These are visits directly to the talkimg.com website. There are only 5901, but it is a number that has been increasing, which is good.

You may have to change the formation of the number, which can be misleading.

Did you have any recent problem with this code @TryNinja? I have been trying to upload the pictures from the Pie contest but all I am getting is "Invalid response content is returned from host (talkimg.com), expected response content is JSON."

I'm still able to access the website, so I suppose that this has something to do with the code?

Try opening the "Destination -> Custom" page and click "Test" next to the image upload on the bottom left, see what it returns.

Figured out what was going on. I had my VPN turned on in a specific country that was giving me that error. I just tried another server (in another country) and now it just works. I guess some VPN servers are being blocked by the protection that the website employs...

Added the ability to upload images via link. The upload rules remain the same as those applied to uploads via files. We believe that with this new functionality, it will be more practical in some cases to upload. Please remember that it is still not permitted to send images that violate copyright. Abuse of this new functionality may lead to its removal.

To use this new functionality, simply click on the "Upload" button at the top right, and click on "Add image URLs". This functionality can be especially useful, so you can quickly resend images that you have already posted here on the forum, and want them to now stay on TalkImg. I hope this new feature is useful for everyone.

I tried cleaning my history and using different browser but it didn't help, unless I have to click somewhere else.

I tried uploading image using talkIMG after reading your post and it all went well. Maybe you just need to clear your cache and try again. Recently bitcointalk has been loading slowly. I'm not sure if it's connected to this matter. LOL

I uploaded 4-5 images like half an hour earlier and everything was working normally and then suddenly it just stopped working. And yeah, like ~10 minutes ago forum was loading slowly for me too  but it passed in a minute or two while I still can't upload images via talkimg.

When you try to upload and the error occurs again, click on "report error" to check the message that appears. Then post it here so I can analyze the case.

Its working again now, without me doing anything. Too bad I forgot to check "report error" but I'll make sure to do it next time (if it happens again).

Thank you for implementing this feature and kudos for doing it rather quickly as well.  It's pretty cool when you can talk with developers directly here to make suggestions that actually turn into features on their products.  That vibe is what originally made me fall in love with this forum.  I'm glad that you're here and trying to improve things.  I hope that your experience continues to be a positive one here with this project and that you continue to be active in this community.  Maybe even inspiring others along the way.

I'm sorry to inform you, but I had to suspend this feature temporarily, as despite the tests carried out, the functionality is not working as intended. In this sense, the upload feature via link is currently inactive, until all issues involving its operation can be resolved.

Main question is, have you asked joker_josue if he agreed to allow using his image storage service for any other web site except bitcointalk.org?

Thank you for bringing the matter to attention. Interestingly, or not, I also received a PM asking if they could use it on another forum (without specifying the forum).

In reality, it doesn't bother me that it is used in other forums, as long as they accept the rules that are imposed, based on Bitcointalk. It is true that the server is currently configured to be able to reject hotlinks from sites other than Bitcointalk. But, this never guarantees that it works 100%. It may work today and not tomorrow. But, according to the experience of several users, it has been used without problems in other places other than here on the forum.

If the Bitcointalk community doesn't oppose the idea, I won't oppose it either. And I will be able to reconfigure the server, to give greater freedom and guarantees in operating in other locations. What is your opinion?

You just have to keep in mind that regular backups are made, and there are users who make a copy of all images. The rules are those in this topic. And support will always be provided only here, and with priority for Bitcointalk. Furthermore, if you want to use it, donations are welcome to support the project so that it can continue.

One thing you can rest assured, I will not delete images that do not violate the rules, no matter where they are displayed.

Eventually, you'll run out of bandwidth. If you limit yourself to Bitcointalk, you can be pretty sure you'll never have to create a server farm. If you go full scale image hosting, things can get very big very quickly. Going viral once would be enough to give you weeks of work

You just have to keep in mind that regular backups are made, and there are users who make a copy of all images.

It would be nice if you can separate images per domain. I'm currently storing 30 GB of image backups. I like keeping a backup for Bitcointalk, but if other domains upload a lot of images, it's a waste of my disk space.

If you don't manually block other domains, people will use it
A lot of people are already using in altcoinstalks.com

However, if you block altcoinatalks, as many users use both forums, some peopl e will probably move to imgdb or any other service that will fit in both.

I used the same image link several times on both forums. Sounds like a good solution to me.

You can basically copy paste this ann there. I think it is worth the effort.

A sub-domain may work: whateversite.talkimg.com. If you can enforce it so each image only loads on a certain site, they'll have to respect it.
