What if bitcointalk creates a casino review and ratings board for members.

Apparently, the request by members for casino review is becoming demanding due to some experience they have had with some casinos coupled with the complaints of account banning, suspension and poor customer care service which is now beginning to eat deep into casinos with claims of account holders defaulting their policies which if properly investigated, the gambler is not guilty of the penalty and actions metted against them. Some cases here onboard this platform have been sorted out with some gamblers being innocent and funds by winning being released to them while some casinos and their representative are no where to be found.
 Of lately, there have been some issues with casinos locking their thread preventing further discussion by members while directing members to their website customer care which is barely active in responding to members.

Nevertheless I was thinking if there could be a thread under the Economy board created separately for casinos review ( all casinos registered here) with star ratings whereby members could also take part in the ratings for casinos and their performance which would make them seat up doing things right. This would make all registered casinos and their various representatives onboard this platform to doing their work diligently in responding to customers and being active here.  However, if a casino fails to doing or resolving issues between a member and them and consecutively, such casino is being reported here and after much deliberation on the scam accusations board or reputation with no fruitful result, hence there is every possibility of blacklisting such casino by high rank DT1 and DT2 members after they have put efforts to resolving the issues but the casino fails to resolve.
With this, I think casinos would start being up and doing accordingly to avoid being blacklisted here because if they should get blacklisted, that means they are not upto standard for operating  here.
With this casino review and ratings board members both old and new would know better casinos to identify with and if any member chooses to identify with a casino after seeing their ratings and review to be very poor, that member would have no option than to face his or her problem by themselves when it dawn on them or if the case is otherwise.

Casinos are just another type of businesses and they are already treated separately and have a pretty big part of the forum.
As businesses, one place for this could be in "Service Discussion".
As gambling businesses, this could go directly into Gambling. And, interestingly, if such a comparison/reviews topic gets traction, it will pretty much stay on the first page of gambling topics, so it should be OK.
Plus: if a gambling business doesn't act fairly, the Scam accusations (and maybe Reputation too) areas are welcoming the users with complaints.

So, sorry, I don't see why an entire area would be needed for reviews/rating only.
Keep in mind that there are nations present on this forum having only a single topic for themselves. Maybe this gives you a better idea.

Well, actually I would say that we already have the tools in the forum so people can discuss about specific casinos and experiences on them. so I do not see much of the point on implementing such changes. Besides, does not this star based system require some coding work to adapt the forum software? Or do you mean to use the survey model to vote with stars instead?.

Though, I must say that the blacklisting system sounds interesting, it may go against the censorship policy of the forum. People is allowed to tag alleged scammers, but tags do not mean a ban will get issued.

We can already give posiive or negative trust to casino announcements and talk under those threads about any issues. That's the way i am checking if the casino i am putting money in is any trustworthy.
I can't see any value building ranking or review system and don't see that serving anything new except maybe possible vote manipulation and vote spamming for money.

That is right. If you are already in the forum, one way is to check the trust summary of their representative in this forum.
You can validate if the feedback is valid or not by checking the reference link of each feedback.
Because some complaints are just to troll a given casino, and you will know if they are just ruining the image of the casino by checking their proofs.
As you said, anyone can just browse their thread and see for themselves what's going on with the site.
There are also few casino/bookie ranking site and reviews that are for me worth to take a look at that you can also find in the gambling section.
As many users are already promoting casinos, it may really be a spam thread if we will create another one specific for this topic.

I think creating a new thread for reviews and rating is a good idea in terms of convenience.  Even though we already have an announcement thread for each gambling company, it would be great if there is a thread that has the list of the casino dedicated to ratings and reviews.  

But, as good as the idea sound, I think it requires lots of labor for maintenance and updates.  If anyone can do the @OP idea then I think it is great in terms of convenience.

