The Egyptian side lost their golden chance to have clinched the quater finals,  I was surprised how they allowed such comeback even when they have passed 76th minutes already,  they had just about 14 minutes and some seconds to keep the scoreline and get a flawless victory to make it to the quater finals but sadly they got their fate decided in he remaining 14 minutes. They did their best, but it was not enough at some point,  and they actually made the mistake of becoming relaxed at a time.

I just don't know what's wrong with African team in this world cup tournament alot of African team should have advance further but got missing it at the ending part of the match,

I don’t know what happened to Egypt today, how will they even allow Argentina to equalize in the match, they were already winning, all what they were suppose to do in the match was just to defend the two goals which they had already, but they messed up. Argentina scored 3 goals towards the ending of the second half, how did Egypt even allow that happen? honestly it’s so annoying. I just hope African countries are going to perform better in the next World Cup, they had opportunities in this current World Cup, and they didn’t utilize it.

Egypt made a big mistake for not defending their goals they were playing against the defending champions they ought to have learnt from the mistake of other African countries by defending when they were goals up but they allowed Argentina to score the first goal and it made them to attack them more making them to be under pressure before they scored the second goal before the extra time when they scored the winning goal. Egypt never believed that they were going to lose the game but they have lost following their inability to handle the pressure when they were winning by 2 goals.

I think defending their goal has been one of the issues affecting the African teams in this tournament, it is looking like it repeated action, this was literally the same thing that happened to Ivory Coast. With a 2-0 lead at 70 minutes plus, their was no excuse Egypt had not to maintain that lead till die minutes. One of the mistakes Egypt made was to score and defending, it has been a golden rule in football that, the best form of defence is to attack, you don't start defending after scoring, at a point they were supposed to still force the attack on Argentina, that way they will create more balance on the game.

It was a really crazy comeback! It reminded me of Belgium's vs Senegal but an improved version of it. 



Messi is once again the top scorer by himself only. He has broken Maradona's assist record at the same time. He is 39 but still cooking great things for spectators...

If they were eliminated then things were going to be way easier for England by the way. But the big threat still remains for them after this result - first they'd better beat Norway though  .

If he hadn't missed two penalties, Messi's goal tally would have been 10. The way he is performing  at the age of  39 is truly commendable. I thought I would see such a performance from ronaldo. Because he played quite well in the Saudi league last season. But Ronaldo has disappointed the fans. On the other hand, Messi is still  moving forward. It seems  that no one can stop him. Incredible end to the Argentina vs Egypt game, how does Messi keep doing it?

I actually wanted Egypt to win, especially when they had a 2nd goal ruled out by VAR for literally nothing. Messi was there when Argentina needed him most, sign of a really top team and maybe potential champion, to come back when everything is against them.

Am a Messi fan and inasmuch as his last minute performance was not short of superb, the fact still remain that Argentina performance was disastrous and it was irritating to watch. How can a mature team like Argentina still depend entirely on Messi for there creativity. If they continue with this there performance am not sure they will even make it to the semi finals.

Egypt really deserved this win and I still don't understand why that Salah's foul was not called which led to Argentina's third goal.

The officiating was bad honestly Egypt goal was disallowed because they never wanted Egypt to qualify M. Salah was also brought down but the ref acted like nothing happened and Argentina use it to score there winning goal. Egypt perform very well but they couldn't hold it till full time i just wish they eliminated Argentina they really deserve to win because they played well despite they were more on there defence line but their attack was sharp, I never like how this ref officiate when an African team is playing.

Yes, the referee favored Argentina here. Egypt's goal was not counted because of a foul, while Argentina's goal was accepted and VAR was not checked. FIFA is giving Argentina extra facilities. The game would have been a draw if Argentina's goal had not been counted. Maybe Argentina could have won the match by scoring in the next extra time like they did in the Cabo Verde match. I support Argentina but I am not in favor of the affair result. If Argentina's goal was fair, then Egypt's goal was fair too. And if Egypt's goal was unfair, then Argentina's goal was unfair too.

See how the tempo of the game is fast from the beginning until now it seems like Portugal and Spain do not want to slow down their tempo before they can get a goal and this will be very draining and focused because the slightest mistake when the game with this fast tempo will end with the worst possible.

Spain had more momentum but Portugal's attack was not so bad but actually in this match I only focused on Lamine and Nuno Mendes who always clashed in the first half but because of the fast tempo it seemed that Nuno had problems with his feet and my pleasure was a little lost.
60 minutes into the game but they still haven't dropped the tempo of the game and this is what I always expect for a big match.

