It is easier to gamble when you have extra cash. That way you are not rushing, you're not forcing, and you are not pressured to make money. you just simply enjoy the games available in the casino. Yes, its correct that everyone craves to upgrade their financial status. But generalizing all poor folks as hopeless gamblers is far-fetched. My skepticism springs from the flawed premise that poverty drives a person to gambling or schemes like lotteries, and rich folks are immune to such attractions.

It's a terrible idea to gamble if you do not consider the money expendable or simply "fun" money from your wider financial budget. If you cannot afford to spend the amount you want on gambling, then you put yourself in an extremely desperate situation and out of greed you are more likely to engage in risky behavior that will end up ruining your finances even more. You'll also be more susceptible to putting in "good money after bad", aka chasing losses with some very incorrect notion that the casino / bookmaker somehow owes you a win. They do not and all game plays are calculated independently each time you hit the betting button. The richer you get, the more likely you are to put your money to better use and not gamble.

Well, not every body buying lottery tickets are so broke to the extent of not having extra fund to take care of their health and some other important basics of life, as much as i know, many of those we tend to consider as being poor people might even be more disciplined in terms of gambling than the rich ones, not every poor man who gamblers is majorly after the win or money, many have good businesses they are managing and only trying out their luck on gambling, not like its a do or die affair for them in any way.

The mindset of a person will indeed be different, the rich and the poor certainly have a different mindset too. Those who work hard to build their business from scratch will certainly not be interested enough in gambling because they realize that it will only be a waste of their money if it is not done with full control. Gambling is nothing more than entertainment and if it is used as a game or a place to make money then they are wrong, it will not always make money but there will be a lot of expenses that will be made if you are addicted. I highly agree, not all poor people are into gambling even though many of these poor people buy tickets of lottery to change their fate while some who are hooked to gambling , gamble everyday, many are still trying their best to avoid gambling because in their minds, the possibility of losing their money is larger than winning.  So we really cannot generalized that all poor people are into gambling in order to make their money sufficient.  Same goes with other status, medium and rich people also have their own preference, other gamble while other don't.

There are so many things to do to be entertained actually if that is just what they want. Some people take a dive from 10,000 feet above only to feel the adrenaline. I would believe they want entertainment if they gamble on sports but on card games, it's certainly for money. It's always the money the reason why a person would gamble. Once addicted, he doesn't need much reason already.

And whether they don't have enough or they have enough money to live a life, they bet on sports because they love the sport.

I mean that's the basic gist of it anyway. The poor gamble because they feel like they need to, the rich gamble because they can. Plus as I said in a previous comment I made that certain gambling forms like sweepstakes and lotteries are literal money traps that are made to lure poor unwitting people into playing, they paint the picture of a better life if you win the game and claim the jackpot, but we all know that's far from happening considering the whole system's rigged against the player. Still, since these poor people, most of the time uneducated and desperate to get their big break in life, fall victim to these traps where they constantly spend money, some of them even dedicating a portion of their salary to pay for tickets and shit. Can we do something about it? No, not really.

If I may assume, I do not agree to generalize that poor people feel the need to gamble, I think all factors are affected by the environment. not all poor people like to gamble, only some of them hope to win a victory from their gambling session. in a sense, getting rich in one night. and the only type of gambling that makes someone a millionaire, is lottery gambling. Lots of gamblers hope to get the jackpot from the lottery. even if it has to be percentaged, the probability of winning is very slim. only lucky people once in a lifetime win the jackpot from lottery gambling. but make no mistake, if there are some rich people who also like this type of lottery gambling.

btw, I'm intrigued by one point you said, "the whole system is rigged" I don't know how you knew that was the case. for an illegal casino, it is highly likely that cheating could occur. but for reputable casinos, which have a credible reputation. less likely, if they commit fraud. logically, they don't want the reputation that they have pioneered to be destroyed immediately because the casino is suspected of cheating.

For the rich, yes it is true they gamble because they can afford it. yet it makes no difference to the casual gambler and even the poor gambler, that they are potentially addicted. the difference is, they have a source of funds even though some of them have gone bankrupt because of their gambling. it could also be, they are just gambling for fun, after going through a series of busyness in their business.

This situation is usually rampant with the low income earners who don't have better monthly salary but want to find another source of income. Gambling is not another source of income , you can't calculate the ROI with gambling for it to favour you. ROI will always favour casino owner.

Secondly, yes - I must say the percentage of the average poor people is much more than that of the rich ... Yeah, for the actual fact that poor people are really keen of enriching themselves thus, Thier motives are different.
There's no how that would be graded on a perfect scale of equality.... But sometimes too, the rich makes speculations with huge potential wins,..and ofcourse that infers huge stakes too.. so why would anyone stake that high without an EXPECTATIONS at the end??

There's no precise or accurate numbers on this one because there's no such thing about tallying on whose people that are rich or middle class or poor who had been playing and there's no way on knowing that but

somewhat we could be able to tell basing up on how they do bet up because rich people are the ones who would really be having those enormous wagering counts compared to those typical average gamblers who do really bet out a few bucks on their gambling activity. Speaking about the reason on why people gamble? It would be a personal thing but it would be coming on different variations on which it would really be just that
common that they would really be neither because of gambling addiction or would be solely just because they do make gambling as a source of income.

This is more logical indeed, I also think that people who do gambling are people who don't have money, to be precise they don't have enough money with them so they want to risk it in gambling to get more profit from practical profit methods even though they realize it's not easy to get profit from gambling because the percentage is very small, we need to take the average, and that's true.

Agree that someone who wins a decent amount of gambling won't even open a business, and usually they go back to gambling to double it again, if that's the reason it's definitely a fallacy.