I don't think prominent or well known Casino review sites list all the cryptocurrency casino site on their platform, they mostly share top online gambling sites. The forum is the right place to execute such requests, though the members are doing a great job to trace legitimate casinos, but not every user knows where to lay their complaints. Hence, currently, such reports fit into boards like service discussion, gambling section, meta or reputation section which gets answers from different members in the forum. Some people who give out answers on the reputation section may not be opportune to see a thread on service discussion or other boards, relating to casino review, because they don't visit those boards. I think creating a board can unite every user who wants to contribute on casino reviews to always be active on that board and also mods can then move every thread regarding casino review to the board. It will help provide quality responses from members in the forum, other than creating a thread on economic section which may not get the attention of every member.

This is a good recommendation but I doubt it will be implemented, scams are not moderated here, there are concerns and complaints that are addressed properly by casinos and some complaints that are still pending because casinos prefer not to show their proof to protect the integrity of their platform and this doesn't mean that they deserve a bad rating, and there's also a possibility of manipulation of that rating, some casinos will just hire shills or those who want to get paid to give them a good or bad rating,
And because of the competition, some casinos could hire some members to give casinos good or bad ratings that really do not reflect their reputation.
I'm ok with the current rating of tagging and creating a flag.

There are already tons of threads with reviews on the various casinos that use this forum. A simple search will point you to a minimum of 5 casino review sites. They might point you to a different web page but that's nothing.

I do think that if a casino is going to advertise on this forum or use any portion of the forum, they should have an active representative on this forum and an active topic so that poeple have a way to interact with the casino. Any casino without a thread and rep should be locked.

I 100% disagree with sites who refuse to participate in certain sections of the forum due to whatever reasons. Specifically the scam accusations section. If you have an accusation against your site it is your responsibility to defend your site. If it's a valid accusation fix it, if it's not then disprove it. Trolls are everywhere, get over it.

Great idea, there was a guy here running his casino review website with quite decent reviews, perhaps he's willing to cooperate? No doubt, such a thread would become very popular among local regulars. However, there are also risks like fake/paid reviews? How are you planning to filter those?

Seen casino review sites before, more then one & probably there is loads and only a new site would be lacking some kind of review somewhere.  A forum is something different character to just reviews, I had a friend set up a review site decades ago and I wrote something for the site and so did others but dont think it ever took off I reckon because it was not interactive enough.    I used to write movie reviews but I never got enough feedback to make it interesting for me so havent done it for ages.  Reviews normally would be driven by traffic to the sites themselves, referal and advertising I guess; I would have to rate this forum as superior for being more independent.

I don't think it has to come directly from the forum. There are a lot of community members in here that have already done the same thing for the past few years and people are constantly adding inputs into it and creating unbiased reviews to make sure that gamblers are equipped with the right knowledge before trying a platform out. Also, I don't think theymos will approve this anymore given that the last board that we have added (Ivory Tower IIRC and some local sub-boards) was from years ago. Just use the search function of this forum and you'll see that there are threads in Gambling Discussion that talks about this exact same thing and there's a lot of them there.

So far it's not getting support because we have already a lot of things in place on describing and reviewing casinos' reputations, we have the scam sections, we can give them bad or good ratings and we can create flags on bad actors in the industry, and so far these things have done what it is intended for.
It's up to players to check reviews from a specific casino's official thread, creating a board will make them lazy to check the status of the casinos and Bitcointalk is a forum about Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency, crypto casinos just happen to be an industry in the Cryptocurrency world.

I don't think a new board is necessary, people can always leave feedbacks(which happens every time a new casino pops up) on the ANN thread that the casino created. if the casino decided to make a questionable or shady action against a gambler there is always the scam accusation board where they can post the issue and their evidence.

Actually there are several review sites on crypto casinos and they have been around for a long time even for now review sites like this they have competed to be the most popular review site.
Cadi for what if they have to do casino reviews and leaderboards again if there are already many sites that they do aim to do casino reviews and rankings for members here.
It's better to think of other ideas or things that are more useful for the forum and all the members than to think of things that already exist.

There is no need to create another thread containing reviews from every member because every new casino that is launched always gets reviews from almost all members who like to gamble. Members with their experiences contribute to providing suggestions, input and criticism to the casino through their representatives. From there, we can find out whether the casino is worth trying because if the representatives are very active in communicating with us here, they aim to promote the casino through this forum.

