Need advice on getting merits

Hi guys, I want to ask some tips on getting some merits. I somehow feel jealous when I see other full members having tons of it even if they're just new to the forum. I know that there are some ways to earn it like being active in your local board, engaging in the gambling threads talking about particular sports, create an informational thread, or have some deep knowledge about bitcoin's technical like block size, hash rate, etc. And that's my concern, I am not good with any of those stuffs. I am not a sports enthusiasts nor good in bitcoin technical. Our local board is not that active also compared to others where I see some members' their main merit source.

The best advice you will get is to engage actively and positively on the forum, and you will be rewarded with merit. Just have something real to give to the forum, and you might be lucky enough to earn a merit like the one you earned from your local board a few hours ago.

There is one statement I came across in this forum: "Don't chase merit; make quality posts and allow merit to chase you." Some local boards are also good at helping one another, especially when they see you contributing actively to your local board.
 
My advice: Look for that area where you can be productive and start making organic posts there; genuinely, don't try to outsmart anyone in the name of chasing merit, as that might land you into trouble.

First of all, merits are not that surplus on gambling board because there you have repetition of threads and mega threads where users just go and make spam which will be hidden within few hours in pages of threads so it’s difficult to earn merits constantly at the gambling board.  But the few that still stands out still manages to earn a few merits.

Another thing is that you need knowledge to be able to earn merits, so if you are not good at the technical part of bitcoin which a lot of us are not then just look for other parts that interest you and study more about it,,, you really don’t have to be a genius at bitcoin before you can earn merits just make sure the little you know are not misconceptions and whenever there’s an opportunity for you to share your knowledge make sure you do that to the best you can.

And btw, it seems like the 100 merits you have was airdropped I didn’t really check but if you take you time to go through the forum read old threads and also new ones that are being created, look at how those that re earning high amount of merits do their post and what type of posts get them merits you’ll be able to earn some for yourself.

Heck, a lot of us here aren't even trying so hard. If you truly know a lot of about Bitcoin/crypto/security/trading/investing/etc, people with merits will see it and give you merits. It's really that simple. There's no secret sauce here.

I mean there was no guarantee that you were going to get merit even though you did a quality or great post since the merits are given by members, so you dont really need to do anything, to be honest, you just need to continue doing a quality post and go with the flow and dont pressure yourself on getting one, but for sure higher quality has a higher chance of getting merits, so the only thing that you can do is just to increase you post quality something like that.

The best thing to do here just continues your cryptocurrency journey and then you have the forum that could easily help you in any case because we already have a lot of experience members here so they could easily help you, then I best one I think is sharing your experience and knowledge here in the forum, if you learn something you could create a thread here in the forum, the way I see things here in the forum if you share your knowledge and experience here in the forum, most of the time members that do that get more merits in my observation so I think it will work as well if you do that.

Still these wasn't any competition so its always better to chill and dont get pressure by it, if your just active, you going to get merit along the way and rank up for sure.

The 100 merits you're referring to was from early days before the merit system was implemented. Old accounts got a default amount of merit based on their current ranking that time.

Hi Chiwell, this account has never been compromised so far. Regarding your question, I already said above how I get my current number of merits. I created this account way back 2017 and merit system was introduced year later. Things got busy with personal life so I took a years of hiatus in this forum. I just came back lately to see how things are going here.

Anyways the best advice for you is to learn first, learn about things that interests you before you begin to engage in discussions or even think of earning merits. Once you have learned about them it will be easier for you to make meaningful discussions and earn merits along the way.

I totally get where you're coming from, buddy. I've been lurking around the gambling board myself, and it's not exactly a merit goldmine, if you know what I mean. But hey, I understand.

I can't really tell you how to score more merits because, honestly, I'm not raking them in either. What I can suggest, though, is just being true to yourself. Post in topics where you think you can be genuinely helpful, and forget about chasing those merits. I've seen a member here (I won't drop names) who hit Legendary status pretty darn quick because one of the merit sources was impressed with their posts. And I'll give it to them, their posts are valuable.

So, what I'm trying to say is, don't go hunting for merits – just be a stand-up forum member, share your knowledge, and help out where you can. That's the ticket.

If you want to earn merits, then avoid posting a bunch of stuff on Altcoin Boards. Most of the thread posted in that section is quickly buried, and, in most cases, it consists of useless discussions about 'shitcoins' that promise to have great value.

Plus, most of the stuff you can read here can be learned! Just don't expect it to happen overnight  . Consume bitcoin knowledge consistently and you'll do just fine.

That user was a Full member before merit system appeared and received only 1 merit.

You can check with BPIP and knew about that. I quickly had that guess after seeing account creation time is in 2017.

Post history is in altcoin discussion board that is ignored by many users and merit sources barely visit that board. Those posts are one line so you have to guess about those post quality too.

Determine the focus on self-development with good habits regarding the knowledge you have about bitcoin, crypto, trading and other technical things that make it easier for other people to get something useful from us.

OP, there are no special secrets, everything goes as usual with the terms and conditions that have been arranged. Dont push. Activate yourself like flowing water like those who make you jealous when you see the amount of their merit acquisition.

You actually answered yourself in which ways you could get merits for your posts, but the problem is that you admit that you are not good at any of those things, which is actually a problem considering that you are on a forum where, among other things, the most debate is about Bitcoin.

