from winning this match.

We have nothing to do here. So I support the 10 African teams now. However, after watching Senegal's first half, when it ended in a 0-0 draw, it seemed that they would at least not lose points. Although the opponent was the runner-up 2022 final and a very strong team. In the second half, Senegal conceded a goal due to some mistakes and later France took control of the match with their attacking play and secured the victory. However, Mbappe's double goal was really great.

Even in there domestic competition, they are not winning it as well. Personally, I don't see Brazil as a team that will be winning the world cup anytime soon, even when they hosted the tournament back then I didn't see them as potential winners, since then they haven't even been on my top 5 list of nations that will win it.

Switzerland is struggling to win again. In their first game, they drew 1-1 with Qatar despite being the favourite, and today they can't find a way to the net against Bosnia and after 70 minutes, we still have a goalless draw.

Mexico Vs Korea can be a close game, unless both teams decide to take it easy on each other and settle for a draw. That's possible, but I don't think it's very likely with those two teams. I think both of them will play for a win and hopefully we will see a decent number of goals, because so far, the tournament has been a bit disappointing in this regard.

This is a reality they’ve been demonstrating all along. Brazil no longer seems to play as a team at the World Cup or the Copa América. On average, Brazilian players are desperate to have their names included in the squad that will compete in the World Cup. Once they’ve been selected and take the field, what they show is how great they can perform individually, because they’re aware that many eyes are watching them and hoping to get a chance to play abroad to strengthen a team in a foreign league.

This sounds painful, but I can’t deny that it’s true.
That’s why I’ve come to the conclusion that Brazil is no longer a team that can be considered a favorite in the World Cup.

Czechia are really one of the teams whose performance I'm surprised of. Today they couldn't defeat South Africa as well and it resulted in a draw for them. They can lose to Mexico too with this effort just like they did against South Korea.



By the way yesterday I thought it would be a really easy win for England. But I must admit that I was wrong. Croatia fought back really nicely. But England were still quite productive. I wonder how successful Tuchel's England will be in this World Cup.

In as much as individual brilliance is important in games, we should never underestimate the importance of teamwork, because that's what matters most. If we're to mention teams with quality players, Brazil falls within top 5 imo, but they clearly don't have that teamwork mentality compared to Argentina with less all round quality. Argentina, especially when messi is on the pitch, plays every game like it's their last. I keep saying this, they where never the favourite on my list to win the 2022 WC, but they did it. This current Brazil on the other hand, are not even acting like the Brazil I grew up knowing. While growing up, when the World cup is mentioned, the yellow and Blue jersey is always the first thing that pops up in my head.

Switzerland finally broke the deadlock and scored in the 74th minute, goal scored by Manzambi. Switzerland disappointed many people in their first match against Qatar because they settled for a draw in a match where they were supposed to win easily. I hope they should be able to hold the one goal they scored till full-time and they should avoid what happened to them in their last match because Bosnia and Herzegovina is even more dangerous than Qatar. Switzerland spoiled many bets in their last match so they should better not allow a repeat. If Switzerland can manage and win at full-time result, they will be at the top of their group table.

I think France was just in advantage of their players, just imagine Olise and Kylian Mbappe what they did in the second half, if not the fact that it France, had it been it's any random European teams, trust me Senegal could have won that game, because they really tried and I I regard them despite the lost, trust me Senegal will be among the few African teams that will make it through the group stage, we can't just use one game lost to write them off, they still have enough chances to prove themselves and I'm sure they will.
