Bitcoin is headed to $100,000 and that's not speculation. OK, maybe it is, but the 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K challenge is real and has been echoing throughout the community for a week now, so I thought I would make a thread here for those of us who want to try and hold ourselves accountable.

The first video that comes up when you do a quick search for this is Jae from Proof of Work Fitness, so I'll give him credit for kicking off this trend until someone corrects me with better information.  You can see his video about it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPrsA7gBc3U

I myself started this challenge on 2/2/24 and hope to inspire other Bitcoiners to take this step to help build some muscle in the community.

Here's a video showing you what happens to your body after doing 100 push-ups a day for a month and gives some tips on proper form: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=euPXf2hqU3s

My only real tips would be to not worry about trying to do 100 push-ups at once.  Break them down into as small of sets as you need to keep from hurting yourself.

If 100 a day is too much, maybe try to start with whatever "K" the Bitcoin price is at and work your way up to 100 along with Bitcoin.  Smiley

Who's in?!?!?

Want to be included on the spreadsheet tracking everyone's push-ups?  Below is the format to post your progress in order to be added to the spreadsheet.
Example: 100k,OgNasty,69,6900,2024-04-20

[Format(notice no spaces): "100k,UserName,DaysDoingPushups,TotalPushupsDone,yyyy-mm-dd"
This would be the first 3 posts of a new participant named Pushupper who completed 20 pushups on day 1, 30 pushups on day 2, and 30 pushups again on day 3.

Day 1 post include = "100k,Pushupper,1,20,2024-03-15"
Day 2 post include = "100k,Pushupper,2,50,2024-03-16"
Day 3 post include = "100k,Pushupper,3,80,2024-03-17"]

The quotes won't matter to the script and might help emphasize the no spaces rule?

This may seem related to bitcoin speculation but it is not bitcoin speculation at all. We are not speculation on bitcoin price but to know if someone can know if he or she can go up to 100 push ups before bitcoin hit six digits. This belongs to off-topic.

I'm still a newbie and I'm getting a stash according to my capacity right now and I will love this speculation to emerge, I want it not just a speculation no more but reality.

Well for the 100 pushups per day, I will go into it fully because I'm still very young and I have always wanted some thing encouraging to boost my exercise but with this challenge I'm probably going to achieve both Bitcoin and a health body. And the ideal of breaking it down can help me achieve it, maybe I will be hitting 33 in the morning, 33 in the afternoon and 34 in the evening so I'm good to go.

But OgNasty, how will you know if one is completely doing the challenge here? I'm starting from tomorrow but how do you know I'm keeping up with your challenge.

I don't care if people keep up with the challenge or not.  I only care about letting them know it's going on so that they too can become stronger individuals.  If you want to fake that you are participating, I'm fine with that.  You are only depriving yourself and with faking it maybe you'll inspire someone else in the process, so I still see it as a positive.

Life is too short to be a Karen on the internet.  Do some push-ups instead.

At least it's about real Bitcoin and not crypto-crapto altcoins. They're what belong in off-topic.

Yeah, it's about personal life so whether one fakes it or not it's really no big deal. For me I'm in to the challenge because I already had intention of building my body so this is just one big opportunity.

It's a win- win process. If I participate I win.

This sounds another reason for me to do some daily push-ups, but even though I am interested, I can't promise that I can stay true to it until the end. But perhaps I will try, perhaps. Might be able to finally start in a day, week, month, etc from now. Lol. 100 is not an easy number also. But I can do 43 for now and keep doing it according to Bitcoin's price until it reaches 100. I think this is the easiest way for me. Let those who are fit and disciplined take the challenge though.

Who's in?!?!?
Am in only that my pot-belly won't let me all in  Grin  but walking for a hundred steps each morning isn't bad either.

something I admire about the challenge is that it's promotes a healthy well being in the context of health is wealth in the journey to financial freedom, more like saying BTC is health.

