Duration of learning is highly subjective and it is dependent on the following factors;

• Ability of the learner
• Ability of the teacher
• The relationship between the teacher and the learner

In a nutshell, what takes Mr. Boob two weeks to learn might take Mr. John two months to learn depending on the learning style and compression ability. However, it is cool to understand that learning never ends, few weeks can get you going in trading but not enough to become a pro.

Perhaps, he is right. Because what is his goal is to make someone become a pro trader, not just a casual trader. Learning the basis would just take several days but if we are molding someone to become an expert, honestly, even analyzing the charts seems it take a longer time. That is why trading is not for impatient people, not those who want to learn in days, but this is for those who are willing to spend months studying the market, doing research, and are willing to hear feedback and advice.

3- 6 months for learning trading may just the theoretical aspects of it. You cannot learn anything worthwhile in 3-6months although it varies from one person to another person. An average of the number of years it will take for a smart person is one and half years and it is for some one who is laser focused , drink and eat market majority of the time. A decent timeframe for average person is 3 to 5 years.

First of all, you should understand that trading is a very difficult job that will require a lot of time and other qualities from you without which you cannot become successful.

In 1998, I found an ad about FX trading. I was a 1st-year student in international relations, my friend was a 1st-year student in economics. I asked him what he knew about forex. He answered that a trader must learn for 4 years, because a standard market cycle lasts 4 years. If you spend 4 years for learning, you can pass almost everything that may happen.

Of course, my friend was just a 1st-year student. But I still think his answer was wise. For my first years, I did only paper trades. Without doubt, this decision helped me to avoid many losses.

You can learn about price action, chart, indicators within a few days but this will not be sufficient to make you profitable in your trading. Experience is one of the crucial factors that matters most. Someone might have great knowledge about every thing related to trading but have failed to make any profit from the market. If you want to start trading then gain basic knowledge about trading first and start with a small amount. You will gain more knowledge and experience along the way.

That tutor you are talking about seems like a salesman to me. If he is that good at trading then why does he need to teach others and charge money for it? If he is motivated to spread his knowledge to others then why don't he open a YouTube channel and share his experience with others? I try to stay ten steps away from this type of salesman.

It depends on your involvement and how curious you are in learning trading, mostly people learn trading do learn both manually and with YouTube tutorial to perfect the lectures of trading, in a normal circumstances, trading have to do with strategies and step by step, you have to understand the system of trading, so before you become perfect in trading you experienced loses and those loss will make you to pick up correction, so it does not matter how long you learn trading before you can become perfect, what matters in trading is consistent practicing of trading and mistakes involved during your trade, because any mistake that occurs during trading as a trader you have take note of them so that it will not repeat again

The trading part of it comes after one has retained enough knowledge and probably has discussed the issue with an expert trader.
A  trading class might be useful but I can bet that the tutors will dwell on topics just to elongate the classes and have more money. YouTube has made things easy a bit, but if one does not have a guide many of the times, the learning curve will be longer than expected.

Truth to be told i dont think we have a specific time, that we stop learning new things when it comes to tradoing aspects, have been trading since 2017 till date and i can boldly tell you that i still learn things each pass day of my life on the journey.

It's good that you are trying to learn more about trading with a tutor or course. There are many experienced traders out there that are willing to to teach beginners their knowledge. It's hard to give a fixed amount of time that one person needs to become a trader. There are people who have prior knowledge and will pick it up in a few weeks, while others may need several month. It also comes down to how much time you can invest every week. One tip I would give any beginner is to run a demo trading account at the side and not invest a lot of money on these trades directly. Chance based investing is fine if we don't have any idea or don't have the time to make our own research. But I would prefer to buy a larger number of coins than just 1 or 2 per week, the more we spread our money out the lower will be our risk of losing a lot of money. With stocks we could just buy ETFs to diversify our money, in the crypto world we would need to build our own portfolio. The main trading idea is that we still want to hold general crypto market exposure, but not face too much risk by one single crypto coin. When we become more experienced and have more sophisticated trading strategies we can focus more on a single project that will outperform the market. Also the learning process is never going to be over, we can always learn something new and improve our strstegies.
