Unfortunately, this type of situation occurs in the Tor browser. Since it is a configuration on the server, which I cannot change, due to the type of contract with the hosting company. I apologize for this situation, but at the moment I can't do much more in this regard.

Perhaps in the future, changes in this regard may arise, if community support continues to be felt, and which could allow for a greater investment.

I don't think this is something that should require a larger investment, but I wouldn't know how to solve it in your case. Loyce.club is now behind AWS' Cloudforce (after the DDOS it received a while ago), and it still works in Tor browser without problems.
My other data is still without any DDOS protection. As theymos wrote:

Maybe a .onion domain would work for TalkImg? I wouldn't know how to set it up for you though.

I've already been investigating what I could do, and I would practically have to set up a new website that would only work on onion.
What I would have to do was make a clone of the current site, then I would have to try to configure it so that it hosts the images on clear net.
In reality, you would end up having 2 independent services/sites instead of one.

The best solution would be to switch to a dedicated server/VPS. But, to maintain the same characteristics, it would cost twice as much. And as you can imagine, when I launched the project, I didn't want to make large investments, because I had no idea of the impact it would have. In this sense, if the project continues to evolve positively as it has done so far, and really receives support from the community, I will be able to adjust the server.

A dedicated server is indeed quite expensive, but a VPS shouldn't have to be. You're not using much bandwidth and storage, and I assume the CPU usage isn't that much either.

I snapped that image on my mobile, tried to upload, it gave me an error: “too big”.
I have a shortcut on my iPhone that reduces the size of an image. I used it, got a new picture, and uploaded it on the website.
Direct website, no VPN, no sorceries.
I copied the link, fail on Bitcointalk.org post preview.
I tried again a few times,(I hit ”new upload”) I got different image codes, so something happened, but all of them failed.

Because this iPhone system must "elude" the script, ending up uploading the larger image.
I was unaware of this situation, and I regret the inconvenience caused.

I have been blocked many times by your script. Actually so many I even created a shortcut so I can automatically reduce the size of a picture and meet forum requirement (and I even remember asking you to develop this function server side).
This is the first time an overload picture smuggled beyond the size checkpoint...

How about using CloudFlare (just like what Bitcointalk does) which have option to allow user who use Tor?

Does CloudFlare help you avoid these repetitive captchas, based on your experience with Tor?

Bitcointalk use CloudFlare and i use Tor Browser to visit this forum while rarely asked to solve captcha with 2 exception,
1. Captcha at login page which intentionally added by admin.
2. When i click "All" page.

Doesn't this get much worse when Cloudflare goes into "full DDOS protection"? Without Tor, I also get the "Checking connection" page when I click "All". But when Cloudflare is going nuts, I get that page a lot more.

I sometimes browse the forum from clear net as a guest and having "Checking connection" is regular when I am trying to read "All" posts at once. It's a pain but despite crying for even over years, we accepted this phenomenal that we have no other choice. The main man is not going to spend money for us to avoid CF.

That's true, i forget it happens on Bitcointalk few times. But on other hand, i don't know other security protection which isn't expensive.

Well, Cloudflare has a free Firewall system, I can analyze the possibility of implementing it, and check what the result will be.
As soon as I have news, I'll let you know.

In September I had the opportunity to present a new tool, which allows the user to upload an image larger than 2.5MB and it is compressed and sent to the hosting. This tool is still in beta, so errors may occur and many things may change. Server-side compression and PHP features are used, which may not guarantee the final quality of the image. Yes, especially if I have already uploaded a couple of images prior.  I've found the "new upload" button _{(feel free to correct the actual name if you must)} doesn't always work, so what I do instead is go into my profile and then click on the "new upload" button and whatever the fault is has cleared.

Did this happen just once, or several times with the same file?

This error usually occurs when a new upload is attempted but the browser did not correctly reload the page.
When you click on the "New Upload" button, what you are doing is refreshing the page, it will be the same as clicking "F5". Sometimes this refresh may not occur, generating this error.

What I recommend, if you are doing several uploads in a row, is instead of clicking the "New Upload" button, you will sometimes click "F5", to ensure that the page is actually refreshed.

I returned on this forum after some pause and discovered that imgur links don't work anymore and all images in my threads were missing. That's when I found this thread.
I have a thread about image compression where I explain benefits of image compression and tools that we can use, I think it will benefit you if people compress their images before they upload it on your website. I had never gotten such error before and so decided to check if anyone's had made same complains before then I saw yours. I tried uploading same image again but this time I edited image image from png(2.45mb) to jpeg(1mb) and it worked. I would suggest you do same mate. I don't know if it will work though for you. Please, I would love if someone could explain why this is happening because the image size limit for Talking.com is 2.5mb and my image didn't exceed this limit.

Well you are right I just tried to upload different png files with size 2.48mb, 2.46mb. 2.38mb, they all failed gave File Size error on client side.



I know this is error is on the client side since talkimg is checking image size on the client, before sending data to server.

However when I reduced the file size to 2.32mb, 2.2mb and 2.0mb i didn't get the error on client side but after I click upload got the same below error.



In the mean time i noticed my image size was <2.5mb but image dimension were above 1800x1800 pixels. When I reduced the dimension to 1700x1700 pixels, file was uploaded successfully.

I think joker_josue can answer this, however it looks like not only the image size but image dimensions or may be some other checks are in place which prevents upload on the server size.

Edit: I think my image dimension theory is wrong since I'm able to upload large 2200x2200 pixels image with smaller file size of 1.6mb.

But yes above error is valid and is reproduced able.

I had a small suggestion. I don't know if it's possible or not. Instead of checking image size can't TalkImg compress the actual image and resize it make more suitable for upload.

When I'm on my mobile I face problem when uploading. Normally a image is never less then 5mb. And it won't upload due to size limit.

Not saying image size limit should be removed. But saying it should be at least 10mb (or at least 5mb minimum) and also compression method included.

Social media's do it. They won't care about size. They would automatically compress, resize and upload.

I checked, and there is indeed a failure in recognizing images larger than 2MB, causing the upload to fail. I am analyzing what is causing this problem, as everything is configured to be able to upload up to 2.5MB.

Until can fix the problem, uploading images up to 3MB is authorized. But remember that the forum only accepts images up to 2.5MB.
