It was a horrible Q3 for Verstappen. Because his last lap was deleted due to being out of track limits. His last sector was really incredible despite losing time in the first sector. He was going to take the pole from Leclerc's hands by only 0.005s. But that deletion resulted in 6th place for Verstappen.  

I must still admit that it was hell of a drive by Leclerc as well. He also deserved the pole with that clean lap. The qualifying session was enjoyable and hopefully the race would be the same as well.

That says it all then as I didn't wait 11 PM European time to watch the qualifying thinking that Verstappen would have an easy win there.When I saw the standings today in the morning I thought that maybe his ego to keep doing great even after winning the title is slowing down little by little,I see that I am mistaken now and most likely tomorrow will be a great race with so many good drivers in front of him in a difficult track like this one.

The odd should be way more than 1.23 right now and I think this is a good opportunity to bet on him to win some extra money for the weekend.

Verstappen's odds have been increased by bookmakers - but only to 1.57.    However it is still not that bad actually. I believe it is good enough to add it to a parlay full of bets you trust. We are talking about Verstappen here in the end.    Norris and Hamilton have 6.50 while Leclerc has 7.00. I understand this though because Ferrari are mostly better in qualifying compared to race performance.

By the way I don't think starting from a little behind is a big deal for Verstappen. I believe he can still win by a big margin.

I agree but what I also think why Perez does that bad although he has the same car as Verstappen,I should not be surprised that much as he has been consistently bad during these recent races.Verstappen can pass the drivers ahead him in the first stint before the first pit stop if the car is in full power and he is also in full motivation.

As for the pool I have decided these last races to put the 10 persons I have gone with at least 90% of all the races no matter what happens,it is one of those few races for me that I fail to find the Pole sitter while most of the time I and many others have found him as most of the races that has been Verstappen  .

In today's Sprint, Verstappen didn't seem to push all the time and he still ended up winning with a lead of over nine seconds in just 19 laps. Being 0.5 seconds faster per lap compared to Hamilton, who came second, and having DRS for overtaking, might make a Verstappen win very likely.

Even in case overtaking could be difficult for him, Red Bull seems to have a good tyre management here in Austin once again and there are quite a few high speed corners, where the tyres will suffer. Should Verstappen struggle to overtake, he could just switch to a different strategy, where managing tyres are an option.

Odds are down to 1.37 after Sprint.
Most likely due to Verstappen being very dominant in Sprint.


But it could be an interesting race. Perez really struggled to make up places. It took him many laps to get past Sainz.
On the other hand - Verstappen is not Perez.

The race is interesting as it looked like Verstappen could not win yet he is leading the race but on a different strategy as Norris with Hamilton will go to the end Verstappen has a mandatory pit stop to make because it is mandatory in this race to use at least 2 type of tires as a rule.So it is interesting because Versappen cannot create an enough big of a gap so he can go for the last stop and use the soft tires which are not recommended at all by Pirelli for this track because of the huge consumption they provide and you will use them only for 8-9 laps at best in here.It is a couple of laps that Norris is less than 1 second behind Verstappen which has another stop to do while Norris can go till the end,so it will be an interesting end of this race,most likely Verstappen won't win.

We have left one of the interesting races in the season behind. Because after the race Hamilton and Leclerc's cars couldn't pass post-race controls and they were both disqualified. 

After the new results I assume that Superbru results for this week would also be updated soon. For now I can see the actual results beside the picks correctly however the points are still the same for everyone as it seems. When it comes to the race actually I really appreciated Hamilton's high effort. He could have even won the race if there were a couple of more laps but this disqualification was going to ruin him anyway. He must be really disappointed.

Awww yess. Couldn't improve my Superbru rankings but I think I'm in 2nd spot behind Ulven. Only four races to go so I guess my hopes there are dissipating now but my "negative" picks in jeremypwr's prediction games at least won me some salvation with freebets to claw my money back haha.

Hammie disqualification probably had more impact on eventual standings than anything else, huh? He'd probably say it was worth it, though, as no one ran Max so ragged recently.

@CLs63 yeah I see leaderboard updating now, I definitely got more points than yesterday (10.5 now compared to fewer than 10 yesterday).

I don't know in which place I am now but I think it is a sure thing I am definitely out of the top 5 based on this race as it is the race that I have got the least number of points,only 9 after the disqualification of Leclerc and Hamilton,which with them I would have 11 points,still very low points.