If you look at your statistics when it comes to posts in relation to boards where you post, it is clear that more than 50% of your posts are in Altcoins, Politics&Society or Off-topic, with the addition that you yourself admit that you have not been very active on the forum in recent years.

If you want some change, then you have to change yourself - and that means that you should start visiting the forum a lot more and reading the posts of other members, and with time you will certainly learn something, so you will be able to participate in discussions.

Your username reminded me of a popular ransomware that destroyed many people's systems. Back to the topic, it's not true that you can get tons of merits from gambling threads. Gambling boards are the haven of spammers and merit sources rarely visit those boards. No matter how constructive your post is, it will be buried in a lot of spam.

If you have good writing skills, try to be active in the beginner and help section, technical discussion, project development, meta, and reputation. Even if you do not earn a lot of merits, you will learn many things from these boards which will help you to earn merits in the future.

Yes you might be seeing a total of 101 merits but OP has only earned a single merit since the merit option was implemented the remaining merits were just airdrop which was at then base on activity. When you check Bpip.org site you will see the difference there, some of the accounts that received airdrop merits will have a higher total merits than earned.



OP there is no secret to earning merits other than contributing valuable to the forum either creating threads or through replies. This is done by you having the required knowledge about the forum, bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Another way I will suggest is to read through the post history of high ranking but prominent ones you would learn how to my post and also get knowledge from them

Well now you are back, it's nice that you raised such a thread of which most members have given you advice on how to go about growing your account. If you really want to earn more merits and grow your Account here on Bitcointalk then you have to be active on some boards where there's possibility to earn merits. Merits often take time to accumulate. Don't be discouraged if you don't see immediate results. Keep contributing positively, and recognition may come over time.you just have to remember that the most important aspect is to genuinely contribute to the community and enjoy your interactions with others. Over time, your efforts are likely to be noticed and rewarded with merits.

True, being knowledgeable and helpful will make it much easier to earn merit, but what some members (usually new ones) don't understand is that even asking the right question and being genuinly interested in Bitcoin can also bring you a lot of merits.
Since they don't realize that, they rather copy/paste and do other similar shenaningans in order to appear more knowldgeable than they are and we know how that usuallty ends up.


@WannaCry  for start, get out of altcoin board as that's bascially a cespool that merit sources rarely visit and you can be the most knowledgeable guy there and it will still be very hard to get the merit.

Sometimes its not all about posting but rather what you do to earn that since there are so many forum members go to the threads where reputable members give merits on certain task asked for example here.

Sorry about your experience but in your post you answered yourself because you mentioned the tips that can earn you merits. It's unbelievable to say you don't have idea or good in any of these board you mentioned. God has been fair enough to give us the brain to discover our talent. You are just yet to discover the area you are good in perhaps due to your inconsistent stay in the forum. You can read and write and your English is not that bad so, what you need now is to choose the area that best suit your interest and focus on improving yourself in that area by reading other's post in that board and expose yourself to offline research as well. Trust me by doing this, in no time you'll become expert in the area you choose to focus on.

Stop thinking about earning merits at this time and improve on yourself first, merit will come chasing you when it's right time. Too much emphasis on earning merits will make you become desperate and end up doing things that may lead your account to be ban. It's all about active contribution in the forum and nothing more. When you are known for giving out useful ideas, people will be interested in reading your post and your merits journey will surely begin.

A full member is not a newbie. A full member has to spend at least four months in this forum to get the rank. So, you should know how these things work. Just don't act like you don't know anything about it.

The thing is that, out of those three accounts that share the same common wallet address, one of them was actually banned at some point: ChannaJay. Now unless there is a plausible reason for these three accounts to be using a common address, whilst claiming to be distinct people under some pretence, the non-banned accounts would be ban evading and should follow the same path as ChannaJay. Merits is probably rather secondary at this point ...

Even my local board is not very active because there only a few active members in my local board and so I know how you must be feeling.
But trust me, it isn't about the merits but what you get from the forum and what you give it back. Keep reading  across all boards throughout the forum.
That way you will keep getting more knowledge and then keep helping others in whatever way you can and that way you will contribute to the forum.
Just doing these I am sure you will be able to get enough reputation and knowledge that you won't even think about merits ever again. Cheers!

Merits will come automatically. Well, not automatically, but there are many merit threads out there. The Sceptical Chymist also offers post reviews to those users (thanks to him again ).

Merits are everywhere. You don't need to focus on it. We are in the same local board base on your posts, and I agree with what you said that there aren't that much active users out there, so I guess since I just got my Legendary rank a few days ago, I will put most of my merits on my local board. Of course I'll pick those constructive, and that of with quality . Gambling threads aren't getting that much merits IMO. I don't know if it's just me, but most of the posts that I'm seeing on gambling section are mostly one-liners, and kind of redundant as well.

As for technical aspect of Bitcoin, I already said it multiple times that I'm not a techy guy, and I don't know anything about the technical side of it. Maybe I know some terminologies, and I know the basics, but that's all. You don't need to know the technical side of Bitcoin to earn merits. Sure, it can make you earning merits way faster, but that doesn't mean that it's the only way to earn it.

