LOL.. England women batted first and managed just 116 runs, as none of the batters made a score of more than 25. Danni Wyatt got out in the very first ball. Maia Bouchier top-scored with 23, as Lankan bowlers ripped though the England batting lineup. Anyway, it is of great shame that England lost a series against Sri Lanka at home. The Lankan spinners were very effective, especially Chamari Athapaththu and Kavisha Dilhari. If England wants to put up a good performance in the ODI series, then they need to find out a way to handle the Lankan spinners.

South Africa Women team came out to bat first today and set a target of 292 runs in 50 overs. South Africa Women team looks like they got the right runs to win today. Sune Luus scored 107 runs from 129 balls. Marizanne Kapp 105 runs  Scored 107 runs. These two batsmen of South Africa Women team have batted very well today. But now if they can perform well in bowling then South Africa Women team will have a chance to win this match. Pakistan Women team will come out to bat in a very short time.  Pakistan Women team's performance could not be very good. Now let's see how well they can do in batting.

Just think about the odds if you could predict that Sri Lanka of all women's team would defeat England when they are touring England, i never expected that and placed a bet on the first match and England won easily but then the next match, i put the match in a parlay and lost my bet and hence did not want to place a bet after that and surprise, Sri Lanka won the third match and the series .

Doubt that they could replicate the same performance in the longer format but it should be the upset of the season.

First of the regional qualifiers for the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup got completed today. From the East Asia-Pacific region, Vanuatu has qualified for the next round. In the next round, a total of 10 teams will compete against each other, and out of them 2 will qualify for the world cup. Other regional qualifiers are undergoing at this point. Two teams will qualify from Asia, and at this point four teams have a chance to finish at top 2 - UAE, Nepal, Thailand and Hong Kong. From Americas, USA is leading right now. Two slots will be allotted from Europe, and most probably will be taken by Netherlands and Scotland.

The ODI was played in the Riverside Ground, England, winning the toss England Women's team decided to bowl first. Madavi being the top scorer for Sri Lanka Women's team with 35 runs. Finally Sri Lanka lost all wickets scoring 106 runs in 30.2 overs. England Women's team chased the target in 18 overs losing 3 wickets and leads 1-0.

The second ODI once again a win for the South Africa Women team. Now Pakistan Women team will be focusing to win the last match and avoid the whitewash of the series. The final ODI is scheduled for 14^th September. Today we've got South Africa vs Australia men's cricket. It is very interesting as South Africa needs to open its winning to have the possibility of winning the series, if not the series goes into the hands of Australia.

Pakistani bowlers were very economical, and they picked up wickets at crucial intervals. In return, Pakistan is at 55/1. They need another 131 runs to win from 37 overs.

Two series were held between Pakistan Women's and South Africa Women's team. The tour of Africa would end with a resounding series win for Pakistan in the T20 series and loss of ODI series. However, Pakistan Women's team is very likely to win today's last ODI match. It has been proven that the Pakistan women's team is yet to play a reliable game. Like the Men's Cricket, the women's team has also had inconsistencies for which they lost the ODI series after  whitewash in T20. But considering the performance of today's match, they have performed well. There is a possibility of Pakistan Women's team victory by just losing only two wickets.

In the end, they won the match quite comfortably. Pakistani women achieved something that they failed to achieve in men's game. South Africa still won the ODI series 2-1, but Pakistan should be proud of their performance. In terms of women's cricket, Pakistan is miles behind South Africa. Pakistan is one of the few full member nations who doesn't have a franchise T20 league for the women cricketers yet. Still they put up a credible performance against the South African women. Yesterday, after good performances by the bowlers, Sidra Ameen and Bismah Maroof took them home quite comfortably.

For mens cricket Sri Lanka has a pretty good team and can compete with other big teams but for women cricket I don't really follow it and from reading some of the feedback in this thread I am interested in also following women T20 and ODI cricket.
I watched a little of Sri Lanka match when they went to England for the ODI series at the beginning of September but there the Sri Lankan team didn't really seem to play well and indeed England dominated in the last match.

But to be honest when you watch a cricket game in the T20 or ODI series it tends to be more enjoyable when it comes to the mens team because there are quite nimble and fast runs and even the ball is always struck in a strong condition.

For mens cricket Sri Lanka has a pretty good team and can compete with other big teams but for women cricket I don't really follow it and from reading some of the feedback in this thread I am interested in also following women T20 and ODI cricket.
I watched a little of Sri Lanka match when they went to England for the ODI series at the beginning of September but there the Sri Lankan team didn't really seem to play well and indeed England dominated in the last match.

But to be honest when you watch a cricket game in the T20 or ODI series it tends to be more enjoyable when it comes to the mens team because there are quite nimble and fast runs and even the ball is always struck in a strong condition.

In the past we used to see women's ODI and T20 matches with low scores. Now things have got batter with the leading teams and we can see the scores going down depending on the teams. Teams like England, South Africa, Pakistan, India have progressed to score around 150 runs in T20 matches. Teams like Sri Lanka, Ireland were on the next list at the scores levelling between 100-120 runs. With time this will have changes as the players will gain experience and perform better than before.

Today the quarter final match between India Women and Malaysia Women have taken place. Due to rain, overs have been reduced to 15 overs. India Women team managed to score 173/2 with Smriti (27 runs), Shafali (67 runs), Rodrigues (47*runs), Richa Ghosh (21*runs). Due to rain interruption Malaysia started the innings and ended with two balls bowled. Further the match wasn't able to resume and ended with no result.

Though the match hadn't got the result, India progressed to the semi final based on the higher seeding. This is just a method that is being followed in most of the games. In this method the previous tournament performance of the team and the players strength and some other factors. In some way it looks like there is injustice for Malaysia Women team.

In the India Women vs Bangladesh Women team match, Bangladesh Women team came out to bat first. They gave a target of 51 runs in 17.5 overs. Bangladesh Women team batsmen were all out for which Bangladesh Women team could not give a target of more runs. India Women team made this run very easily.  Overcoming the match was a victory. I was very happy to see the performance of India Women team in this match. I was supporting India Women team in this match.

Bangladesh Women team batsmen were all out for which Bangladesh Women team could not give a target of more runs. India Women team made this run very easily.  Overcoming the match was a victory. I was very happy to see the performance of India Women team in this match. I was supporting India Women team in this match.

Will be interesting to see who will be their opponents in the final match. The second semi is between Sri Lanka and Pakistan (the associate nations got a rough deal, as they got disqualified for the semis after the QF matches were washed out). Anyway, there is zero chance that either Sri Lanka or Pakistan may win the gold medal. India is a level above them, especially after the BCCI started Women's Premier League. Their comprehensive win against Bangladesh yesterday just showcases the skill differences between India and the other teams.

In today's match of Bangladesh Women vs Pakistan Women team, Bangladesh Women won by 5 wickets. Pakistan Women team came to the field to bat first and gave a target of 64 runs in 20 overs. Team. Bangladesh Women team's batting performance was amazing, for which Bangladesh Women team won the match very easily. Pakistan Women team could not give a target of many runs to make the batsmen perform poorly. However, if Pakistan Women team scored 130 runs in this match. If we could have given the target, we would have seen a tough fight between the two teams.
