Also you want to hide gambling activity, because you want to answer questions if kids ask about it? Imho that is not the right thing to do. Either its a lazy move, or strange parenting (if a kids ask for explanation and a parents dont want to explain). You also just offer to hide gambling, because "kids can gamble alone or hide fact that they gamble". That is just a fact, but you dont give any reason to do that. Just add to your post "because gambling is bad" and that would be more clear. Otherwise your sentence or idea isnt finished.
Kids will not know for the truth about bad or good. They just do what they wants and if no adult people guide and watch them, they can doing something that can harm them. We know gambling is something bad IF you don't have control over yourself and other things and I guess you already knows. You can teach your kids about gambling or explain whatever you wants about gambling if you thinks they deserve to know. Maybe your parenting type is like that and I am sure that will different to other parents so you thinks that is normal if you teach your children about gambling.
Maybe you think that is a lazy moves or strange parenting but for other parents thinks that is something that they can do to makes their kids do not knows about gambling in their age. You can hides your gambling activity from your kids to prevents them curious with what you do and for some people, they thinks that is the right thing to do for their kids. Gambling is not for kids so we do not have to introduce gambling to them.
Taking care of children isnt exactly a stroll in the park, but neither is rocket science. Their brains are like small sponges, absorbing all they come across and hear. For something like gambling, then, we cannot just hide our heads in the sand.
Children pick skills from observing the grownups. They will believe that is normal behavior if we are always talking about the huge victory or making bets. For this reason, its crucial to be open with kids about gambling. Describe the risks, the possibilities, the entire shebang. Its about education, not about frightening them.
Consider that we are producing future adults rather than merely children. Furthermore, those adults must be able to make wise selections about everything life presents, not only with gambling. Thus, lets educate them on delayed gratification, on self-control, on the distinctions between necessities and wants. That is the true victory.