I already shared my advice. Don't focus on it. Focus on the things that you know. Learn more, and share it here. Be constructive with your posts. If you need to learn how to be good at English then do it. I mean that's what I did in the past. It took me a long time to earn the Legendary rank, but it's all worth it. Can I ask you OP on why you are asking this type of question? Most of the answers that I'm hearing as to why they're asking this is because they want to increase their rank thus, they increase their earnings in campaigns.

P.S. Ohhh men. I wasted a few minutes of my life typing, and sharing things to you, and I saw that you have alt accounts, so I guess that answers my question then. You are asking this because you want to earn more.

I checked your post history, and you are mostly active in the alternative cryptocurrency section, and in my opinion, you are also a bounty hunter and your local board is Pilipinas (correct me if I am wrong). Well, I checked the chart made by Rikafip and was amazed to see that you have more active members than our local community and also you guys have shared more posts than us. But when I checked the merit share it is way lesser than our local community. It means, you might not have any merit source in your community or your community members are not gaining any merits outside the community.

For example, many of the seniors of our local board earn merits from other sections and distribute them to the local members to motivate them. And I think this is what your local community is lacking.

But of course, you have to earn merits from other sections even if you want to support yourself or your local community's members. Well, many members have already shared their suggestions but mine is, please get some education and learn the technicalities that people love to hear about. Come up with useful and helpful material that should be unique and helpful for newbies and for legendries as well.

The Op has not earned any merit before, aside from the extra one that was gotten from his local board. During the merit system, maybe a few (s) merits were airdropped to him; I don't know how many, but based on the merit record, the OP has only sent out four merits twice to a user, which I believe can't be his alt. Maybe a lack of merit won't allow his cheating scheme to go that way.

If the OP had earned the 100 merits, he could have been active and observant enough to know how things work and could not have found it difficult to earn extra merits again, but because the merits were airdropped to the OP, he probably doesn't know how to earn some genuine ones.

This is a bad alibi it just means you don't want to improve and you want the easy way, if you want merits you have to brand yourself by learning these things there is no shortcut to this,  these new members you've seen with a lot of merits worked their way and contributed, you cannot be an exception, you already know how to get merits so work on your posting style and habit.

You should join discussions that you have a knowledge with and if you have found something that is worth sharing like news, events and other information then you should share it here or if you want to create a guide, tips that aren't created yet or already existed here in the forum then many will appreciate it and will get the; merited. There are other ways to earn merits like joining a merit thread where you have to post your best post and get merited.

You said well, and the amazing thing is how the OP has reacted to it; he did not get angry at the accusations; instead, he simply said I was busy and had no time to spend on BTT. That's why I came back now while I had some time. And many even said that he is after merits, which he should not do while he has 100+ merits.

I prefer all people to have the same mindset as Learn Bitcoin has, and I have: not kidding, just saying the true fact. Because I have seen people on this forum become more sceptical and point more fingers, like they are the only judges here. I really liked your reply and was not able to stop myself from appreciating it.

We need more members like you who think before making a post. Actually, most of the members are following the same pattern, like if one says something bad about it or raises some question, then the next reader will not think for another second and start to elaborate on or back up those questions that the previous one has raised.

If you really want to earn merit & rank up, you should be determined to learn. One thing you shouldn't run after is merit itself. Just try to be a good poster, make quality content, help those who you can, contribute to this community, & you are good to go.

Then find (or create) a direction in which you are good at one (or more) of these things.

Improve any skills or abilities in yourself (not necessarily directly related to the forum). Having thus accumulated a certain experience and knowledge, one day you will be able to apply it (by giving useful advice or making an informative post) for which you will certainly be rewarded (at least with gratitude, at most with merit).

There are no people on the forum who are nothing at all, but at the same time rose to high ranks. They all had behind them experience and knowledge (from different fields of activity and areas), acquired in life, by sharing which they were noted for their merits. Follow their lead.

Also, be active. No one has ever achieved anything on a forum by being passive (in real life either).

Don’t forget to take a look at this topic, perhaps you will learn something useful from it, because at one time it was created precisely with the hope that it would one day be useful to someone. Maybe for you?

I can not believe you @op, your account has been created since 2017, even if you are the dullest of all, you must have understood bitcoins and it's technicality after 6 years of been a member of this forum. Well I won't assume you bought the account cause you sound like a newbie in your post.

If you think these are the things up need to do yo earn merit, because all this you have mentioned doing them you ate playing a good role in the forum and I expected you to do this things because you already know what to do that will give you the merit you want. The  only thing I can advise you is  for you to be yourself,  just do best for the forum by playing a good role . Always try to know more things about bitcoin,  because if you really check people who earn merit on a constant is because they are giving good knowledge about bitcoins from their discussions.

The best advice you will get is to engage actively and positively on the forum, and you will be rewarded with merit. Just have something real to give to the forum, and you might be lucky enough to earn a merit like the one you earned from your local board a few hours ago.

There is one statement I came across in this forum: "Don't chase merit; make quality posts and allow merit to chase you." Some local boards are also good at helping one another, especially when they see you contributing actively to your local board.
 
My advice: Look for that area where you can be productive and start making organic posts there; genuinely, don't try to outsmart anyone in the name of chasing merit, as that might land you into trouble.

I think you don't need to force yourself to enter a field that you may not have mastered. But of course you have to learn to enter fields that you have never studied before to broaden your insight.

So my advice is that you have to be a pioneer who brings change in your own local board. Namely, be the person who provides the most valuable information there. Be the most active person there. And contribute with the insights you have to help improve the insights of other users on your Local Board.

