I believe both teams may most likely make it pass the playoffs because both teams aren't weak infact AC Milan is in a much more good form enough to help them get pass this stage and into the next stage where the league will become even more interesting although I to hope they will be facing a more tough team at that stage.

Roma for me still looks like they may have problems getting pass the playoffs because they are really inconsistent, it's very possible they will get to they point and probably draw loose their games but then it's expected of them that all things been equal they win with little or no stress, Roma has done well I'm the Europa so far but in their local league they have been showing some kind of inconsistency although they gradually go up the table but not with very impressive moves. If Roma gets pass the playoffs and happen to meet Leverkusen at the semi finals I'm sure they will be knocked out because they don't lookk like they match such strength and that's why I've never seen them with possible potential of the league title this season.

Personally I don't consider Liverpool team as favorite for Europa League because Premier League title is very difficult to win. They have to compete with Manchester City and Arsenal for the Premier League title. If they lose a point in any match, they will be relegated. They called back Carvalho probably to handle the situation. But since the January transfer market started today, I think they will be looking to strengthen their lackings. Klopp won't be sitting around you know. If they can tackle their lackings and fix their injury list, I don't see them losing the Europa League.

I had a feeling that we might see Brighton in the semifinals, this is their first debuts in the Europa League and they become the 1st in the group B.

I agree with what you said, that the important point is to win the Premier League trophy. more precisely, how does Klopp keep his team on the right track and continue to maintain its ranking on the Domestic League standings. the reason is, competition in January will be even tighter. We do know that if europa league is now having so many strong clubs and they will be playnig soon to determine which clubs that have been qualified for the europa league last of 16. The other teams in the Europa League are strong enough and other teams could do well in this season's Europa League, but Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen are perhaps the most talked about. In fact, Jurgen Kloop has great intentions for his club, in fact he has not given up on building the club performance and continue to try to bring Liverpool to achieve good results.