And that is more than enough for people who want to find a casino that is good for them and to avoid scams. But unfortunately, people are too lazy to search and just randomly choose a casino without reading reviews from all the members, even though we always recommend finding out about the casino before we play.

I feel like this request is not necessary. I mean already we have a dedicated Gambling section for all the gambling sites. The gambling sites have their own threads here, and it is managed by one of the site’s officials also. So if you want to read any queries or review about the site, you can directly check there and how the site officials responded to the feedback or query can be also seen there. Regarding ratings, usually people rate low, if the site seems to be fishy. You can easily do that in Scam Accusations Board with solid proofs. So as of now, I don’t see any important necessity for the request made by OP.

I think this is not limited to casino services. I've found many reports on exchanges, traders, platforms, etc and most of them are easily accessible. Sure, some threads might get buried because people no longer post there due to various reasons, but searching as mentioned above is still available. It is a bit inconvenient for sure, but so does managing a thread dedicated to casino reviews. Unlike the signature campaign overview, there is a difference in depth IMO. You can't easily verify some casino claims, but you can easily check if a campaign is scamming its participants or not.

The fact that some casinos give no response should be a good indicator of whether you should try their platform or not. Flags and trust ratings are quite effective. A good business would definitely try its best to respond to accusations. If they don't care about it, either they don't think the customer here is important, or they are just scamming people. You can't really give them any blacklist or something similar if they don't really care. What newbies can do is probably learn and understand common scammers' tactics and avoid any platform that ticks the box. You can probably make an informative thread about it and request it to be pinned, it should help most new users without being too taxing for everybody.

I remember there was someone created such thread few years ago. A thread where bitcointalk members vote for the best casino for the year but do you know the result? It does not represent the reality because non reputable casinos can offer a small reward for members to vote for them. It is just hard to have valid rating if it is based on vote or rating by bitcointalk members. This is a good idea I must say, but unfortunately, suggestions as this never get implemented on this forum, if you check the Meta board, you will see and read a lot of good ideas that if implemented, could raise the standard of this forum by a good height, but then, it's just what it is.

No doubt casinos have the largest part of the board as they draw traffic and generate huge amount of money from their activities. Not only that, members benefit from their activities such as advertisement through signature campaign which they are paid in btc, bonuses and lots more.
Actually, I was not thinking of the forum creating a whole space for the reviews and ratings. It will just be at the top of the gambling board thread pinned there and possibly on the first page of the gambling board for a clearer view when members come online navigating towards the gambling board.

Casinos would probably prefer settling accusations in court when there are information that cannot be disclosed here. They just say they have enough reason to believe that a user was cheating or exploiting their platform after their careful investigation. I've seen in the many accusation thread that casinos don't want to reveal how their system really works. The case will remain unresolved if they do that but that doesn't mean their refusal to share mean they are guilty.

There is the ANN thread of each casino and I think there is enough space there to discuss pretty much everything related to the specific casino,including scam accusations,of course when someone has valid proofs because anyone can say whatever he likes when he feels that he has lost a lot of money and he is a bad loser,does not accept losing money that easily.

So the point of creating a thread to keep all the casinos rating in one would create an unnecessary mess as people would have difficulties seeing rating for each casino because a reply for one would be marked by a reply for another one and as such there is no reason to do this.

That's a nice idea and could create some new traffic for the forum here. The gambling section is quite big with a lot of casinos advertising here and many gamblers exchanging their ideas and strategies. Especially the sport betting section is very active with betting tips almost every single day. Having a more centralised form for casino reviews could be nice for new people looking for a new casino. But many members here on the forum have been around for years and already know most of the casinos. I would definitely give more weight to reviews written by forum members than by any other people online, as long as they are not getting paid for it. We wouldn't need some kind of supervision though that makes sure the claims in the reviews are true. Otherwise it could be easy for the competition to make some fake claims.

Bitcoin Forum is not affiliated with gambling. There is a separate section here to promote a gambling site and discuss gambling as gambling sites have now started accepting Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency payments. But I don't think a forum should do more than that. Gambling is a type of business but this is only a bitcoin discussion forum so I don't see any justification to have a separate casino review and ratings board on this forum.