And currently there are actually many very good global merit sources that provide offers to any local user who feels they have a good post locally but hasn't gotten Merit. One of them is hugeblack. He created a special thread for that, namely ([Merit] Help posts in local boards that did not receive enough merits)
And I think this makes local users enthusiastic about contributing locally again.

And actually it's not just Hugeblack. But other Merit sources also create threads that will also help review posts from Local, even though the thread is not specifically for Local. But in the thread rules it is stated that the thread owner, namely fillippone, will also welcome quality posts from any locale. this is the thread I mean. ([Merit] Share your best posts/threads with Fillippone to be merit assessed)

But focus on helping solve every problem that arises in a discussion by digging deeper and finding solutions after reading lots of references and writing them down. Unconsciously we will increase our own insight. The more we find out about something, the more insight we will gain. and as our insight broadens, every piece of writing we write will definitely be useful for those who need it.

During the merit system, maybe a few (s) merits were airdropped to him; I don't know how many, but based on the merit record, the OP has only sent out four merits twice to a user, which I believe can't be his alt. Maybe a lack of merit won't allow his cheating scheme to go that way.

As far as I know, old members received airdropped merits according to their rank and activity. So, Full members received 100 airdropped merits to get their rank, Sr 250, hero 500, and Legendaries 1000. There are a lot of inactive accounts that have not earned a single merit other than the air-dropped merits. So, when I see high-rank accounts without earning a single or very little amount of merits, I tend to think those are sold accounts. The account changed hands. The account owner does not even know if they have a high-ranked Bitcointalk account because of their previous activity. So, if you see a Legendary member with zero earned merits, it means they did not earn it with their knowledge.

No doubt if you can ask such a question then possibly you gained this rank and merit as a result of the airdropped  merit system years back before now which invariably means you did not put much efforts in growing up here and now you must do that in other to move forward since the system is not as you think it was before. 

Just as the other members here have advised you, you can submit your best posts for review so that merit source can review them and merit them accordingly. The links provided by other members can aid you in submitting your post for review while you wait for your turn.

While waiting for your review, you should be able to engage in meaningful conversations and contributing to the development and growth of the platform as you can. I believe if you are capable of doing such, you could just be rewarded with merits for your input.

How did earn does merits without knowing how to get merits? It is just funny. If you earned those merits without knowing exactly what you did, go back to those topics that the merits were awarded and try to observe what you did correctly there, you should be able to notice something if you can observe well.

I have seen many accounts here asking similar questions and it dawned on me that most of the accounts asking such questions were account airdropped merits years back as a result of their activities then. They never earned a merit by themselves and do not know how and what it takes to do so. Some are bounty hunters with no much knowledge and contributions from their end but we're just lucky to gain those merit.

Is it that the account changed hands or something else because a person at such hieght should not be asking such questions even if it was earned as  a result of merit airdropped because for the number of years you have stayed here you should have the knowledge about how to earn more merit and engaging in activities as well to give you a boost and push up as well.

Those who are replying without reading the whole thread should have a look at this post by FatFork to understand that OP is not as innocent as he may sound and we are basically wasting our time making suggestions to him on how he can earn Merits and grow an account that is basically ban evading since one of his alt accounts has been banned previously and he probably didn't appeal for that since he didn't want to reveal his other accounts and he instead decided to continue using this account thinking that people might not come to know.

@OP, it seems like you have got more serious things to think about before Merits. So it's basically useless for you to learn how you can earn Merits to grow the rank of your account when it will eventually get banned any time soon.

Mr OP this question is not for you, it seem that you are not the owner of this account, if at this level you are still asking how to get merit definitely you didn't build this account yourself, my question is that how did you manage to get to this level for the first time.

You are absolutely right, this account has only been up for a few days before being inactive for a long time. And it turns out OP is a full member but he is completely clueless about how to earn merit. And did he wake up in 2023 but judging by the quality of his posts, it looks like he bought this account from another owner. How can the OP ask such a question if we can't be sure that he is not the owner of this account? When a person becomes a full member he spends enough knowledge to gain merit and then change his rank. But here it looks completely different I think he bought the account from another person and then posting mindless posts on his own how to earn merit. We have seen many accounts change hands that were purchased from other people but are currently given negative feedback from the forum. So we can be sure that this account was purchased by the OP and changed hands due to which he is asking such questions.

I think from my personal experience as one building from scratch, you need to be as organic as possible. All the merits I received came from my best posts/comments. And from my observation of post that have been merited on the forum, they are all quality posts. As long as you have a positive contribution to make, don't hesitate to do so. It would be self explanatory and  able to pass across a message to the readers. Even if your posts are not merited immediately, it would be looked into as time goes on.

Moreover, he last posted on August 9th and was active again on October 8th. He was inactive for 1 month, it completely shows that he is inactive most of the time. He has to study a lot to get talent. And be active in the forum and post quality posts. So good luck to newbies or all.