According to my friends at work, since everyone places bets, they said they lost when Nuno got injured. That wing was lost, and he was the one preventing Lamine from playing. But the goal had nothing to do with that. The goal was fortuitous, quick, and due to Portugal's carelessness. But I give Spain credit because they tried harder and got a better result. It's a shame for Ronaldo; this generation he played for wasn't, in my opinion, the most suitable.

Nuno Mendes ' role on the pitch was very influential and we could see after he was pulled off the pitch although there were several options including Dalot but it was not enough to help because in the end Portugal had lost the direction of their defensive progress due to the absence of being able to keep up with the intensity of Lamine Yamal in attack.

This makes Portugal's momentum that actually exists when on the counter-attack is lost even though other players such as Ruben Dias and Vitinha try to do more exploration in the defensive area but Spain's dominance remains extraordinary.

Cristiano is gone and I was surprised to see Egypt come so close to getting Messi out of the World Cup so quickly but their incredible comeback did and it's a well-deserved thing for the defending champions.

the development of this match was somewhat similar to the match between Belgium and Senegal. back then, Senegal was leading 2-0 until the 86th minute and quickly conceded two goals. the only difference was that Egypt conceded a third goal in stoppage time while Senegal conceded during the 30 minutes of added time. the similarity was that both teams panicked too much after conceding a goal and ended up conceding more.

The effort the put in the game from the first minute till 75th minute is what I was happy about, but after then, their performance was never impressive because they just have few minutes t defend since they have two goals advantage, but they conceded three goals within 20 minutes including the extra time. I wanted Egypt to advance to the quarterfinals to join Morocco to be the second African team, but they couldn’t withstand the pressure and they lost the game.

Nevertheless, congratulations to Argentina, they also deserve to be there because they fight till the end of the match; I am impressed with their teamwork and dedication in today’s game, it shows that they are really playing as a team.

I think I feel your pain right  now having to get to some extent like take a look at it that kind of high collapse from 2-0 up and then later I was watching and then it slipped away from that 15 minutes every changed. Now they might keep asking themselves is how did the Egyptian get to such a loss i feel they didn't give the game some game management and I think one main reason was that their mentality too, but the truth is a team like Argentina you really need so much defensive game because of the GOAT in their middle😂the truth is Egypt wasn't thinking of the defense systems but if you check a little bit if really hard to keep that position of defense in a game…

Not the best performance by the USA. Just like that, we're not going to see any team from North America in the quarter-finals.
Something just wasn't clicking right for Americans. The start wasn't all that bad, they conceded an early one but were able to respond eventually, but Belgium added another one only 2 minutes later, that must've broken the co-host's spirit.
And the final nail to the coffin was that horrible intervention by USA's goalkeeper, Matt Freese, when he essentially handed Belgium their 3rd goal on a silver platter. I feel sorry for him, he played decently otherwise, but he will be blamed for his team getting eliminated.

I wonder how Belgium will look against Spain. It could be a fairly even game.

My friends, this World Cup is proving to be very promising, full of historic comebacks. The match between Argentina and Egypt has just finished, I was studying during the match, but I saw the goals. It must have been a very exciting match. For those who thought they would lose 2-0 like bostil (brazil), they were wrong. Messi missed a penalty, but even so, Argentina advanced to the quarterfinals. There are still many games and excitement ahead.

It's already confirmed that this is the last World Cup played by CR7 and perhaps Neymar, the end of a generation, the golden age of modern football. It's very likely that we'll have France vs Argentina again in the final, everything indicates that both teams are very strong.

If Argentina reaches the final, I'll be rooting for them to lift the trophy, because of Messi of whom I'm a big fan since 2010. I'm happy to be following this generation of Messi, CR7 and Neymar, practically at the end of their careers, with Messi still far ahead at his peak.

Here we go guys the 39 years young man made another brilliant record. He has now the most assist record at world cup history like now he has now 9 assist after surpassing Maradona in world cup history. He is just simply a F**king GOAT.

Fact is that he is not in competition but he is trying to put his team/country out there again and that has earned him the competitive look even though he is not, however whether he makes it to the last stage of the tournament I don’t even support his team winning but for the love of him I will still wish them well but I prefer a young star like Kane to take the tournament this time. It’s really amazing to see how much turn out the second half of the game came to an end with a fast recovery and win. It’s a good one.

It is ridiculous to watch the way some matches are managed by referees in this World Cup. Today in the Argentina-Egypt match the same thing happened.

There were some incidents which should have ended up with fouls instead of ending in favour of Argentina. Just as I think the same for Salah's incident before Argentina's last goal.

I appreciate Egypt's fighting really hard despite being much weaker in squad quality compared to their opponent.