User can simply based on the trust rating of the casino bitcointalk account here to determine whether it is reputable or not because shit casino usually get the negative trust they deserve if they do a scam against forum user. Exactly, for example is that those who are participating in the signature campaign will give great review to the casino although in fact they do not even play in the casino.

A pinned topic, yes, that can work, but a topic doesn't even have to be pinned in order to be visible. As I said in my previous answer: make a topic with all the relevant info; if it gets enough traction and people keep talking there, it will be on the first page in Gambling and it should be good enough. If theymos and/or the mods will see that being maintained and useful for long enough time, they may pin it.

Just pinning a topic without proving its long time usefulness is risky; a topic can easily get outdated and because of that it'll show a casino being great, but in reality it's deserted (just as an example). You may be very active now and in 2 years you may no longer visit the forum; what will happen with the topic then?!

I can also add that sometimes, searching through this forum might not get one the desired results, most especially for those who don't know how to use the right keywords in their search, or searching an unpopular casino with not many reviews or no reviews at all yet from users.
In a situation like the above, users can always use search engines out side this forum for their research, not a must that every single thing must be done on this forum when it comes to gambling, this is absolutely not possible as far as i know.

Also, this forum is not limited to gambling related activities and investments. This forum speaks for crypto related investments and projects in general. I also agree with what other users have mentioned that there should be a separate individuals to do that perhaps hired by gambling sites. Also, such thing would be possible if gambling platforms are under one association, perhaps, in order to have only one criteria for judging. Otherwise, things will just be biased as you've mentioned.

If this forum will be utilized, opinions will just be the basis for ratings. Some are well constructed but unfortunately, some are just because they are promoting a specific gambling site, therefore you won't get an accurate answer unless you would be engaging to each of their suggested platforms and see it for yourself, how well that platform is doing.

Besides the positive and negative feedback that a casino account here receives over time, there is also their official thread. There are threads that have lively and fun discussions but there are also others that are replete with complaints. Some complaints are even opened in scam accusations board.

As far as accusations are concerned, there are casinos that respond immediately while there are also others that choose to leave everything hanging and unresolved. Some casinos have more scam accusations than others.

But I think @OP will struggle to provide the update because even if we also help, @OP should put it on the start page to notify that the thread has been updated.

By bitcointalk means forum user is the one who will do the review and not the moderator. This way the forum is still in neutral since an administrator is not involved on the process of reviewing of all the casino. This is good to collect all the data from forum users towards the casino. We are all playing on different casino here and our experience is enough for a credible review rather than review site like trust pilot which is full of paid reviews.

I believe every project promoting their business on this forum has an ANN thread, not just Casino's. This sounds a great idea because it will be much more convenient if we will have this feature in forum, casino review and rating board for the newbies and those people who want to discover and try something new. However, this will take additional effort, maintenance, and of course, funding because the more board there is, the more posts the moderators will have to look at filter. In this case, they might hire additional manpower. Which actually sounds good because of employment, right, but the thing is it's an additional cost on their side.

We already have the right avenue such as gambling and gambling discussion for this which members can freely review and make ratings of a casino they have tried, so I guess this will suffice for now. I can also add that sometimes, searching through this forum might not get one the desired results, most especially for those who don't know how to use the right keywords in their search, or searching an unpopular casino with not many reviews or no reviews at all yet from users.
In a situation like the above, users can always use search engines out side this forum for their research, not a must that every single thing must be done on this forum when it comes to gambling, this is absolutely not possible as far as i know.

There have been many talks about changing the forum and doing formation or courses, etc... however these have not come to any conclusion. I don't see any need for this OP, every gambling projects on this forum already have their announcement thread one by one, all you need to do is read comment from other users, you will be able to find out if the project is trustworthy or not.

You can give a bad rating to any project on the forum if they do something bad or complain to the team first, if they care about their reputation first, they will fix your problem, I still recommend using a well rated gambling platform, to avoid some disappointment.

I dont really see any relevance on having one which you do make out a rating or review thread for casinos which same as you said that we do already have those ANN threads which you could really be able to post up

This could also lead to some people posting their experiences in the ann thread and others in the review and ratings board. Then it would make it harder to find accurate information about a casino in one place.  

