do i understand correctly?:
premine is exactly 2.5% and that goes 100% to ipo?
the other 97.5% are available for mining?
Is this the distributionmodel or did i miss something?

edit: also you shouldn't be too concerned about the lotto and legality because if any government comes up and wants to ban it for that reason (i doubt they will) you can just integrate something that blocks the lotto for ip's from those states that don't like the lotto and everybody should be happy again.
Yes, the premine is exactly 2.5% of the 1 Billion NMS that will be minted and that goes fully to the IPO.

The other 97.5% is the remaining amount which can be minted. As the proof-of-work minting decreases due to block halving as a result of the increased network hashrate the proof-of-stake minting will become a bigger factor in determining the supply. The supply will continue to increase up until the 1 Billion NMS hard cap.

Are there also bounties for translators?  Grin
Yes, in the near future we shall put up bounties for translators.

Yeah we'd live to see a forum.

I'd rather see an IRC Channel of some sort put up instead.

Really excited about this!

Numus, is it possible to consider changing the algorithm? Edgecoin recently decided to change their algorithm to X11 - that seems to be the one that everyone wants now (more than Scrypt-Jane).
X11 currently does not currently have a wide variety of mining software supporting the algorithm to make it accessible to most. The mining software that are currently available seem to be inefficient and do not support NVIDIA GPU's. Although some may argue that most miners make use of AMD cards rather than NVIDIA, this goes against Numus' philosophy of accessibility. We want everyone regardless of hardware constraints to mine/make use of Numus right from the start.

What about upcoming ASIC's, which have the potential to push Scrypt (possibly Scrypt-Jane) coins difficulty to the stratosphere, making Numus mining non-accessible (yet again) for everyone except the few industrial datorhalls?

I haven't heard of any ASICs coming out for Scrypt-Jane yet, so I don't think the guys over at Numus should be worried, but I could be wrong.

There aren't any yet, but that's not to say it can't be done. I thought I remember reading somewhere that ASICs for Scrypt-Jane are more feasible than for X11. Also, X11 supposedly runs a lot cooler.

I'm not an expert on these algorithms at all - I'd just like to see Numus use whichever algo that will make the greatest number of people adopt Numus. If they feel that is Scrypt-Jane then I trust their decision.

I heard the only reason X11 runs cooler is because the miners released for it are not efficient. It makes sense though because the algorithm can't magically make your graphics card run cooler, the temperature depends on the stress on the graphics card and if the miner isn't pushing your card to its max which would be the case if its inefficient then obviously the miner's card would run cooler.

We already have plans to set up a forum for discussion about Numus. Though we currently are working on translating our whitepaper to Chinese, Dutch, Japanese, Spanish and German before we do so.

Interesting article on the various algos just came out:

http://www.cryptoarticles.com/crypto-news/2014/4/3/what-will-be-the-next-hot-mining-algorithm-for-gpus

They don't see Scrypt-Jane as a long term contender though because of the decreasing profitability.

I'm not sure what causes it's decreasing profitability? The article seems very vague.
