According to who though? Yeah Ineos believed in him, but not many fans do. Finishing the season with the worst ever record is not something to be proud of and I think they should be feeling like Erik Tan Hag is the manager that did it, no manager before did this. So, I think we could be honest and say that they do need a rebuild with the squad, but it is also understandable that the manager isn't a good one as well.

I personally believe that he can be given some more chance because even if we consider him bad, the team is just evolving and if you get a new manager, even if someone great, like Ancelotti or Pep or whoever, they will not make this team winners yet.

To be honest, after what happened last season, it is very difficult for us to choose a team that will be able to challenge for the title or champion next season, because like last season we will not be able to avoid surprises that might happen again in the European league, next season in all UEFA competitions will introduce a new format in their competition being played and it is reported that each strong team will fill the pot based on the club coefficient value, thus allowing each big team to meet more quickly in the semi-league phase (previously the group phase) and allowing us to see lots of big teams it will fall  later, to be honest, Manchester United is currently trying to improve the quality of their squad, but if Ten Hag still plays game patterns and strategies like last season, then it will be difficult for Manchester United to compete in the European League and even the English League.
