Several members called him out during this time and there was several topics about him in Reputation, but he never replied anything as far as I know.
He was obviously trying to stay under the radar here, while pretending to be angry old owner in russian local board.

Him not arguing anymore was more about realizing that the more he wrote, the worse his situation was as he coulnd't control his emotions, so better stay quiet than dig hole even deeper. At least that's how I see it.

However, I don't think he is gone for good, he probably uses some different account now, maybe someone recognizes his writing style in future.

It would take a shit load of effort for someone like him to stay hidden for longer period of time.

He might have had another account for a while... he bragged about making 3 BTC on the forum but the math doesn't add up, he would have needed 2-3 accounts to do that

Maybe, maybe not, but having multiple accounts is not against the rules
Earning 3 bitcoins in 4 years is/was not impossible task for high ranked members.
He could also earn bitcoin from campaigns, sell it on market top, and buy back again when price drops, that also counts I guess.
I think I remember him saying he was using leverage trading on several exchange.

Personally, I tagged the Symmetrick account when too many questions arose about the account no longer being operated by the original owner/creator but apart from one other red tag it seems as though members have refrained from tagging.

I don't really see the point of adding more tags: if it changed owner, there's a clear warning now for anyone to avoid doing business with Ratimov's new nickname. If he's just grumpy and ignoring all the drama he caused, there's no need for more tags. Any reputation he had is gone.

That is it in a very short sentence. He had a good reputation. Deserved or not, does not matter anymore. But it's gone. Can we all just move on from here at this point?

If people look they will see that that account should not be trusted.

If they don't look they will not see it and no matter what else if they don't look nothing matters since they are not looking.

Yes, it's a bit of circular logic, but if you don't care about checking then that's on that user.

I'd say it's already too late for him to come here or via PM to ask for your forgiveness, he has had his chance for a long time to do that. Such people have to be scarred for everyone to see and we need to stop them before they get the chance to earn even a single sat here. I mean if he had a personal quarrel with GB alone, we could say it's personal, but now it seems that case was not an isolated event. To all DT members, please tag the sh*t out of anyone who'd habitually insults others' parents.

Don't let such transgressions to flourish around here, this should be a clear evidence to cast out such people from this community.

And to all other DTs still supporting him, please exclude him from your trust list, otherwise you'd be in agreement with his behaviour, therefore you'd be considered the enemy of this community. So ~symmetrick.
Once someone insulted my mother, then I insulted his wife/daughter/sister to make it even, and I don't hold any grudges against him, it was a trollish situation and we both moved on, and it was a one time thing. But this one is not and as a community we should not tolerate this.

Note that it's not a standard Autoban: it didn't show up on modlog, and his signature wasn't wiped. I think it's blocked this way:

Lauda is banned in the same way as satoshi, such that it isn't possible to even log into the account anymore.

Ratimov's reputation already being soiled, a start over is the only likely option. He will just create a new profile, hunt for merits like he did before. The good thing is that he already has some good experience. A few thousands of merits shouldn't be hard in some months, and just try to stay out of radar.

With the kind of ego he had. I don't think he is gone for now.

Imho, his recent actions confirms that Ratimov never sold his account (as many suspected he did) as no sane person would pay for an account and then do what he is doing, spending God knows how many hours deleting 10k+ posts.

It depends on what we mean by the word sale. Another person wrote from the account. No one knows whether he sold it or gave it away or gave it to use. But another person wrote from the account. Perhaps there were several people behind the account and they had a conflict.

I know I have brought it up in the past, that knowing why would probably not be a bad thing, but was there ever any internal discussions as why not to show it?

I don't know why the forum doesn't show this kind of information to all users. I think theymos thinks that displaying such information to everyone is unnecessary. That this information is only for the staff. And yes, this issue was not discussed in the moderators section.

Probably the same reason the forum won't display negative feedback in certain discussion boards and to Guest users

Maybe they want users to have an unbiased feel when reading through useful content that was previously posted by an account that has since been banned. When reading some content, as soon as one sees that the poster was banned, there's away one's perception does not remain the same. Similar thing happens when one see the negative feedback.

If that's the case, it makes sense: he'll request to recover his hacked account and the drama/attention continues.

Maybe the kind of ban is similar to what Harizen got?
The account got compromised and started spreading malware, the user was banned, but his signature stayed on as currently seen on his profile.
