I don't agree if you say they ignore local players in fact local players can compete with other European players we can see it in the current top scorer list at least 2 local players are on the list Feras Albrikan and Salem Al-Dawsari besides that we can also see Al-Taawoun which is dominated by local players out of 29 players 21 of them are local players and they are currently in 2nd place in the standings. I think this is enough to prove that local players can compete and be relied on and their abilities increase if they continue to play with European players.

People usually underrate the abilities of the local players alot probably because the league is investing so much money to sign foreign players but I don’t see them that way, compared to other top league the saudi league is not up the standards yet but that doesn’t mean there are no good players in the league. They are investing in foreign players because they want to raise the standards of the league and gradually they are raising it’s standards. I do watch some matches in the league and i was seen some decent local players, i was surprised at first but then i realized maybe it’s because the league was not given attention that’s why we don’t notice them. I'm not quick to conclude that because I've not seen his performance for the team yet, because not all players are able adapt to a new environment and poor adaption also make them decline in form, anyways the Brazil born player is a very good center defender and could strengthen the defence line of his new team judging from his past performances in lazio and Betis he's had a good experience and would carry it with him into the Al-ittihad making them more stronger this season.
 They're the defending champions of the league and I belive that's why they've sort the presence of a quality experienced player to help strengthen their backline and I believe he'll make a fine player for them and defense the trophy from their very strong competitors and with their current form I still see them a strong contenders despite Al-Hilal being the most likely to win it this season.

The mate may have made that statement without proper considerations or taking into account the current performance of the player in the Brazilians team and his outstanding performance in the last match as you mention,  Neymar was able to secure two goals in the game even though he just recovered from that major injury.

It's not surprising me to see hazm placed at the bottom. This club was also being relegated during 2021 - 2022 season by also placed at the bottom as well. Hazm acquired many local players to remain in the Saudi Pro League, but they are mostly not helpful to the team because they lack quality.. The club keeps repeat the same pattern that happened during 2021 - 2022 season. This club may also be relegated again this season. Well, I have read the news you linked and I think I understand why Jorge Jesus was a little annoyed with Neymar being called up to the Brazilian national team. Because he is worried that Neymar will get injured in the next 2 matches in the World Cup Qualifiers. This could mean that Neymar will not be able to play for Al-Hilal in the near future.