In my perspective of this trending challenge it is just to keep the momentum alive about the speculations of bitcoin price possibly hitting a $100k+ anytime this year or by 2025. I am optimistic that this is possible as the signs are getting more stronger than ever before we got to this stage.

I will be a little twisty here, but first, I have the belief that Bitcoin will hit $100,000 late this year or early next year and I will not shy from boldly saying it ever.

But instead of doing the 100 push-ups a day when the coin has not reached $100,000 yet, I prefer to limit it to what it has achieved already and review it upwards and downwards depending on its further behaviours to reflect the prevailing market price. With this, I can only encourage myself to do daily every divisible by $1000 that Bitcoin achieve. For instance, if the price of Bitcoin is $43,000, I would do 43 push-ups on that day. As you can see, it will tally the $100,000 with 100 push-ups on the day it eventually hits the level, and this will also reflect the gist and fun in the OP more practicably.

This must also go with my palms on the ground and not the knuckles, that's what I'm used to.

Too old for 100 pushups a day but I will plank for more than 100 seconds every day starting today.

Planking is no joke. I think I’d be more sore planking for 100 seconds than doing 100 push-ups. That always put such a strain on my shoulders. I probably don’t do them right.

I hit 500 total as of yesterday. About to get going on today’s with a little bit of a late start. Glad to see so many others taking notice and joining in with their own activities. How long I remember to keep this up, we will see.

Too old for 100 pushups a day but I will plank for more than 100 seconds every day starting today.

It's the effort that counts, I guess Cheesy

Planking is no joke. I think I’d be more sore planking for 100 seconds than doing 100 push-ups. That always put such a strain on my shoulders. I probably don’t do them right.

It depends on how you do them. If I did 100 all at once, with less than a minute break between rounds, like 25/1 min/25/1 min I'd be tired, but if I did something like 50 in the morning 50 in the evening, I guess I could do it and feel pretty good.

To be honest, I do some physical work every day at the house, for instance I had to carry bathroom tiles from the car to the upstairs bathroom today and I doubt I'd be able to copnsistently do 100 pushups every day for a year.

The only way this could work is if bitcoin came to the rescue and reached 100k next month.

Well., i do give it a shot and its not really that a bad idea to have. While you are waiting for 100k Bitcoins price (which is inevitable) then  you could really make your body stay fit
on which i could say that its a good idea for me to start on which it is really just that the right time for me to do some exercise considering that i've been mostly be sitting in front of my
PC since i was involved in cryptocurrency on which i do make out trades and other crypto jobs on which i have just ignored out even the basic exercise.

Thanks Ogs! I will try this one and of course it would be impossible on getting that 100 push ups on the first day. Breaking it and making some gradual
increase as day passing would be the sweet spot.  Smiley

I have done this before, the secret here as you have said is to break it down like this,

10 pushup x 10 times.

So what I did is that I will time it out, like

7:00 am upon waking up, do 10 pushups, then maybe next at
10:00 another 10..

and so on until you make 10 per day = 100. Of course you will feel pain and that's what we call Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS), but as you get used to it and become stronger, then it will be easy and make you need to target more, like 150 pushup.

I've been mostly doing 5 sets of 20, but have gone 10 and 30 a few times.  I'm looking forward to the day I can do 100 at once, perhaps by the halving.  We'll see...

I hope everyone is also keeping track of your push-ups (I'm currently at 540 which will be 560 by the time you read this).  It would be cool to list a total number of push-ups done by the community in this thread once we hit $100,000.  Also, don't be ashamed if you can only do 10 a day to start, or even if you have to do modified ones.  Get after it!  I'd love nothing more than to hear about someone who started this challenge doing modified push-ups only to end it with 100 real push-ups a day by the end.

I hit 500 total as of yesterday. About to get going on today’s with a little bit of a late start. Glad to see so many others taking notice and joining in with their own activities. How long I remember to keep this up, we will see.

I did not say 100 straight seconds.

