The Egyptian side lost their golden chance to have clinched the quater finals,  I was surprised how they allowed such comeback even when they have passed 76th minutes already,  they had just about 14 minutes and some seconds to keep the scoreline and get a flawless victory to make it to the quater finals but sadly they got their fate decided in he remaining 14 minutes. They did their best, but it was not enough at some point,  and they actually made the mistake of becoming relaxed at a time.

That's why football is unpredictable anything can happen at anytime. I never expected Egypt to lead by 2 goals, I have already given up and thought that they have eliminated Argentina, because Egypt were also playing a very good game and their defence was solid too. But immediately Argentina scored the first goal, I felt confidence and expected a comeback from Argentina because they keep Egypt under pressure. Ronaldo fans would be disappointed because the result wasn't what they expected.

I watched the game, I think Egypt had a very good chance of winning and inasmuch as I wanted Egypt to win, I think Argentina really fought hard to get those three late goals. I'll have to rewatch the game later to know if Egypt really deserved to be awarded any of the fouls they claimed were waved away by the match officials.

Indeed Messi is doing something epic in the world cup, not just this world cup alone but in the history of the competition,  he has created a record that even the younger generation is now having to pursue,  if he stays long enough in this competition,  he is definitely beating this record before the competition ends.

So far Messi has scored 8 goals and 1 assist in 5 matches of the 2026 World Cup.  He was the differentiator for his team, even still being the hero for every Argentine victory so far. Messi is no longer young, but his goal instinct is still very sharp and his finishing is still quite good. But there is a bad record for him at the 2026 World Cup, Messi has failed in 2 penalty executions. If Messi still scores in the next game,then I think only Mbappe is still likely to chase the record.

Argentina are looking forward to their next opponent in the quarter-finals between Switzerland or Colombia. These two teams are still yet to score as of the time of writing, but Colombia appear to have a better chance of qualifying for the quarter-finals.

I can't believe Argentina came back from losing 2-0 to Egypt until the 79th minute. You could tell that after the 2nd goal, Egypt's players were celebrating as if they had already gotten through to the next stage.
But Argentinians kept pressing, and it finally paid off.
Messi scored another one for 2-2, redeeming himself from a penalty he missed earlier. He's now the lone leader of the tournament's top scorers with 8 goals to his name. Moreover, he has scored in every single game of the tournament so far.
That being said, his penalty statistics are not looking very good. Apparently, he missed 50% of penalties he attempted in the World Cup tournaments (excluding penalty shootouts). Out of the total of 8 penalties, he only converted 4 into goals. I don't think he's at risk of being replaced as the designated penalty taker though.

No need for Egypt to cry over a spilled milk, they were careless to have lost control of 2 goals lead they had and their goalkeeper was also a problem because he was supposed to save Messi's shot by waving the ball away since the shot came to him directly but instead, he used a weak effort to punch the ball yet it was a goal. Egypt players and managers should go and rest because their nothing for them to agitate about.
     I like the resilience of the Argentine team; they never gave up even when their strength almost failed them, but their motivation came when Cristian Romero scored the first goal for Argentina and they became so lively again which made Messi to equal the score and then Enzo Fernández score the winner goal.

That’s the most embarrassing part of African football. A game where Egypt had managed the game so well, despite a disallowed goal due to foul from the opposition side, they were able to score another goal and get 2 goals lead, only for them to allow Argentina come back into the game by scoring 3 goals in less than 10minutes and subsequently winning the match. Thats one hell of a terrible performance from the Egypt. Once they allowed Argentina get a goal, you make them believe it’s possible and with that believe, they went ahead to win.

Nobody could see Egypt leading by 2-0 with the current squad but their determination really pulled off such stunt. This is more like a similar situation with Senegal vs Belgium where the African giants were leading 2-0 and had an equaliser within the space of 4 minutes which led to their elimination from the World cup after extra time.

