Fair play won't bring you far in BSFL and wishing the best to your opponent. You should wish him bad luck, or even better, for him to forget to submit his answers. 

Joke aside, I just submitted mine as well. I don't feel particularly confident this round, which is no surprise since we have both DOTA and women's tennis in the same round. A win would be nice though, to get as far away from the relegation zone as possible.

This is some useful advice from a Div. 1 star player, so I'll try to start practicing it from the next round if this one goes to my opponent too. It's not a great start for now, but I'm still in a 1:0 lead, and having 4 different picks is enough to scare me. Especially with the Como vs. Roma duel—I simply didn't know what to pick, but I didn't think a draw would happen, so I spun a randomizer. Maybe it's a valid tactic when you're in a dilemma .

In the past, I usually went with a draw whenever I had a hard time deciding (which was quite often) but then I realized that statistically speaking, a draw usually has the lowest chance of happening. So now I only go with it when I have a very strong gut feeling or in certain situations when a draw suits one or both teams. But this Como-Roma thing could easily go any of the 3 ways and I doubt you were the only time that had a hard time deciding what to do.

Good idea! I was thinking about betting on vd309's picks due his track record, but he started this season poorly, so maybe I should try it with Trofo's picks instead. Thinking about that, it might the only way to stop him as if all of us put money on his picks, it surely must be enough to jinx him. Either way, we profit.

Ufff is gonna be a super hard round between me and jayce, we have 5 diferent answers in which 2 of them are in the h2h question and in that 2 we ahve only one minor diference, we start to setled it today with Lamine Yamal scoring or not, and the other one is in the women tennis is which we have almost the same picks but a diferent player in the final.

The other 3 question with diferent answer are gonna be a coin in the air, Lyon or Lens, Como or draw, and draw or Manchester City in all very difficult to guess games.

0/3 from the start for my team, but we are still only one point behind in the round. I initially had Yamal not to score but changed my mind on betting against him with the form he has been in and paid the price to lose the first H2H.

Gauff did not look 100% in those 2 sets. Lucky that dump3er went with them too. Martens has a chance to knock me successive blows if they also knock put Swatiek and get another upset this year. I hope that is not the case and Andreeva drops before the finals.

Aside of our duel i think we are gonna also have to collect points for the LMS since we are now starting to get into the danger zone if we dont start to collect them.

The only "good" thing about it is in the second question most of the people get it wrong since nobody was really expecting to see Scotland losing against Slovenia.

It isn't a problem from technical side. It is a problem only because we don't have situation such as this covered in the rules. Only thing we discussed previously was managing a club for someone, so that works and nobody can complain

We need to make some sort of decision and add it to the rules as precedent for future dealings. Problem is, club sales are coming with 2x fees. It is stupid to ask you or NotATether to pay another 5 mBTC (2x fees for Div1) since you just bought a club but if we just allow it for free it opens up vectors for people in the future to take advantage of our rules. I would also like to give it to a vote for whole BSFL or just Div 1 but last time we did that, there were participants that didn't like the fact we wanted to hear what the community thinks.

In the end I am leaning to allowing it and adding something like "free return" which could work in a way, when new participants joins BSFL and finds out it isn't for him, he can gift his club. As with "free return" there would be a time constrain or in this case - Round constraint. So let's say it works as gift only if it this done before halfway mark of the season. I will talk about it more with cryptofrka and we will decide on something soonish.


In other news, next week we will have first round of BSFL cup. As usual there will be qualification round to get us to 64 teams and perfect knockout draw. This season 3 players are already out of BSFL so that means we have 69 teams in the cup.

That means we will have last 10 teams in Div 4 (not counting those that are out) involved in qualifiers. 5 winners + remaining 59 teams, makes it 64. As before it will be a double round so everyone needs to submit. But for most of us, only last 5 questions + penalty will count. We will explain it in more detail when questions are out. This is just early notification so you know it is coming. As always we will use ranking after Round 5 to determine those 10 teams that will play qualifications.

It is never a problem in an individual case. Problem is that it opens paths for potential misuse later on.
Would I personally allow this change? Sure, it is a perfectly logical ask from both of them.

The potential problem doesn't come now but 2 seasons later, when 'buwaytress' wants to sell his club. His buyer 'Mustafa63' doesn't want to pay the double fee so they agree that the club will be gifted.
Naturally, 'Mustafa63' sends money to 'buwaytress' for the club through DM - but BSFL participants are harmed in the process because extra fee has not been paid.

That would mean that we'd have to choose when to grant it and when not to based on subjective criterium, in the form of 'we trust icopress but not Mustafa63'.
That is the path we don't want to take so we want to have a sensible rule in place - one that allows icopress to gift the club in this specific instance (considering that the fee to the league has already been paid), but one that also protects us from misuse in the future.

Club selling is fantastic but don't sell our clubs to non BSFL participants - it was supposed to be internal trades from my original idea. It takes more than passion and love of the game to stay active and submit answers every week for those of us who have been here for 10 seasons now.. nothing to think about here, I've given the solution already.. take my words as a Prophet

Ffs, I just realized that I went with a wrong pick on Real-Villareal game. I wanted to go with under 1.5/under 3.5, and instead clicked on the one above which was under 1.5/over 3.5.

Even bookies don't think Real scoring over 3.5 goals is likely to happen, as odds on that are ~3, meaning it won't even be worth it to hedge (under 3.5 goals is ~1.35). What a blunder, gonna need a shit load of luck to win that question.