I believe I am a candidate for the wooden spoon during this race as I doubt anyone else has done worse than me,this race was unpredictable but well that is F1 and it was a beautiful race after all,now it would be really nice if I end in a prize spot while not many race ago I was fighting for 2nd or 3rd spot,funny how things change for the worse  .

I hope there will be better tyres again, according to the state of the art there would probably be tyres with more performance and endurance, but this is not allowed by the regulations at the moment as far as I know. There would be more pushing and not so much attention to tyre wear.

The disqualification of Hamilton and LecLerc has shaken up the Superbru standings again. Is it already up to date and are Mercedes and Ferrari still appealing?

Ey guys, i see something strange in Superbru, its like its not working good, or they take the sprint race as the main, because if you check you can see Hamilton is not in the points positions and also is Norris in P2. Anyone see the same? or is only an issue on my side?

The race got quite interesting indeed after the changes made which affected the podium directly at the same time. Hamilton really deserved that position and even a win maybe. Because he could have made it if there was even one more lap. But instead he got disqualified. I guess that they complained to FIA already but I wouldn't expect the decision to change.

Now we are in another race week indeed. Mexico is home country for Perez but I doubt him a lot anyway. I doubt him but I still continue to add him into my podium picks though.

Superbru is now up to date with the points and Ulven has taken first place by a large margin, congratulations.

Yes, Hamilton and Leclerc were diqualified because of the skid block, I also read today that Mercedes has accepted the verdict and will not appeal.



EXPLAINED: Why Hamilton and Leclerc were disqualified from the United States GP

It is a new race week now! Mexico Grand Prix is up next and this is a special race for Sergio Perez absolutely. I haven't been satisfied with his performance in the recent times though. He has been struggling a lot and it has been quite much time since we saw him on podium the last time. 

But maybe this race would be some extra motivation for him to do a good job in qualifying and go for podium in the race as well. I checked the statistics of the most recent race weekends here in 2021 and 2022. The podiums were idential to each other - Verstappen won and Hamilton - Perez duo were coming right behind respectively. Let's see what happens this time.

Well those disqualifications made the top standings very interesting up to second place from 8th place at least,anyone having a real chance to jump positions in these last 4 races remaining.I thought I would do really bad with only 9 points but I see I am 6th and just 2.5 points away from the top three spots which is a real objective.I thought I would never be fighting for a top 5 spot in here after this race but those disqualifications gave hope to me and many other people who were not thinking at all to be able to fight for those spots just 2 races before.

I thought that 10 points in this round was bed result, but obviously two disqualifications made life miserable for most in the pool
nevertheless, stuck at 15 place in general placement, and can hardly go anywhere from there (I think that last 10 races I am on position 15)

have to say that season was really boring, with Max winning every race, and occasionally being far from top in qualifications, so you can watch him overturning lower cars, as they are driving scooters compared to him

By the way there has been a really big rate of drop in Alonso's performance for quite many races. Until Zandvoort GP he got 7 podiums in 14 races. This is a really magnificent performance. Aston Martin made a huge progress with big updates on the car in the first times of the season.

However after leaving the first half of the season behind Aston Martin started to fall behind a lot. Alonso's best ranking was 6th place in the last 5 races. Aston Martin also admitted that their simulation data misled them on this road.

Still I really admire Alonso as he is really carrying the team by himself in the standings.

Absolutely true,Stroll I don't know what he does racing in F1 as clearly this is not his passion at all otherwise with that car in the early part of the season at least he should have done similarly well to Alonso,not quite well as Alonso as he lacks experience but similarly he should had done.

In this second part of the season Stroll has been really weak in every official qualifying and also in every race that followed,I think he only got into points in these last race because of Alonso failure and 2 disqualifications that happened to drivers in front of him.

Perez has always been very motivated and good for a podium finish at the Mexico Grand Prix, but at the moment, although he is second in the championship, he is not very good in the races and makes mistakes. Maybe the home race will be the right time for him to come out of his slump.

I'm afraid Stroll has just been a big disappointment for Aston Martin so far.    I don't think he would have been able to stay much long at a team whose owner isn't his father. Even his father must be really fed up with his bad performances. Because Aston Martin made an insane progress before but only Alonso took advantage of it.

Stroll wasn't an unskilled driver actually. I don't know what is going wrong on his side. Maybe he has concentration issues because he makes simple mistakes which costs him points.
