Just for fun. I don't know about others, but I considered gambling as a stress reliever. There are many reasons why people gamble, but money tends to be their main motivation. While many of us may think that the only reason to play it is to win huge amounts of money, I disagree.

If you pay close attention, you'll see that less developed nations have more gamblers overall, despite their lack of money. They can't even effort it but they are addicted to it. They just care about money, money, and more money.

Basically gambling is supposed to be for fun but for some persons who have turned it to a money making venture which has in turn taken money from them then it has literally given them but because they are bent on getting the money, most of them do not mind and will keep playing regardless of how much they have lost gambling.

The drive of chasing money for gambling has been one of the reasons most of these people have turned addicts from gambling but if they have played rather for fun maybe they wouldn't have gotten to the point of addiction and as you rightly stated Its mostly common amongst developing countries where the citizens in the bid to make more money will continually indulge in gambling activities with the hope to some day be lucky and win a good amount of money that will transform their lives for the good.

There is truth to that statement. People with no financial literacy and those who have never really tasted the finer things in life think money could grow from trees and so they gamble in hopes of getting the chance to earn a lot of money in a short amount of time. Of course there's also the desperation factor where people who got nothing to depend on, couldn't get a job and couldn't find ways to earn money at least in the legal sense resort to gambling in hopes of earning a quick buck. Probably you still gonna do gambling even though you have or dont have sufficient money since it just gonna depends on how you view gambling, is it a way to make money to make a profit? or something that is just for entertainment in your view. Probably there are some people that are gonna do gambling just for fun since it is a way for them to get entertained if that is just the case you already have sufficient money or probably you have some money and just want to waste probably 100$ something like that just for fun whenever you win or lose. I personally do that I set a limitation on how I gamble probably like 100$ and just for fun win or lose.

The money making part is quite delusional, Im not sure that goes with being poor and suddenly gambling is attractive due to lack of money.   More likely to have no money from spending it on things not especially required or productive so I'll include the very obvious drinking and smoking but buying into games you dont really need would also be where the money goes hence do all three you will spend alot of money not have alot left.

I don't think I would gamble if I didn't have enough money. although I know this sounds very impossible for gambling addicts because they are really addicted to all of this. I just don't gamble excessively, maybe my gambling is mostly just an object of research into how gambling is rather than just seeking wealth. Your last paragraph is accurate, the difference between the rich and poor is money, yet it doesn't change the human behavior in them; greed. Everyone get interested whenever money is discussed, including the filthy rich. So, saying that the rich don't gamble is not accurate, anybody can be a gambler. Like you mentioned in the first paragraph of yours, that the rich may not be seen in offline casinos, but it doesn't mean they don't participate in gambling. They also have a casino for VIP where they spend time and have fun with other like minds. Hence, not everyone gamble due to insufficient amount of money. It's a choice to gamble, and gamblers have personal reasons why they've chosen to participate in gambling. In reality, the rich gamble more than the middle class or even the lower class, and reason is because rich gamblers have the money to feed their desire and at the same time, they are not chassing after any direction so the possibility of getting addicted to gambling is near impossible and for such it lowered they loses since they gamble just for the fun of it.
Majority of the lower class lack that lussery of resources to put up what it requires to stay stable and safe in terms of profits and risks in gambling so their gambling ability is limited in some ways, so for sure the rich gamble more than the average jack.

gambling to some is just means of entertainment and for fun only, but we still have some set of people who sees gambling as mean of earnig money and this are those who come into gambling just to fine means of escaping their financial issues and settling up bills, but in the end, gambling is a high risk thing so they end up alwys getting disappointed and exusted at times.
For me gambling is just for the fun and why i dont gamble every day, i only gamble when i have the chance and most times I rather enjoy watching those playing instead of staking on any of the games.

From your perspectives, I don't think the rich gamble too much because I think they have lots of activities to attend to and when they are les buy they can decide to catch some fun which is necessary for the body. The average or the poor especially those that do not have a job are the ones that are always seen playing bets and looking for way to bet and make money for themselves so that they can take care of their initial bills and needs. The rich are always thinking of how to grow their business since they have tasks to attend to making things much easier for them.

Having sufficient funds isn't a good reason to gambling because I don't want to believe that you were hustling to have sufficient funds to come and gamble or probably gambling is the reason you had accumulated money, I wan to believe there are other things you would want to do with your money as no amount of money is too much enough for you to start wasting probably ,I know you would want to say gambling is entertainment which could mean you are not wasting money but then you are loosing it and in some cases you don't feel happy thereafter.

The gambling motives of the rich and the poor are the same in my opinion but there is a difference in their wining amount expectation. A poor gambler's demand range is naturally small, but a rich person's demand range can be large since the rich person can afford to bet more. But one place where I differentiate between rich and poor gamblers where the poor ahead from the rich, poor gamblers spend  much time on small wins but rich can not. A poor gambler can spend his time betting long enough to win a $200 bet but a rich gambler naturally won't because he has enough money to make any big bets. Rich can refrain from taking part in all bets but most causes that is difficult for poor gamblers.

But middle class people are more attracted to gambling and they aim for easy get rich quick tricks.
