They were the better team and a comeback wouldn’t be a surprise to anyone at this stage in football again. Atalanta understood the game better and knew what they were coming for in the second leg and that was why they played a defensive game even after Liverpool was still leading throughout the second leg match. It was a tactical game and it paid them well. Marseille should be a more simpler team for Atalanta to scale through, they looks stronger and better than them. No, not really. When they lost 0-3 at Anfield Road, I was quite sure that it must be over for Liverpool. I know they once made a miracle happen when they turned the game against Barcelona around after losing the first round 0-3 in Barcelona. But playing in Italy against a team like Atalanta when you are 0-3 down (in your home stadium), I think that has never happened in UEFA history. That's why it is a bit mind boggling that you still thought Liverpool should make it to the next round after that devastating loss.

But Liverpool had some trouble here and there. They haven't been as dominant, which is sad as they had a big chance to write history for a last time with Klopp. Now all titles are at risk suddenly.

Even if we take not the random League of Europe (where the motivation of clubs is always in question) but the Champions League, then, if I’m not mistaken, City was the clear favorite in every season over the past 10 years, but they won the title only once.