I agree with everything you explained above that it is very true. So I want to ask, why be confused? In fact, you just need to carry out everything you describe well. As usual, be active in the forum by making posts or arguments that are useful for members of this forum. Because basically you just need to pour all the knowledge you know, be it about bitcoin, gambling, altcoins, or economics, into a post or reply, very well worded. Op don't be jealous of others they all did hard work and the merits are their rewards. I know earning merits is very difficult as I am also a full member but due to hard work and consistency, I get these merits. My tip to you is just to make quality posts, Quality post does not mean lengthy and comprehensive but it means being to the point, concise, giving your own suggestion, and helping others. I think these are a few things that engage other users to merit your post. But honestly do not go after the merits when you are greedy for the merits you will do things in a hurry and that is what I think the newbie leads to make mistakes and get negative from the DT. So show some patience and work consistently and you will be rewarded.

why do you have to be jealous when you see other members getting merit, compared to the posts you make, of course those who get merit have much higher quality posts than you have, I can't find out which country you come from but being active on your local board will be very  help you get merit, my advice is, you have to spread your posts into many sections, the altcoin board gives a little merit because merit sources don't really like posts there, you also have to increase the number of words in each of your posts so that it doesn't seem like spam.

Well there is no magic in the acquisition of merits and all what you need to do is to make quality posts then merits will come you without asking for it. Really I understand your point. Are you on the forum because of merit? If you are here because of merit and you are not working towards getting merit, then you won't be getting it. There is no way you can gain merit if you are not positively contributing to the forum. You don't have to be jealous because of other members getting merit, you have to start working on yourself, and you will also be like members getting tons of merit.

You know before now, I never actually understood the real reason behind all these dormat account with lots of Merit until some few months back when I fully understand that there was a time here in the forum when members actually received air dropped merit that gave them the supposed rank that I see most account having. Like what you said most of these accounts lack the knowledge on much things here and this is why some of them still stay stuck till this extent.

The best advice you will get is to engage actively and positively on the forum, and you will be rewarded with merit. Just have something real to give to the forum, and you might be lucky enough to earn a merit like the one you earned from your local board a few hours ago.

There is one statement I came across in this forum: "Don't chase merit; make quality posts and allow merit to chase you." Some local boards are also good at helping one another, especially when they see you contributing actively to your local board.
 
My advice: Look for that area where you can be productive and start making organic posts there; genuinely, don't try to outsmart anyone in the name of chasing merit, as that might land you into trouble.

Chasing merit causes some new users to lose their accounts because some of them engage in behaviour that can also result in account loss. Merits are merely rewards for your efforts, and before you can receive rewards for any work, you must first take actions that will enable you to merit them. As such, new users shouldn't begin chasing merits as soon as they join the forum. If you view the forum as some sort of "job" where you complete some basic tasks and get paid, then you will almost certainly be disappointed, and the forum administration will not be sympathetic. If you do make money using the forum, then it will be through innovation and entrepreneurship, not any sort of mindless busywork.

When you start out, you are a Newbie, and you will run into various annoying limits. These limits will be reduced to the point where you shouldn't usually notice them after you have participated in the forum for a few weeks. If you are on the forum to talk, then that's all you really need to know about rank. Don't worry about it too much, and you will eventually rank up.

If you want to maximize your rank, then you need to increase two statistics which are listed on your profile:

• Activity, which is maximized by posting once per day on average. Posting more than that is useless in raising your activity.
• Merit, which is gained by making good posts.

If you make ten thousand posts in a week, your activity will be capped and you will still be a Newbie. If you make ten thousand useless posts over any period of time, you will gain zero merit and you will still be a Newbie. You can rank up only by making good posts consistently. Ways to get merits are not that hard; all you need is to be active here and share meaningful content with forum members, and your posts will be appreciated by those you see with many merits. Those you see with many merits also do the same thing, there is nothing much to say again. However, if your local board is not active like other boards, it is not a big deal. We have many boards here where you can go and post meaningful contents, and your effort will be appreciated by others. It is not compulsory to create sport threads or technical boards. We have many boards where you can choose and specialise yourself with the discussions that are taking place there, and you will find it easy and start getting what you want. It is not compulsory, you must know that every discussion taking place on all boards has its own section in which they like posting, so you can also look for a way around to choose a board and specialize  yourself.

I do recommend that creating various topics on your local boards is a great way to start your merit journey.

Since you have mentioned that your local board is not active, that is the perfect opportunity for you to introduce certain topics that can potentially make it active again. In fact, this can be a great advantage to you so that you could earn dozens of merits on the process after you shared various topics.

At the end of the day, focus on contribution rather than reward. Merits would come and go and this would be your second priority once you have discovered a way to contribute to the forum as a whole.

while I'm pretty sure the accounts are operated by different people, that's just a guess. there is still no strong evidence. because the account is still making posts on the same local forum, there is little activity that is different from before. where the account previously appeared to be very active on altcoin boards, and now the account has changed its posting habits.

They don't actually need a backer since the only thing they need is knowledge about what they are engaging since if there post is really helpful to the community for sure they can get a merits coming from people who think that their post is very helpful or informative to them.

Also don't forget that sharing your merit to many people will result good to you since they also remember that you give merit to them and they return the favor to. So remember that the more you give the more you receive so we should not let our merit got stuck since its meant for sharing.

You should always post according to the questions asked and you should always impress other people with your answers i.e. good posts and better posts are always taken note of. You can also pay some users the amount they require some time, for example, if a user needs 10$ in Tron and he says it will give you back in USDT, then you should make a post about it with the transaction hash, and also that should be look whether it is some real user or if a person is scamming. So, in this way, you should always be aware of scams. Another way of earning merit is to write from yourself, don't try to copy or change paraphrase, etc., in this way your account may be banned and you will be not allowed to post again. Taking care of these factors your post should be genuine.