I think African teams lack the discipline to hold off the defence towards the end of the game, maybe they lack the ability to withstand pressure or they made the wrong changes after a comfortable lead ahead a stronger team. It was really a good performance from Egypt despite elimination and this should be worth celebrating. African countries are really making Africa proud by standing up to bigger countries as this is something that has not happened in a while, its really an outstanding performance from the African sides.

I watched the whole game and I can say that some of the referee's calls favored Argentina. I'm not a hater I'm just saying what I saw.

Also, Romero's goal looked offside but the officials didn't even review it. The same goes for the uncalled foul on Salah inside the penalty area. Right after that, Messi got the call in his favor. Compare that to M. Ziko's disallowed goal. He should have had two goals, but after the VAR review there was ruled a foul.

In my opinion the Mexico vs England match was very exciting and tense We saw both Mexican and English players play to their full potential. Unfortunately, Mexico ultimately lost to England because the English players were better able to capitalize on their chances than the Mexican players. In my opinion, Mexico had many chances, but unfortunately, they failed to capitalize on them, which ultimately allowed England to take the lead, and Mexico ultimately lost to England. England national football team won the match against Mexico national football team as they did more goals in this match which was requirement of that team And Bellingham was a player who did 2 goals in this match. Bellingham was a player who did first goal of the match and he did this goal at 36 minutes and team got good start and  after that players got confidence and they did more goals in this match and Bellingham second goal was at 38 minutes and opponent team players was in pressure but they did 3rd goal of the match which was at 42 minutes. Harry Kane did second last goal of the match and he did this goal at 60 minutes when team was in full form and they won the match at the end because of their continues effort.

I also actually wanted the Egypt should win this match particularly, because when they eliminated Cristiano Ronaldo yesterday, I face alit of banters and mockery from my fellow footballers fans that support Messi. I actually have the intention to blast them back today but the storyline was changed lately.

Well I don't Think so as well because no one will want to do that, but if he is genuinely not good at penalty anymore he will be willing to make the personal decision to give out penalty to the young and ready stars of the country team.

The outcome of the game is what happens when a particular team is not strong enough to defend their goals you see them losing the game even if it's 10 minutes before the end of the game and that's what we saw in the game between Egypt and Argentina. Egypt was to manage the pressure that was coming all round from the Argentina side if they had kept on defending well until the 90 minutes by now they would have made history but everything changed when Argentina scored their first goal, they saw more opportunities in the game,they created chances got the goals and they smiled at the end of the game.

That was a little unexpected result for me. I knew both teams were good and this was going to be some worth of a challenging game but to think that they would play goalless wasn’t something I was hoping to see.
Settling it out in the penalties wasn’t really out of place for a game that both teams were just looking for chances all 90minutes and extra time. Switzerland made the most of it apparently and Colombia is out.

That’s for sure, I agree with you, once a team reaches the quarterfinals then I don’t think it’s fair to call them weak anymore. Every team left now has already passed and fought difficult opponents and proved they deserve to be there. I also believe that at this stage only the strongest teams in the world are left. Some national teams didn’t have enough luck nor strength to be here, but that’s also football and they have time to prove themselves in the next editions. We have seen new talents, surprises and even bad moments, which in total resume all the fun and excitement of this tournament.

Well, now it’s getting more serious and not really about luck anymore, but only about who can stay focused adapt during the match to take their chances when they come. Of course, unpredictability still remains the main thing in the game of football. It was indeed a massive performance from Argentina players, especially Messi. It was almost the end of the road for them, but they were smart enough to disorganize the Egyptians after the first goal. Argentina's penalty misses have become a habit, Lionel Messi himself has been missing penalties repeatedly in the past matches. Egypt created a sensational situation in this match, where they held the game until 78 minutes of the game but then had to concede three goals in a short period of time.
If they could have prevented the attacks defensively at this time, it would have been a record situation where Argentina lost to a weaker team. However, in this situation, Egypt performed well and surprised Argentina fans but due to good luck, Argentina was able to win this match.
