I don't think many people expected the top 5 to look like this after 9 rounds, especially since Liverpool started strong and seemed unstoppable after the first few rounds. Funny how quickly things can change.
Do you guys think any of the unexpected top 4 teams (Bournemouth, Tottenham, Sunderland) will hold on to the top 4 throughout the whole season? I think, at best, they might end up like Nottm Forest last year, when they kept in the top 4 for quite a long time, but eventually finished 7th.
For the three teams you mentioned, I doubt they'll be able to maintain their positions until the end of the season, as teams like these typically lose consistency in the second half, especially with injuries. Bournemouth, Tottenham, and Sunderland are quite surprising at the moment, having achieved better positions in the table thanks to the great effort they've put in. But I personally doubt whether they'll be able to maintain their positions until the end of the season, as the competition is getting tougher and other strong teams will definitely try to take that position.

This is not easy to predict, but I think these teams a doing a good job right now and in the Premier League a good start is very important. Sunderland and Bournemouth might fall out of the top four, but I will not be surprise if Tottenham maintain their position and end up in the top four. It's still early in the season, but they are having a good start right now and some of the so called big teams are very poor right now. Let's just keep watching and enjoy the rest of the season as it unfolds.

If Sunderland and Bournemouth don't keep improving, they will lose the top four positions before the end of the season. Some of these conventional top four clubs are just going through a temporary setback. They would soon put their house in order and start their title race vigorously. I also don't trust Tottenham to continue holding the third position, but I might also be wrong.

This season, many big teams have had bad results, while the underdogs have shown their best form. Sunderland and Bournemouth are in their worst position this season, as is Tottenham, who are in third place. However, this is not about the position in the standings, but the results of the disappointing matches. At least from now on, we need to develop a new strategy to win the remaining matches.

Sunderland and Bournemouth will not end up in the top 4 despite their current positions, but it is good they are consistent and winning their matches because it will help them not to battle for relegation when they start losing their matches. Tottenham is a team that has similar behavior to Arsenal, and for Tottenham to end up in the top 4 this season, they need to be consistent in winning their matches because if they lose their next match, there is a chance their position will be taken. The Premier League title is still open for the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea to win it, so let's just keep watching as the battle unfolds.

Arsenal really have an unreal defending this season.  Grin  They have still conceded only 3 goals after 9 games... No problem with their scoring productivity either. I wonder how long they will be able to keep it up.

Their game up next is against Burnley away which is an easy one to win. After that maybe the one against Sunderland away could be challenging. Because they aren't joking at all. They wouldn't be easy to beat even for Arsenal in my opinion.

I think the English premier League is the most view competition in the world if am not mistaking and I presume that the reason for this is because of it's competitive nature just a ton sited, personally I watch the English premier League and the Spanish laliga mostly for sole reasons, the two teams being Bournemouth and Sunderland are where they are in the league position because they went hard on their opponents and was able to get the result but there is one thing i know about the English premier League, those teams might be in that position temporarily, let's just be clear on this let it not be that am just concentrating both teams alone, every other team in whichever position they occupy might be there temporarily, there is no assurance that any team will maintain there present positions for now after all any team can start performing very well tomorrow and we know what that means.

The fact is these teams can't hold on to those positions till finish, I only sense that they are trying everything possible to accumulate enough points so when the normal top four teams will wake up from their sleep they might have gathered enough points that can keep them either in the Europa League or the conference league, the only team I'm seeing that can fight till finish is Manchester United and probably Spurs, but for this other two I don't think they can keep to those positions till the end, and for Liverpool I don't really have anything to say because they such a comedian, at some point at the starting of the league I have already given it up for them saying they're the 2025/2026 English premiere league winner, but here they are doing what I don't really understand.

Premier league is the only major league which has neck to neck battle till the last days to decide the winner as well the ones getting to top 5 places for champions league and Europa league. The current lead of Arsenal this early in the league is surprising and would be a great job to hold the lead to the final days. The favorable thing for Arsenal is the teams in 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions are not exactly their competitor. Another team that is in the run for title is Manchester City which is 6 points behind and their most fierce competitor Liverpool is 7 points behind.
Sunderland has done amazing job winning but I don't think they can keep it till the end. Bournemouth and Tottenham have just played easier teams.

The issue of Sunderland and Bournemouth we know how they are, they give people the impression that they have everything it takes to win not until the season becomes more serious and you see them at the bottom and this is the same thing that you see Brighton doing. Even Tottenham can not be trusted because we know there tricks with given all this kind of impression, you are not wrong at all, and this is not the first time they are doing this so we are familiar with there scheme.

And the way this thing is playing out if arsenal can continue like this they have the chance of winning the premier league this season because in the process of all this drama they are accumulating more point and this is the same trick Liverpool used last season to claim the title. Bournemouth they won't go far but arsenal have all the opportunity now and if they should lose it then they should sack Arteta because they have excellent players that will help them to play better because all there players are in form talk of Eze and the rest even saka is not doing bad at all. So they don't have any excuses this season not to win.

The Premier League title is still open for the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea to win it, so let's just keep watching as the battle unfolds.

both sides have five wins apiece with the Cherries second in the table. Two places back in fourth are high-flying, newly-promoted Sunderland, who pulled off a famous victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last Saturday.