The gambling section is one of the least merited boards. People who post in the gambling section are not after merit but to get entertained and complete their signature quota. Nobody was born with the knowledge of bitcoin.  Every member you see discussing bitcoin in all sections if the forum took time to read and understand the Bitcoin space. I am sure you can learn many things that can make you make helpful contributions. Learning about some aspects of bitcoin might be challenging but is is not impossible. If you can pay close attention to threads and do research, you might make post that will attract merits.

Learning and mastering the rules of the forum can also be an added advantage in your determination to advance in the forum. This can help you to guide newbies and make contributions in some boards. You can also help to keep the forum clean by busting spammers, scammers and cheaters. Some members also earn merits by taking part in various contests in the forum.

But if you want to excel in the forum, the best path will be to keep learning about Bitcoin and contribute positively  to the forum

Sometimes its hard its frustrating for other for not getting those merits but if they just post something have sense to read then provably they will get that since there are people actively giving merits to the post they like to read.

Also they also need to participate on several forum events since to many people give them some merits for appreciation of their task done for said threads. There are also generous members posting to give merits to review their quality post so they should follow the rules set by these user so that they will be notice and review if they are eligible to receive the merits coming from those guys.

As long as the posts and threads you create meet the requirements for quality, constructive and informative posts, the sMerit owners will reward your posts with Merit Prizes.

I'm hoping that this system will increase post quality by:
 - Forcing people to post high-quality stuff in order to rank up. If you just post garbage, you will never get even 1 merit point, and you will therefore never be able to put links in your signature, etc.
 - Highlighting good posts with the "Merited by" line.

While we will not be directly moderating this, I encourage people to give merit to posts that are objectively high-quality, not just posts that you agree with.

Try reading the quote theymos wrote above, Merit should be given to quality posts and threads written by a member. Other members (who have sMerit) will assess the quality of a post based on their respective points of view. Although it is often found that there are still people who give sMerit outside of the context above, basically giving sMerit is absolutely the choice of the smerit owner.

One way you can get merit from other members is just by making quality posts and threads. But if the posts and threads that you make, no one appreciates them with merit, Don't give up easily and give up, you have to keep trying or in other words you have to introspect yourself and find a solution to why Merit is still hard to get.

Merit requirements are probable required by campaign managers that care about curbing spam on the forum and getting to choose from a pool of candidates that are more likely to be decent enough posters. Not that merits equate being a good poster on a 1:1 basis (nor the lack of them necessarily for that matter), but from a broader perspective, one is more likely to find better candidates in a pool of people that earn merits on a certain basis than else.

You’ll probably find merit requirements in some of the best campaigns on the forum, that pay in bitcoin and are managed by people who know the forum’s ins and outs well, than any other random campaign that pays in their own token (if and when) and that often care for exposure but nothing else.

You don't have to feel jealous of other full members of the forum just because they joined recently. I'm not sure how you feel about that. You don't need to ask for tips on how to follow or earn merit because I can see that you are not a new member of the forum. You can continue to contribute as you have in the past, which will help you earn more merit. You don't have to find it difficult if you aren't skilled at bitcoin or sports; nobody is truly perfect at these things. Simply put, you should do your best to learn everything you can about bitcoin and to keep contributing in the forum. If you are knowledgeable about bitcoin and you start contributing, merit will find you without you having to ask people how to earn merit; your quality posts and contributions are sufficient to accomplish that for you. It won't help you to keep waiting to learn about bitcoin; just remind yourself that you will eventually learn more than you can possibly imagine.

Some of those places you mentioned are where you drop your contributions, try as much as you can to flow with the topics, as in being in line with what's been said. You mustn't be a guru before you can be able to get the right post on sports and other board, we're all here to learn so you take it nice and slow with time you'd get it right, just keep making research on which ever topics or threads you find yourself.
To top it all, I'd advise you to discard that thinking of getting merit and keep doing things the way you have been doing if not you'd lose focus.
Quality post will get you what you want but if you keep making it number one priority (getting merit) that's where desperation comes in and you know how desperate people behave, so just keep making post that would draw attention, with time you'd get the merit without you knowing how or when it may arrive.

Their is no other ways of earning merit in this community except that you are engaged in the activities of the forum, so for some people to earn a higher merit than others is as result of their composition in writing is well understood and its very formative in comprehension, so people engaged into discussion with out looking having a basic knowledge of what the discussion is all about, so therefore I believe that merit earning is been determined by the quality of your post and your research about what is very innovative and also worthy for emulation.

Sadly, you've just one created topic to your credit. From my observation, merit is easily awarded to created topics more than regular comments. This may also be going against you.

There is no need to be jelouse about new members merits. Its always difficult sometimes for you as a beginner to know the difference between shitpost and quality post. Although it's always difficult in the beginning. But when you are grinded to this forum by understanding everything that is going on, you will definitely know how to grow.

Let me me use myself as a case study. When I started I thought just making post in each thread by commenting will earn merit but all to no avail. I even decived to quit. Thinking what I will post to grow. So started reading people's comment that reacieved merits, I discovered that they were interacting on a serious discussion. So I started study at night. I can use 6 house to read and understand what dey are doing otherwise you'll just be here making post with no merits.