I do 33 second x 3 = 99

one left side
one right side
one two arms.

just did right side 33 seconds
did two arms 34 seconds

I will catch breath and do left side in a bit.

Watching ving rhames and tom cruise in M.I.

100 to start would be tough on most and also press ups are harder for some then others.    I used to do 200 years ago but I considered that alot and I didnt start off with that much.   Anyone skinny has an advantage on this one as you literally have to lift less weight then anyone heavier build.  There is also the consideration women are possibly at a disadvantage also but some equivalence could be put into the idea.
Mostly because Im too lazy but also I've done this much before so I dont feel too guilty but I will say 100k pricing could take years to occur.  You are going to end up looking like Arnold perhaps so its a win/win perhaps but I dont presume 100k this year or even the next so this is maybe 700 days commitment, I will have to wuss out on this one sorry.  Sure I think 100k does happen, timing is the maybe imo.

Yeah I am not my 170 pound Navy weight more like 208 pounds.

Just did the left side plank as M.I. ended part one.

The left side plank is the hardest of the 3 to do.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"

Ok.  You lured me into a response.  I think that $100k this year is more than 50% likely - which makes it bettable... I don't feel really strongly about this, and it is quite amazing to even consider 50/50 odds with such a high number...makes me feel kind of like someone who is overly optimistic, to be suggesting that some kind of an asset has greater than 50% odds to go up right around 2.25x of our current price $44,550 in the next 10.75 months....

So if $100k does not happen this year, then the odds of it happening by 2025 must be a little bit higher than 50%.. so maybe will have to say 55% or more.. surely bettable

At some point I am going to have to work out my odds for this cycle (like I did in my previous post on the topic).... .

Regarding pushups, I started on February 5th..

and so daily I did pushups: 1) 50  2) 70 and 3) 50 so far  = total = 170

I am going to keep my discipline more loose, even though I was able to do more push ups from the start than I thought that I was going to be able to do at the start - but I am experiencing some soreness in my chest.. .. so for some of us there can be some value in pacing these kinds of matters.. to attempt to push ourselves, but without over doing it..

and yeah, nothing wrong with modified push-ups, even though I am going to try to continue to do regular pushups unless I hit some kind of a barrier in this process, and I am not even against the idea that maybe even various other exercises could be decent substitutes for someone who might be adding some kind of an exercise to their schedule rather than doing something that they already do.. and even the person who does a certain number of stairs, might still want to push for some push ups too.. based on stairs being cardio and push ups being resistance training.. yet if you had not really been exercising, it might be better to start with lighter kinds of activities and work your way up and even stairs might seem like resistance training in the beginning of getting used to it..  and also based on trying to stay in the spirit of the idea (not that push ups are exactly a fair standard for some folks.. including the girl disadvantage that was mentioned) - absent some kind of physical limitation..

And, @phil I cannot cannot completely let you off of the hook in regards to the planking thingie-ma-jiggie, because I am not against it.. I looked it up and it is a core strength building exercise, but I think that maybe there could be some pushups thrown into the mix, too.. especially if you are already ready, willing and able to plank for 100 seconds per day... your starting point is not whimpy at all... #justsaying... but your assertion that "can't do push-ups because too elderly" just does not seem to pass a logics test.

I am thinking "dear elderly person" (more elderly than me) that maybe some modified pushups to start, such as 5 or 10 modified pushups for each planking session, and I am not really sure if 100 seconds of planking is very comparable to 100 pushups.. and I would not dispute planking for 100 seconds may well be more difficult than 20 or 30 modified pushups... but if you are able to carry out 100 seconds of planking right now, then I would suggest and cajole that maybe there might be some attempts for uie-pooie to increase your number of seconds (is this coming off as abuse to the elderly?) or to add in some pushups (or modified pushups) into the mix as you build up your strength?  and then maybe you might be able to make it to 92 as you had been suggesting in an earlier post of yours..

Come on old foggie.. ..

yet I don't want you to injure yourself, even though I  cannot let you off so easily, either.. hahahahaha
