It’s sad indeed but, had it been this individual didn’t get to lose the money at a gambling house, what’s the guarantee that he wasn’t going to lose it some place else?

If we talk about depression and gambling, then I think that is it rather a complex topic which I am afraid I am not informed enough to comment on.
Itself depression is an illness and not a state of mind or a mood. It simply does not go away on its own and I personally think someone with depression would not gamble or consume alcohol in a regular basis as long as their depression is not treated.

That guy who ended his own life obviously suffered from some kind of mental illness, because no mentally sane person would immediately do what he did without trying to investigate why the app is showing such amount.