And mean while don't always have it in mind that you must get merit in each we quality post. Just continue posting quality and you will receive merits when you don't expect.

One thing that I have come to realize is that, most times, the post that we make and the contribution that we have offered in the form of providing help, answers, and any other form of problem that we might have helped a member solve or the forum in general might not even earn that merit, which he was convinced in his mind that he was going to earn by making that post.

Sometimes the merit comes when we least expect it, and most times it comes as one expected it, but always trying to make a post just to earn merit is what usually leads many people to plagiarism and using other tools in order to make their post stand out, which also don't help but rather lands them into trouble.
 
The best way is just to do what you can and remove the mindset that earning merit is hard in the forum or having the feeling that newbies are not being given merit, as such a mindset can discourage someone from trying harder. Yes, forget about coming online to get merit, is something that comes without you knowing, I'll say it again. Make sure you put enough effort on whatever post you're making and your contributions too should be in line. To me ones you're going about business the right way things will definitely work out for you.
You know if merit are being gifted just like that, without doing anything to deserve it, nobody would be here or trying to learn, share important information and here won't be that serious as it is now. So I'd say keep doing the best you can, with time you'd get your first reward.

You can apply for Hugeblack, merit help for local boards, Fillipone, thread on sharing your best 5 posts for merit and  when you need 15 merits to your next rank, Ratimov, helps with the needed merit. And they're all on this particular board, you can take advantage of these opportunities to increase your merits, that is if you're not already doing so. I'm a beneficiary of this merit help, just like like many other members in this forum.

It's important that you're active in the forum and try as much as possible to make quality posts, because I believe that for someone to merit your post here, you'll have to convince them with a quality post that is relevant to the topic of discussion.

Knowledgeable posts must be made to qualify. Moreover, since you are a full member, you must have acquired good knowledge about this and posted like people for which you have come up. For a new person to qualify, he must first make his posts look human and post various information about Bitcoin. Moreover, to gain merit one has to go to different places and give good advice to people which is beneficial and encouraging to all. We're on the same page brother, I know the OP is a full member not a newbie, I can see that quite alright. What I said was channelled to newbies, that instead of rushing into getting merit or using those links, is best for the newbies to first of all go through things on the Forum before thinking of going for rank up or getting Merit from those mentioned links above. Speaking about how quality the OP's post are before going for those merit help, he already knows how much more he needs to put up to get his post to be up to standard and nobody need to tell the OP that, same goes to all newbies or new members.

I am telling you what I believe and what I adhere to when it comes to earning merit. The main purpose of coming to this forum or staying in the forum is not to gain merit, but the purpose of staying in the forum is to know the unknown things from the forum and to inform the members of this forum about the things that I know. When we share our own opinions in this forum and when the information shared by me is useful to another member or when another member learns something new, he can give merit to your post if he wants. Now if you are thinking that I have to post only to gain merit then I will tell you that by posting for this purpose you will neither know anything nor inform others. So think about how to post quality without chasing merit. When the quality of the post is standard and when the post is informative then you don't have to worry about the merit and you will see that you are getting more merit than expected.

Your suggestions can also help increase motivation for members who find it difficult to get merit. Reading all the embedded threads, especially those related to the rank up guide, can help increase motivation to abandon their old habits by turning over a new leaf to become a member who can produce quality posters.
The merit system is not moderated directly by the forum, each member is free to send merit to quality posts, not to posts they like. Merit is not something that is difficult to obtain, as long as you are able to produce quality posts, seniors will help them by spending merit on their posts.

An interesting exercise to do is to go through all the threads under the "open" section of the above quoted topic, and see how many are still active … none. Most users that run those threads either are no longer active on the forum, or have locked or abandoned those topics.

There are a couple of threads that are way more recent than those listed in a 2018 recompilation, and that are still active on the forum, but I’ll let others search around for them if that is their need.

Merit must be earned to increase one's rank and to earn that merit a user must create good quality posts. If the user creates good quality posts and his posts are very informative and other members learn something new by reading his posts then he deserves merit. You may post to the forum but not all posts will be considered eligible for merit. If you think your contribution is to gain merit then you can't make your post very informative but when your aim is to post good quality and informative post in this forum then you can post good quality. If the post is of good quality then surely you can earn merit. The first focus you should have is that you must post good quality.

Op you can also earn merit if you post properly quality and informative. I would like to give some advice like you should never chase merit because later you may get into trouble. If you can post good and high quality posts, merit will chase you.

Maybe younger than you, you don't regret seeing them earn merit, they are wiser than you. That's why merit is getting gifts. If you post correct and advanced, quality posts like them, then you can get merit like them. The more education you gain from this forum, the more knowledge you gain.

Most time it isn't that easy for newbies to make quality post. This is why they have to learn from others with high rank. There is different between having a good topic and developing it well.  What I do most time is to save any user I see that it's activity and gotten merits are closed or a user that rank up within few months. I will try to check most of such users post to learn and also develop myself to write good post. These have in many ways helped me to the level I am on the forum presently.

Merit requirements are probable required by campaign managers that care about curbing spam on the forum and getting to choose from a pool of candidates that are more likely to be decent enough posters. Not that merits equate being a good poster on a 1:1 basis (nor the lack of them necessarily for that matter), but from a broader perspective, one is more likely to find better candidates in a pool of people that earn merits on a certain basis than else.

