Some days looks like a curse day, I wanted to keep it to myself but I felt it more reasonable to share. I involved in some business investment which initially the promise was really good after week of deal, I just back from work, I saw a call from my colleague we did the business together and I call back to hear him crying on phone. That the business we involved into is fake and the office is close, the MD has disappeared, for two minutes I was shivering with sweat because that's the highest amount I have involved business so far. Am regretting to have used in bitcoin by now I would have be on advantage with bullish price.

I have not gotten myself this days. Do you feel down when such sudden hits happens to you?

Investing is all about risk and trying to minimize it while extracting the biggest returns possible. If you want zero, or at least close to zero, risk then you should keep your money in the biggest banks earning 2% if you're lucky via a savings account. That being said, people can often be far too naive when it comes to handing over their money if someone throws them a sales pitch and there is often a level of greed to it. People see claims like doubling your money in a few months and start to have wild dreams of what they could spend the money on, but ignore the fact that such a return will come with extremely high risk of losing all your money. Be happy with taking 6-8% out of the stock market where your risk is reduced, especially if you buy an index with a diversified basket of companies.

Indeed right, investing do have risk in, that you needed to understand before jumping into any conclusion to use your hard earned money. The point is, you are willing to take that risk to earn decent earnings,

but the problem, without further knowledge about the industry, you will find yourself losing your investment instead of seeing it to grow. Before you take your step better, to equipt yourself with the right knowledge and the right idea to make sure that once you risk, you have proper sets of expectations and target to achieve.

With being said, you should take more time in learning the market that you are going to participate and use only the amount that you are willing to let go, if in case something bad happen to you always have a good backup money to finance your next try.

It's always a wise and the best idea to do research before investing your money into unknown business both offline and online. You wouldn't know about what would happen next if they suddenly doesn't give something as expected in the contract and they can just pretty easily make fake company to gain innocent investors so they can run away with them. It's pretty common to see, especially with how they "offer" a big return and that's how you should suspect them.

Good thing that I haven't fell into this kind of scams. But seeing lot of people got scammed by this, I can see the pain and suffer they must get through just to get over this. But lesson learned, that's all I say.

I guess everyone here agrees that fatal mistakes like these are fully avoidable. I mean if you say that the office was fake, actually closed and everything and everyone disappeared, I wonder how much due diligence you have put into that investment upfront before making a decision.

If your partner even cried, how in the world did you guys end up investing so much into hot air? There have been a lot of people who invested into some white papers during the first bull market in crypto, but I think most of them learned their lesson. By now really everyone should have heard about potential forms of scams, but investing in a business that doesn't exist at all is a fatal mistake that I think one should pay the price for. It sounds too naive to me. I don't know how much money you are talking about here, but if it was existential I think it is even more naive.

How do you expect anyone who lose money to feel? It hurts and you will feel like turning back the hands of time but it's already too late.

Whenever you are promised the double of your Bitcoin by any platform it is automatically a scam, the sooner you know and accept this the better, I am sorry for your loss but there is no short way to earn money from Bitcoin than holding for a long or learning and trading with Bitcoin.

High Yield Investment, Ponzi Schemes, and co don't always stay long, they can last from a month to a few months and they won't notice anyone before closing down, this is the way these scams are been run by those criminals.

It depends on the amount. If it's a big one that the person can't afford to lose then they will surely cry like a baby but if it's only a tiny amount, they will just carry on. For us, who are wise and have an experience about those things, we can easily identify them but there will always be newbies who get attracted easily by those fake offers.

I bet the OP and his friend learned their lesson and never repeat the same mistake again. For those starters, learning is free. Once they knew that anyone can invest in Bitcoin, they will never entrust their funds into someone else because there is a big chance that they will run away with our money.

As you mentioned about Bitcoin, if you had invested in Bitcoin instead of investing in other businesses, you might have made a significant profit by now because Bitcoin has come well above its bottom. I will advise if you have been into a partnership business before and had a bad encounter with those you invested together, then it will be more wise for you to find a means to remain decentralized and stand alone, sometimes it pays than being among those they were after your getting hurt, they may not show it in face but that's there intention towards you, try to alwa be independent in doing business, any collaboration that does not yield good results cease from being part of it.

Nice advise, but in this we have to be more careful not about the business venture we are into but the calibre of those that constitute the business together with you, also don't to too forward or eager to make profit in other not to fall in a pit, which such is what they have dug for you.

Usually we invest in platforms that offer good offers without due diligence. We only care about profit. And pay less attention to scrutiny. This is our main problem. However, when we invest in a platform, we should carefully search and research the platform. We usually invest by listening to people and don't even try to research ourselves. Losing money with a large amount according to our calculations is an annoying thing, I have also experienced losing money with a large amount in my opinion especially since I have almost no other money so I have to owe it, especially if we store assets in high risk crypto so if we don't be aware that you will be easily exposed to a scam.

I am happy if you feel only annoyed losing all of your money because people who lost huge amount of money for sure got depressed, problematic that affects their life and even their emotions are uncontrollable , no words can explain if you lost money that is why others you'll see in the news committed suicide as they cant sleep thinking on it. That is why it is best if you invest on what you can afford to lose so that we can still be good if lost it all

huge financial loss a person hurts more than the news of death of relatives. no person can accept financial loss well. Due to this, many commit suicide. I have seen a case with my own eyes that a person was financially well off but one time he became financially distressed and started taking loans and one time he faced high debts and got tired of them and committed suicide. So one should always be careful while investing and reduce unnecessary expenses and spend the money on good potential activities where some good returns can be obtained from the expenditure. And should keep some savings which will be useful in bad times or loss recovery

Ive heard also a lot of news about committing suicide just because they loss their investment though others might say that it is just money you can take it back but the struggle on getting those money and how hard you got it is unexplainable that is why others commit suicide thinking that they cant pay it of if it a loan or how they can live if they have nothing left. I hope people change like they are more cautious and most those people who intents to scam people will not do it and they will work hard or earn fair,

The first warning sign and easy way to detect a scam related investment is the promises that it comes with, like they are too good and enticing to be true.  And many persons fall to all of these due to their obsession to make money which then blind their sense of judgement to ask supposed questions and make deep enquiry into whatever investment scheme that come their way. I know the feeling, it's heart breaking, because money is not easy get. I lost a lot of money some years back. I wasn't scamed, it was just a wrong business decision. I was looking for a new shop to expand my business, and I saw one that has the kind of space that I needed and it was cheap. Without thinking I rushed and made payment, without considering the location, that it was not suitable for my kind of business. I spent money again putting the place in order, borrowed money from microfinance to stock the shop. After one year of very poor sales, I had to close down the business.

It affected my business capital negatively, because I wasted money on rent and decoration , was repaying bank loan, utility bills and staff. In the end I became worse off than when I started the business. So I personally knows how it feels to lose money, it's very painful.

basically they target people who are impatient and want to get money easily and quickly, so the promises they offer will be very effective bait, especially for those who lack investment knowledge. therefore we really have to be able to build by going through the processes that must be passed, so that money doesn't seem to follow us without having to look for it, because we have a good knowledge base and can enjoy investing