Given time they'll learn to post on the review board if it's made available. The Ann thread is good, but it's always filled with generalized discussions not specific to the casino. I agree with you, there is no way to do it, but what if all the threads that are created about crypto casinos are enough? You are quite right about this, the voting mechanism is very easy to abuse even though we have tried to make rules that can reduce abuse but still people always have ways to commit fraud, there are already many trusted review websites, one of which is owned by the forum member you mentioned .

We see a lot of sites that provide ratings for casinos and they are filled with inaccurate reviews or votes because casinos pay them to do it and casinos like that cannot be trusted at all.

Threads with reviews like this, can be manipulated by the competition. It does not take a lot of effort to create "dummy" accounts to attack the reputation of their competition. Alt accounts can be bought with little effort and a thread like that can be derailed by these accounts. 

We have a scam accusation section on this forum, where we deal with "dark" operators... and I think it is quite affective to sort out most of these issues.    False accusations are pulled apart in that section, so the chance for manipulation are smaller, because it is focused on that.

Your suggestion are great but I think Bitcointalk isn't a gambling regulating body and as such, treats gambling related businesses as same with every other business without any preferences.
I also think that the Ann thread if any casino is enough to know if the casino is trustworthy or not and there is already a user or member of the forum @gamblingbro if I'm not wrong with the name who already runs a great site that helps rate and review casinos and gambling houses.
I think anyone getting into gambling ain't expected to just jump on any random site just for it's sake but rather do some deligent research about any casino he or she intends using.

In addition, casinos that have created ANN threads on this forum will get a lot of reviews from all of us and that is an honest review given to the casino so that the casino can be even better in the future. But if the casino can't accept our suggestions or criticisms, we have to be careful because usually, the casino won't take its customers seriously. And it could be that the casino will cheat us.

So this forum has given us more and it's just us who have to find what we want. If we want to find a casino that we can trust and where we will play gambling, we have to look for it ourselves and not rely on others.

But you have to be careful because in the gambling section there is a JST thread which is always filled with newbie accounts to give fake reviews.

Why do you think that it's your or someone's duty to take of very irresponsible people? When I visit gambling section, I see that there are tons of crypto casinos, some of them have active ANN threads and some of them have inactive ANN threads but they exist and they are a lot.

Many users play gambling in the forum, some play for fun, some play as a profession, some play to spend their free time. So I think there might be a vote for this matter.  And it can be opened if it is found that the huge amount of users agree to it. The number of active users in the gambling section and the number of posts in the gambling section suggests that this issue might pass the vote. But since gambling is a bad addiction, it is better to keep it a little secret so that it does not affect the children. These days the forum has become so popular that many kids have started jumping on it. I can't imagine that the management of the forum or anyone who is passionate about it would consider working on a project like this. This is since it does not provide any addition to the forum, not even to the community ; First, because the management of the forum will not want to involve itself in such a project, and because the administration does not supervise any of the projects that run its business using the forum, especially gambling platforms and other service platforms. I reckon BTCGosu and other similar posts are more than enough. Even without considering it (it was my most relied on when I first tried gambling online), there are probably a few other posts here that list a bunch of casinos, their details, and possibly a bunch of reviews. Considering that this forum is composed of legit members or to those newly created scammy accounts which are intended for scamming purposes on which they could create as much as they could and make out

I agree with this because just like scams have nothing to do with the forum, and the admin will never get involved in scam moderation in this forum, same way reviews of the casinos are left in the hand of the individual players to search out the site that best serves their interest and not relying on third party reviews to make their decisions.

I think after reading his OP, he asked me, we really understand how the forum works.

 The thing is that everything you mention exists and in fact is working fine, I think it's a matter of a particular point of view, but specifically it would be redundant.

 On the other hand, I think that local boards should have a specific section related to gambling.

