Last year's champions (Al-Ittihad) are leading the points table this time as well. They have won 6 out of the 7 matches played so far (their only loss came against Al Hilal on 1st September). Based on the star player we can't come to conclusion on winning the title. Every team have got good number of players. What happened in the previous season. Team Al-Nassr tried the best to reach the first position and in a margin it kept moving. Till the last it wasn't able to reach and this is little disappointing. However at any point we can't say Al-Nassr didn't play well, they did the best. On the opposite side Al-Ittihad were playing better than Al-Nassr. At the end both the teams had 5 points difference. This time I expect the difference will be very narrow between the teams on the top position.

Al Nassr had the worst possible start to the season, as they lost first two matches in Saudi Professional League. But after that they were able to recoup and recover. Now they have 15 points from 7 matches, with 5 consecutive wins till now. Today they will be taking on one of the weaker teams in the league (Al Ta'ee). We can expect them to go up to 18 points from 8 matches (at the top, Al Ittihad is having 18 points from 7 matches, and they will be facing Al Feiha today). In the last 5 weeks Al-Nassr has indeed proven that they are one of the clubs that has strong potential to win the title this season. It's just that what makes Al-Nassr have to be in 5th place is because they didn't start well enough.

Al-Ittihad have proven to be one of the strongest side in the Saudi Arabia professional league, they started well which is why they are top of the league but they should not relent and they can’t avoid to drop points if they really want to take the lead just as they did last season. The league is getting tougher and tougher and just like the English premier league i like the fact that they are all just trailing each other with one or two points ahead of one another and Al Ittihad who tops the table is just 3 points ahead of 5th place Al-Nassr. I don’t think Al-Nassr will will stay there gdpr long, i think with their current form they will challenge for the league title. With such squad if not for their poor start they should probably be top of the table by now, they have a solid squad now and the understanding between the players have been very good and it is helping them a lot.