You’ll probably find merit requirements in some of the best campaigns on the forum, that pay in bitcoin and are managed by people who know the forum’s ins and outs well, than any other random campaign that pays in their own token (if and when) and that often care for exposure but nothing else.

By improving your poster quality and earning merit, you can also move up the ranks and take part in different activities with distinction.

One thing you need to understand about the merit system implemented in forums, merit flows automatically in quality posts, there is nothing that can prevent merit from flowing in quality posts that you produce because this system is not moderated directly by the forum. Choosing the right topic/post content such as containing information and knowledge for other members, is one way to improve the quality of the topics/posts you make. You also need to pay attention to the forum rules which strictly prohibit copying and pasting. This prohibition needs to be avoided to keep your account's reputation clean.

Be a quality poster if you want to get merit, I know you will get bored if you stay in the same rank for a long time. You have to rely on yourself to reach a higher rank, merit assistance from other members will always come to quality posters.

The main reason of joining this forum was to gain knowledge in many things that I am getting. The rest of the things you mentioned in your post that you are not an expert in them, so I am also not an expert in them, so that means I will never be able to get merit, but I feel like getting merit once I'm knowledgeable enough. So there is no need for all these things if you are capable and your writing is good. From what I can see, you have been in the forum since 2017 and the last time you login to the forum was 2023 which shows that you are not an active and regular person in the the forum.  You will have to be regular in the forum for you to keep getting merits. If you have been active since when you write this post, it would have been quite okay and people would have seen the need to give you merits. Why do you care for merits? Your account's rank is "Full member" simply by it's age. You only gained 1 merit point since the inception of the merit point system. Well, that on itself says something about the value of your postings.

If you're interested in signature campaigns, I can tell you that your account and forum interaction habits are not interesting for signature campaign managers and those you pay for signature campaigns. You opened this thread, gave one additional reply and are know inactive for more than 200 days. From nothing, comes nothing, simple as that. I didn't dig deeper, why should I.

Merit is in one part an appreciation token given to user's whose contributions add value to forum's content and other users. If you can't add such a value with your posts then I'm sorry, you don't deserve to get merit points.

You're right. Learning should be the focus first. There is no merit if we have zero knowledge. No one wants to grant our post with merits if all the posts aren't valuable and meaningless. We also need to understand how to make a constructive post with appropriate words and correct language rules. This is not something that we can do easily without learning.

I didn't see anything wrong with your question, and based on what I could tell from your post, you seem to have interest to learn. At first, when I read your post, I thought that if a full member would ask a question like this, the account should be suspicious. But after looking through your profile, I discovered that you have been a member of this forum for a years, is just that you haven't been active. Back then, the merit system wasn't as it is now, it was easier for members to earn merit than it is today.
The new merit system rules make it more challenging for newbies to concentrate on their learning here because they know they can't rank up to the desired level without the necessary merit and that creating a quality post is mandatory for receiving merit. This should indicate that producing your best work is an important for ranking up.

The only advice I have for you on how to gain marits is to contribute to the forum positively (meaningful and quality posts). You have already pointed out certain areas where you may get merits, but it is tough to earn merits in the gamble section now.
Avoid forcing yourself to respond to every post if you don't have anything meaningful to say. If you do, you'll end up adding nothing of value to the forum, which won't help you gain merits. So focus on what you know you're good at and avoid becoming frustrated trying to achieve merit instead, let the merits chase you.

I am not a sports enthusiasts nor good in bitcoin technical. Our local board is not that active also compared to others where I see some members' their main merit source.

Is already obvious that before one can earn merits in this forum it depends on your knowledge and contribution and being active in the forum that will make someone to earn merits and grow account, because once you just make a quality post that would what merit once our high rank members go through it and see that you are making sense and they have (Sendable merits) they are going to merit the post.

And secondly following merits source is actually good because they always have s merits,  but for someone to earn merits from them is for you to be always active and always contribute on their thread once you can be able to convince him on his post them you can start earning merits from them.

Hi guys, I want to ask some tips on getting some merits. I somehow feel jealous when I see other full members having tons of it even if they're just new to the forum. I know that there are some ways to earn it like being active in your local board, engaging in the gambling threads talking about particular sports, create an informational thread, or have some deep knowledge about bitcoin's technical like block size, hash rate, etc. And that's my concern, I am not good with any of those stuffs. I am not a sports enthusiasts nor good in bitcoin technical. Our local board is not that active also compared to others where I see some members' their main merit source.

From what I can see, you have been in the forum since 2017 and the last time you login to the forum was 2023 which shows that you are not an active and regular person in the the forum.  You will have to be regular in the forum for you to keep getting merits. If you have been active since when you write this post, it would have been quite okay and people would have seen the need to give you merits. You are not active and you are not in any signature campaign, it could be difficult for you to get merits since you don't write nor try to make good post that would make people find you as a regular and good poster.

I have to agree with you, being active regularly in the forum will help a lot in establishing your knowledge and personal experience in the forum. Hence, one cannot expect to acquire merits if he is not present or does not post most often as the more you engage in the forum, the bigger chances you will improve your potentials as a quality and valuable poster. If you fail to do that, you might also fail in your goal to earn merits knowing the people around may find it hard to acknowledge you if you don’t consistently post in the forum.