No matter how bad is the experience we have with other gambling platforms, Bitcointalk team would never createa review and rating board for members because that is not the reason for creating this platform at the initial time. I thought I have swwn some regular threads that is about casinos rating and what they offer. Some can create something like as a guideline for new users who are into the gambling section. This feature isn't necessary if you think like this: imagine the more reputation an official casino account has here on bitcointalk, given by other forum members, more "stars" they have. So, very reputable casinos with a lot of positive feedbacks could be considered to have 4-5 stars, while the ones which have few or none feedbacks are the neutral ones with average 2-3 stars, and the the ones negatively reviewed are the worst ones with 0-1 stars.

Actually, the system here is pretty original and unique compared to other gambling reviews websites, while also working finely.

You can already see which casinos are still around today and even pay signature users a fixed fee and last for years. Reviews of each casino are quite complete in each ANN thread created. Scam casinos will not escape the monitoring of members here, and some members have indeed given red flags to scam casinos which will be detrimental.

I think creating a new thread for reviews and rating is a good idea in terms of convenience.  Even though we already have an announcement thread for each gambling company, it would be great if there is a thread that has the list of the casino dedicated to ratings and reviews.  

But, as good as the idea sound, I think it requires lots of labor for maintenance and updates.  If anyone can do the @OP idea then I think it is great in terms of convenience.

This will be a great advantage for us especially for beginner gamblers as it will give them less chances to be scam from gambling. But it will surely requires another hard work on part of the forum just to keep the convenience for the sake of gamblers. However, gamblers should also do their part when gambling and never gamble more than an amount they can afford to lose. Is an excellent point. There would be nothing stopping well-funded campaigns from manipulating the board with paid posters, reviews, etc. in their own threads or negative posts in their competition. All of a sudden, the board would be highly inaccurate and would be a tool for the worse than for the better.

In conclusion, it is not a mandate that bitcointalk must contain everything casino and gambling, not saying its a bad thing if bitcointalk should have a board for every arm of casino and gambling, but this will put a heavy workload on the mods, that is if they really want the forum to continue to maintain its good name and reputation.
Casino reviews and rating is something that have always been done by external platforms, and it's all been good, I don't support the idea of we having a casino review and rating board on this forum, reasons I have stated before and you all have also said it, majority would never want to talk ill of the casino they are earning from through signature and other means of promotion, and this alone will result in reviews and ratings that are not honest and true, thereby deceiving gamblers in to making decisions they might end up regretting.

Not that necessary because if we do look around, we do have already some dedicated websites which do poses out those casino ratings and its true that if ever there would be some decision on having that ratings

Your personal thoughts are right, people will easily become biased for any given reason to choose a good or a bad casino from their perspective. People getting more benefits from a platform will surely rate them higher than those that don't provide them much. Such systems can also be easily abused by platform owners or representatives by hiring fake raters just to increase their ratings.

So it is basically better to let things be how they are. Currently, a casino's integrity, trust, and other services through the forum are known by visiting their ANN and also by seeing the trust score of their representative.

Simply no! It will not make any contributions except unnecessary spam! Whatever you wish to write (positive or negative) you are welcome to do that in any casino ANN thread, like each of us. If you have some undisputed case with some specific casino you are welcome to open a scam accusation in that section.

In the end, we can't compare our own (amateur) reviews with professional reviews by people who really tried deposits/withdrawals with higher amounts, and tested all games with lower and higher bets. This would be cool but I don’t see much of a point from bitcointalk’s perspective. Unless they were selling higher ratings or something. I also think it would be tough to get honest reviews when it’s likely that the reviewers have previous relationships with some of the casinos or possible even on their payroll. Unless the forum paid more than the advertisers, I can’t see this working too well.

If there is such a board then you can see a scam casino with highest reviews because its very easy to create thousands of accounts by a single person to manipulate the results and with the help of Ai tools it can be constructive too, so its not really a way to push the gambling sites to make changes in their policies but we do have accusation board where with all the solid evidence there will be strong voices coming even if the casino is highly reputed by DT community.

   What you are saying is true, although there is nothing wrong with what the op is saying, but as most people here say, it is better if there is nothing. What if we don't even find a way to find out if a casino is legitimate or not.

It seems that outside and before we are just making excuses that someone else will work instead of us doing something like this.
