To be honest, I was very disappointed with Arsenal's performance. Because in the last 3/4 matches in the Premier League, we saw the great dominance of Arsenal. This team was in great form. They also won against big teams like Liverpool.

However, Arsenal's victory in yesterday's match seemed to have no goal. They were probably playing for a draw.



From the above report it is well seen that Arsenal tried to dominate the match with 65% ball possession. But the Arsenal team, which scored 11 goals in the last two matches, could not make a single shot on target in this match. The match was Arsenal's away match. They won us during the extra time given, we know that we were all pained by the defeat but that is football for you never can tell what will happen next, we don't have a choice but to accept it the way it was,  what pained me the most is scoring us during the extra minute that is just crazy, if it had ended draw we would not have complained. but when we all thought it would end draw that is when they scored, since there other games to come i trust arsenal. and the way arsenal having been doing wonders in the premier league just makes everything interesting.

from this match, I can judge a little that Arsenal were a little less focused because away games can always reduce the mentality of the players and Arsenal mistake was being too ambitious to score without looking for a way to score by breaking into Porto defense like Trossard did he should have been able to score when he got there the ball from a high pass that he should have controlled first and shot the ball but he shot the ball directly so it didn't hit the target.
Porto advantage is that they can't control the ball like Arsenal, but in my opinion, Porto makes a few attacks but can be a little more precise and if we really look at the playing style of the Porto players, they are very good with very precise breakthrough passes.

Arsenal had a brilliant run of five consecutive victories, including demolitions (5-0, 6-0, and 5-0). But now they played a lackluster match against Porto. Arsenal had the initiative, but they didn't create clear chances for a goal. Porto could have scored in the 21st minute, but Galeno hit the crossbar and then hit the post. The Champions League is very different from the respective local leagues and that is why FC Porto was able to beat Arsenal even though Arsenal's players are quite the favourites.
In that match, I saw that Porto's players were mentally much more prepared than Arsenal's players and they were always able to play more calmly even though Arsenal didn't stop attacking.
The defeat experienced by Arsenal will be something difficult, even though the second leg of the match will take place at the Emirates Stadium and if FC Porto can make Arsenal draw with a small goal margin then FC Porto's chances of qualifying will be even greater.

I don't just understand this Arsenal team. They will disappoint you when you least expect it. How can a team have over 60 percentage of ball possession and still not be able to have a single shot on target. Arsenal really have to up their games in the Champions league if they are to go far in this competition. You can't be playing like this and expect to get something. They could have just manage to hold for a draw instead of them losing the game. I was really hoping they will transfer their current form in the premier league to the champoins league and win Porto. I am really disappointed.

Arsenal was defeated and that is what we call a disaster for the club most especially when the defeat happened to them at home in front of the fans, which could have been a big advantage to them.

Barcelona on the other hand played a 1:1 draw with Napoli and even though Barcelona made the first goal record before the equalization,  it still felt better and safer for Barcelona but along the line, they missed their steps and there was an equalization but still, we cant compared the condition to that of Arsenal who was defeated in their game.

Napoli played so poorly that I doubted if they would be able to get a draw. The defensive strategy they adopted is not the best while playing with an attacking side like Barcelona. They failed to make many attacking runs which put pressure on the defense and goalkeeper. Alex Meret had to make about five good saves that denied Barca the chance to win the game. Coach Francesco Calzona should know that a team that had just one shot on target and scored just one goal in an important game like yesterday might not be able to lift the trophy unless they improve.

Victor Osimhen is an extraordinary striker that can make a difference in any game. He can create and maximize chances. His strength and speed are one of his biggest advantages. With that single goal, Napoli has hope to qualify if they can get good result in Spain. What FC Porto did to Arsenal in the round of 16 in the UEFA champions league yesterday, really shocked their fans and it really make people to lose hope on Arsenal to lift this trophy because, their coach make use of all their strong players but the game ended up 1:0 for the favour of FC Porto.

Arsenal strikers missed many goals in that game that would have allow the game to end for the favour of Arsenal but they missed used their opportunity for their opponent to take the glory of the game, but there is still chance for Arsenal to correct the mistakes in their next games, if their coach can advise his players not to play selfish game.

This is a matter of mental play because in my opinion Porto never stopped being enthusiastic about breaking through the Arsenal defense and in the final minute an extraordinary goal from outside the penalty box. With this advantage, Arteta must provide something different in Leg 2 because that is the only chance if he wants to continue at UCL. Porto success cannot be separated from the coach's tactics of trying to break Arsenal back line, tactically the two are balanced and that should not have happened to Arsenal, who were the favorites from the start.

Indeed that is Osimhen only position at Napoli because he is aware of his comfort zone, but does not dare to challenge himself to go out and explore other European leagues. Napoli depend on Osimhen contribution so that at all costs they will continue to maintain their goal machine. It is a shame that Barcelona was unable to take advantage of the situation of the Napoli team which was in disarray due to the process of changing coaches. With this 1-1 result, at Barcelona Headquarters Leg 2 will be a gamble for Xavi troops to gain the upper hand.

This is the funniest comment I have come across concerning this match. These two leagues are incomparable actually but it doesn't matter. A team performance in the domestic league is quite different from UCL. Take a look at Madrid for example, even when they are struggling in their domestic league, they don't joke with UCL. Sincerely speaking, Arsenal played yesterday night as if they had no intention to win. I can't even say whether it is poor tactics or something else. None of them even attempt to create a chance at all. Just simple short passes with zero shot on target. Imagine taking numerous corner kicks without succeeding in even one? It was a very bad performance.

They were lucky it ended with just a 1-0 scoreline. Perhaps, things might turn around just like it happened in the group stage against Lens when they lost 2-1 in the first leg and hammered them 6-0 on the returned leg. It's time for Arterta to restrategize and work things out. I don't really understand why he decided to use 12 players for the whole of 96 minutes when he stills has players on bench. I think it makes more sense when everybody in the team is giving a deserving time in order to have the feeling of the competition.

Arsenal did have a chance to turn things around in the second leg at home when they hosted FC Porto because from the results of their match yesterday it was also very clear that Arsenal were indeed able to control the ball very well even though it was quite difficult to penetrate FC Porto's defense. Rather than a score of 2-1 or 3-2, a score of 1-0 is better for the home team in the 1st leg and is not detrimental for the away team in the 1st leg.
Arsenal's chance to respond in the second leg at the Emirates Stadium to ensure they qualify for the next round is quite big as long as Arsenal are able to play and take advantage of the slightest gap to score a goal.

Porto after getting a 1-0 result in leg 1, they will try not to lose by a goal margin of more than one and try to score a goal at the Emirates later.
For Arsenal, winning by more than 2 goals is a target they must achieve. If Porto in the second leg plays defensively and only uses counter attacks, this will endanger Arsenal.
