So the best way is to let him be. And advice him just once a while and don't pressure him. Some people see gambling as a side hustling and while some see it as a fun and in whatever way, if your friend win huge amount in the process of gambling, I don't know how your advice will look like either to tell him to return back the money, or stop gambling and to work away without cashing out the win.