During the opening nine games of this Premier League season, Bournemouth and the Black Cats have disrupted the established top flight order, picking up more points than Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea.

I read your post and all I could recall immediately was Burnley making life difficult for Liverpool until the last minutes of the game when Mo Salah slotted in that spot kick to give them three points. It will be same for Arsenal but they will scale through with a win. If Manchester united can comfortably beat Sunderland, I expect Arsenal with a better squad depth to get the job done with the both half's. It should be no excuse for them. They're so determined to lift a trophy this season. Nobody cares how you win, just make sure you do.

Sunderland and Bournemouth are really incredible so far.  Cheesy  The latter is even at the 2nd position in the standings now which is crazy.

But the crazier thing is Sunderland's form of course. They are newbies here. It has been 8 years since the last time they were at this level.

I read your post and all I could recall immediately was Burnley making life difficult for Liverpool until the last minutes of the game when Mo Salah slotted in that spot kick to give them three points. Arsenal beat Burnley 5-0 away last season and now they are even much stronger so...  Grin

Premier League is very competitive and that is one thing I love about premier League the excitement and the competition is just too much and that is why watching premier League is very interesting for everyone, no team can dominate premier League for years this two club Bournemouth and Sunderland are teams people don't believe will be in that position in this season premier League competition but they are there and if they continue with their form they will remain their till the end of the season however I believe other teams for example Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool May come back to form and take this positions but it is not setting, however we will keep watching and see how things go but I believe or I really don't think this teams can maintain that position for a very long time or till the end of the season the competition in premier League is too much and as a team you need to be very consistent, if these two teams are consistent and playing very well and also improving in their form I believe they will remain their till the end of the season.
I like an underdog story as much as anybody, but I have long enough experience in football to see the difference between what is actually good and a hot hand. Bournemouth and Sunderland are not there because they are outwitting all. They are there since all is going well at the same time

Semenyo completes the Bournemouth goal like Aguero, Sunderland keeper is saving goals that no human being should save, they both have had fairly easy games. That does not make a long term success, mate. It is a formula of a nasty wake up call at Christmas

Remember Hull City in 2008? Leading four in nine games, everybody speaking about Europe... almost got relegated. Same story, different season

City will be back. They always are. The reason they are in a slump is because of that dumb summer tournament. Liverpool has got actual issues to lose Trent, yet these surprise packages? They are existing on borrowed time. I would stake my house that both of them will be mid-table by February. The statistics are not deceptive and at this moment the statistics are shouting regression at hand

The most spectacular team in my opinion is Sunderland. They were only promoted this year and their squad is just average, with no star players, yet Sunderland is able to compete at the top. As for Tottenham, it's not surprising considering their good squad, wealthy club status, and regular presence in the top teams. They were also able to win the Europa League last season.

I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen, maybe they're still one of the clubs that could be troublesome until the end but when it comes to staying in the top 4 it's definitely not easy but they'll be in a good position this season.

There is definitely hope that a small club even a promoted club like Sunderland but become a surprising club even following in the footsteps of fairytail Leicester a few seasons ago but of course things like this are not easy for the current era.

We are still in week 9 where 29 weeks still remain in the season and they are trying to maintain the current condition which is very good but I highly doubt they will survive the remaining 29 weeks because I still have confidence that the clubs in the big six will start to rise in the middle of the season and make the situation the same as in previous seasons where the top 4 belong to them.

To be honest, the image looks funny and still had to prove how competitive the English Premier League is . I cannot imagine that they showed upto the 6 places on the table and yet, there is no sign of Liverpool. This is same Liverpool that started the league on a decent note. Anyways as a Manchester United fan, I am delighted to see Manchester United colour near the top again. This is where Manchester United used to be in the old good days.

I am surprised how Tottenham got to the top, but I know that Bournemouth has been consistent, but I don't know how Tottenham did it. Anyways, Sunderland are not going to be long there and return to the mid table.

Sunderland has one star player Granit Xhaka on a loan from Bayern Leverkusen, and they signed 15 players in the summer to strengthen the team. And I think they make a good signing, because the players have really showed that they will fight for top 10 this season, they have the squad to achieve it. It's too early to decide the top four, but Sunderland good start is a surprise to everyone, as new promoted team, one I'll think they will struggle in the league, but in Premier League there is no average team.  Sunderland beating Chelsea at Stanford bridge was a surprise to me, and if they keep playing as a team, they will end in top 10 at the end of the season.

As for Tottenham and  Bournemouth they won't end at the four this season, I don't see the energy in the team, they could just end in same top 10 with Sunderland and others. My top four is Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester city, Manchester United will end at top 5.

After losing several matches in the league consecutively how do you expect that they'll be in the top six, of course it would make them drop points and other clubs who are claiming their own points instead of losing go up, I can see Manchester United in the top six and I'm surprisingly impressed because they're a club I never expected to get that far.

Well I still believe that the league is still early and most of the clubs that are currently in the top six would drop and the bigger teams would take offer, except they fail to maintain a good form and often lose point then we'll see some smaller teams maintaining their position if they too don't drop points.
