Finding the potential altcoin is like looking for a needle in a haystack so we need to have the luck to make money or capital that is enough to shift the market. So all we can do is to go with the trending coin and mostly for short term or else you need to believe a coin that really has potential and is willing to lose the capital because not every potential crypto project ends up profitable.

Some investors like it long-term so they will just pick the most reputable one in the market and then keep it somewhere safe for long-term holding. An asset.
Other investors do like to play with the market because they have the time to do so unlike the first one. So, picking those who move a lot due to hype and trends would be the best choice for them. The strategy here is to never fall in love with one project or coin. You must have a cold heart to sell it if you see profits and just leave it there rotting afterward.
They may not be traders but they are selling whenever they feel like it's enough for them. I've done it once but it takes a lot of effort to monitor the price and social media to see if the trend is still alive or not because one mistake could mean all your investment getting rekt.
In the end, it's your choice. If you do not have the time to follow one coin every day or week then just leave those coins that move a lot due to trend.

I think it is important to focus on the use case and credibility of the team before deciding to invest in any coin/token, and assessing the long term potential. The history of cryptocurrencies vindicates that these factors matter most and eventually act as catalyst for the coin to outperform.

It is true that DOT and ADA didn't perform to the expectation of their investors during the early days of ongoing mini bull run, but for the past one week they have demonstrated substantial growth, with their price doubling what it was one month ago.

Just because you didn't had the opportunity to be early in some of this coins you mentioned of not been profitable doesn't mean others didn't. I remember very well that DOT was sold for $0.29 at the ico price and it did made an all time high of $55 dollar and is trading today around $7.2, that's like 25x from the ICO price and the listing price was even lower which some many people got below $1 and $2, this investment is justified to be okay for people that bought at lower price exception of investors that bought at high price.

Cardano(ADA) was also profitable for may people because during that pump, I know a very good friends that made something good from Ada that they will never forget. I'm not sure you chose the right coins for bull and bear, in fact Ada did pumped more than 25% within the last 24 hours.

Ordi, pepe, floki and other rest of tbe meme coins were developed for fun until people took it seriously and it did pumped and since it's a meme without any quality which Elon Musk established from doge, people don't care or bother to do research and it's frustrating to see people lose money on this coins, it's dangerous to invest in something that is made for fun. No product, no roadmap, nothing to back the project but hype and talk and what do you think will happen after the hype? They will fade and die.

Learn to diversify your portfolio with different altcoins, split your investment into them, either short or long term, you will see a proofit from the and problems like these can be avoided.

I have had several issues concerning trending coin. And I don't think if this coin has a long term value. With my level of understanding about altcoins, I think those which have lasted for long and we'll known by people are good coin to invest in. Trending coin will leed people to invest. After which the price grow a little, and people Will start to sell off continuously until it fall to 0. coming back to it's original price would become a very big problem. Because there is no more investors to buy and hold.

I have simplified it into two aspects as follows:

1. Short term profit: I usually don't go with the trend like NFT or meme but when I am in for some quick profits and I have enough time to actively monitor the market then I go with the trend and as I have previously mentioned I had utilized the risky USTC to get 8x profit. But I never get into these trends or coins which I know that it has no value but pumping just because of bull run if I don't have enough time because it has potential to make you rich or even make your portfolio zero in blink of a second.

2. Long term profit: I invest in these long term projects which don't go crazy and remains stable during bull and bear run but have a active dev team and have potential of sure shot profit at some point of time. I do this on a regular interval along with my monthly investment into Bitcoin.

Conclusion: If we have time and enough experience into algo trading or play smart with SL/TP then we can try following trend provided we can control our sentiments. Else go for long term projects.

I think both of these things are equally good, I just suggest that you take advantage of every incident in the crypto market, if a coin is trending and has the potential to make a profit, why not, but if it's for the long term, I suggest you think about it even more mature, because long-term projects have very big risks, but if you choose coins that have potential such as ETH, Binance, and BTC, I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

That's the weakness of holding a coin that is trending. If we are in the market for the sake of making fast profits then we don't have any problem with long time project.
We need to invest our find in short term projects that can give us fast profits so that we can make as quick profits possible for us. For those that are very interested in long term project that are nit rushing after project to make quick bucks, then we need to invest in projects like Bitcoin and many of the old crypto projects that has a very strong team and community backing.

So many airdrops , staking and other activities active in solona network and the project gains so many attraction of investors, airdrop hunters and stakers. Very remarkable, sol pulled a fast one on everyone who thought the blockchain was dying and could not be revived. This is the reason why the majority of farmers did not qualify for the jito airdrop because only a couple of wallets farmed the airdrop.
The number of users coming into sol has been very high since the Jito announcement.
People always go where the money is and right now sol blockchain is where the money is and so far the blockchain has given high rewards to farmers.

When it comes to altcoin,  then you just have to gamble with it,  because it is hard to speculate what direction the market will go and for most of the alt coins,  their have short term market make up that make them to only thrive for a while and them fade off unlike Bitcoin that have long term perspective altcoin is not like that.

But if you fine any project that have provable long term ecosystem support,  it could be a good investment choice for long term basis,  but anything outside that prove of ecosystem support it should be consider for only short term investment at all time.

When the project has been launched, the trend and height is over the moon and those project seems to do well for that time being. DOT has a bad business model which thats why there aren't many projects in its ecosystem. Their recent update of Dot 2.0 looks promising and that can be game-changing for it though i am not too confident about the project's price due to its token unlock events. ADA is doing somewhat better than DOT but there are better alternatives of ADA so i am not going to put it in my portfolio either. Those meme projects you are talking about we all know those were manipulated by whales. Otherwise there is no reason for them to pump as they don't have any usecase or business model that can make profit for the project.

I think that it is necessary to adhere to one strategy or another depending on the volatility of the market. Sometimes you need to uncover your long-term orders to save your money, and sometimes vice versa. Here it is necessary to approach this task comprehensively.

The current trending right now is the most volatile, high-risk, high-reward altcoins. Which still the meme-coins are still at the top of the list of altcoins that are good for profits if you are really looking.
Another is altcoin that alternative for Ethereum, smart contract altcoins, like layer-1 or layer-2 networks.

As a big believer of long term investing, I always believe that long term is the way to go.
Lesser stress, lesser risk, yes lesser reward but how can you cherish your rewards if you might already have a mental problem thinking which coins might go up in the future in the short to mid term?

I mean long term is for me the safest and the best way to invest into crypto. We already know that the market has this thing called 4-year cycle where all of the coin are pumping up every 4 years. It happened in 2021, and in 2017, and it might happen again in 2025 (we don't know). Relying on trend when you're investing is very stressful, and I can't take that amount of stress just to get a small amount of profit. For me it isn't worth it. Looking at the market every day, analyzing each coin that it's in your radar etc. etc. Overall, mental health would be better than those profits.

I already got profits (impermanent) when I'm into long term investing. Just a wrong decision from me cause my profits to disappear.
