I am sure that if an addicted gambler has a desire to get rid of gambling forever, he can achieve this almost without any help from friends or relatives. For this purpose it is necessary to go to a remote monastery, ask to live there for some time offering in return to do all the work that they have. I have heard that many people who change their lives in this way cease to be addicted. And not only from gambling, but also from alcoholism and drug addiction. So everyone has a chance, but for some reason few people decide to do it.

If you are a gambling addict but you know your family is rich then quitting gambling is not easy and that is my friend's situation. Without the help of his family, I don't think he could have quit on his own because he had failed so many times before.

And as I said, you only decide to give up gambling without any help when you have lost everything because of gambling and clearly see the harm it causes you. You don't even have to isolate yourself from people and you can easily quit successfully in just a short time. But if we wait until we lose everything and have nothing left, it will be too late. If a person realizes that his addiction is causing him problems, he is able to overcome it without any help. Your friend used other people's money for gambling, so losses did not bring him problems, and if they did, they were insignificant for him. If he earned the money for which he gambled hard work, he would have realized that the losses bring him problems. Then he would have been motivated to get rid of his gambling addiction. It's very hard to fight something that doesn't cause you tangible problems.

Everyone understands everything perfectly well, but they are afraid to admit defeat and appear weak in front of other people, and some even in front of themselves. In my opinion, they hope to the last that one day they will be able to win back all past losses and stop gambling. Perhaps some of them even succeed. But I do not think that there are a lot of such people. Most get stuck in it for many years.

To fight gambling addiction first you need to accept your defeat, come to terms with it and begin to fight your desire to get rich gambling or return lost money.

There will be some gamblers that will realize that they're addicted into gambling. The problem though is that, they will only realize it when everything's gone for him. Money, properties, family members, everything. Of course, that isn't the case for some because there are some who can feel if they're addicted into it or not. In my case, I felt that I'm getting addicted into gambling already when I felt that I need to recover those losses. It's a good thing that I didn't do it or else, it might ruin my life FOREVER.

Are they brave enough to ask for help? This depends because there are some gamblers who some of their family members know that he's gambling hence, they can just go to them and help them. Not all have somebody to ask for help and there are some who are unfortunately not asking for help until it succumb them gradually. You think that lot of people will refuse addicted gamblers? I don't think so, and I don't think that they're stupid enough to get dragged into gambling by somebody who's having a hard life already.

Gamblers seen as plague? Don't generalize because I don't think that this is the case for most of them. For me, as long as they aren't affecting other people then it's all good for them and they can gamble anytime they want.

You are right and that makes them still playing gambling even if they realizes that can makes them lose much money. That just make them becomes addicted to gambling and that will happen without they realizes because their focus will only make money which can not happen easily.
They need to aware with their losses so they will reduce their gambling activity so prevent more losses. If they know what to do to reduce their losses, they will not playing gambling excessively because they realizes the effect of getting more losses.
Many things to fight gambling addiction and although that is not easy, you must do that and asks for help from people around you so they can give their hand to help you. That will needs a strong will to say that you can do to cure your gambling addiction and will get the second chance to have a better life.

They already realize the total loss from gambling, the OP statement above that they have lost 64 thousand dollars, they also know that they are trapped in a circle of gambling addiction but they cannot free themselves from the addiction because they are determined to recover their losses from gambling, they do not care about other people's advice that provides a way out to avoid gambling addiction. However, they must realize that they have made a big mistake because they lost control of their emotions which resulted in greed for profit or they will try to find opportunities to recover their losses.

I agree with your opinion, he does not have a strong will to recover from gambling addiction and we cannot force anyone without the will in him to follow the advice we suggest, but I am sure he will realize all his mistakes because he did not follow our advice from the beginning so as not to suffer high losses.

The worst thing that can happen to an addicted gambler is to deny help from people around him who are eager and ready to help get rid of his addiction. No matter the level of your intelligence, it's almost impossible to help an addicted gambler overcome his addiction when he's not ready to stop. So my advise to every gambler have always been "avoid anything that'll lead to addiction". However, when a gambler fails to discipline himself and becomes addicted, the first measure to use and help him overcome his addiction is to convince him to accept his fate that being addicted is not good before taking further actions to help him. If you fail to use that procedure and go straight to engaging him to stop gambling, you'll end up not achieving anything at the end of the day

if you live in an environment where the majority of them are not gamblers or are anti-gambling. it must be felt by gambling addicts. gambling addicts may not initially realize that they have done something wrong in their gambling activities that has changed. those who initially limited their activities on weekends to play, it could become a gambling activity that is done every day.
gambling addicts will experience many problems. ranging from losing financial strength to the social impact of the environment. those who are addicted to gambling make their own choices that may harm others. no gambler wants to be addicted, there must be something that makes them take the wrong steps.

There is such an adult and close person near me whom I want to help, but it only gets worse. In this situation, he behaves like a child who is very capricious and does everything as if to spite me. I do not know how to help such people with gambling addiction. Because if I start to help him or point out that he should not play, he will try to play even more to try to win no matter what. He will do this to prove to me that I am wrong, this is of course the highest point of stubbornness, stupidity and other things. Exactly, I agree with you on this point that not everyone realizes that they are trapped in a cycle of addiction, and often we are here discussing the issue of addiction and also suggesting various things to do but I think it is possible that in fact we are also in the midst of an addiction problem, and that is very possible considering that addiction is a disease that is not always recognized by the sufferer.
And also yes even if they realize that they are addicted I also think that it is unlikely for them to dare to ask for help from others considering the fact that society has a fairly bad stigma against such activities, but maybe they are brave enough to ask for help from their true friends considering the closeness of a friendship.
In the end even if they are determined to seek help from others and not including their friends then I think in the end instead of them getting help people might actually stay away from them because of the fear as you said.

Gambling refers to the two possibilities of winning and losing. Even if you make a profit today, you must lose tomorrow is the eternal rule of gambling. Yeah I think they do know they are addicted, because at some point when probably they are done playing their bet and experiencing the losing spree, they actually realize that they are been trapped in one big whole circle and try everything themselves to get out of it but one thing with gambling is that you can't actually get enough of playing because their is always hope that you will win and believe me that hope is the thing that's make it so much harder to let go.
